| 1 | Clinical significance of serum procalcitonin in patients with ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the association of procalcitonin(PCT)with ulcerative colitis(UC)activity.METHODS:Serum PCT levels,C-reactive protein(CRP)levels,the erythrocyte sedimentation rate,and the white blood cell count were analyzed in 18 patients with UC and 11 healthy volunteers.Serum PCT levels were analyzed by an electrochemiluminescence immunoassay.Severity assessments were based on Truelove and Witts’severity index.Correlation of serum PCT and CRP levels with UC activity was examined.Moreover,we assessed serum PCT and CRP levels in patients with a Mayo endoscopic subscore.RESULTS:Serum PCT levels in severe UC patients(n=7)(0.096±0.034 ng/mL)were significantly higher than in mild-to-moderate UC patients(n=11)(0.033±0.012 ng/mL)and healthy volunteers(n=11)(0.035±0.005 ng/mL)(P=0.0005 and P<0.0001,respectively).In addition,there was no difference in serum PCT levels between mild-to-moderate UC patients and healthy volunteers.Interestingly,patients with a Mayo endoscopic subscore of 3 points displayed significantly increased levels of serum PCT(0.075±0.043 ng/mL)compared with patients with a subscore of 2 points(0.03±0.011 ng/mL)(P=0.0302).Moreover,CRP levels in patients with severe UC or a Mayo endoscopic subscore of 3 points were not significantly higher than in patients with mild-to-moderate UC or a Mayo endoscopic subscore of 3 points.CONCLUSION:Serum PCT levels were significantly correlated with UC activity. | Shigeo Koido Toshifumi Ohkusa Kazuki Takakura Shunichi Odahara Shintaro Tsukinaga Toyokazu Yukawa Jimi Mitobe Mikio Kajihara Kan Uchiyama Hiroshi Arakawa Hisao Tajiri | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013，19，45： | 15 |

| 3 | Characteristics of fever and response to antipyretic therapy in military personnel with adenovirus-positive community acquired pneumonia显示文摘Background:In 2014,an outbreak of adenoviral pneumonia occurred in the Korean military training center.However,there are limited data on the characteristics of the fever and its response to antipyretic therapy in immunocompetent adults with adenovirus-positive community-acquired pneumonia(CAP).Methods:The medical records of the patients who were admitted to the Armed Forces Chuncheon Hospital for the treatment of CAP between January 2014 and December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed.The patients were divided into three groups,namely,the adenovirus-positive(Adv)group,the adenovirus-negative(Non-Adv)group and the unknown pathogen group,according to the results of a polymerase chain reaction(PCR)test and sputum culture used to measure adenovirus and other bacteria or viruses in respiratory specimens.We evaluated and compared the demographics,clinicolaboratory findings and radiological findings upon admission between the two groups.Results:Out of the 251 military personnel with CAP during the study periods,67 were classified into the Adv group,while 134 were classified into the Non-Adv group and 50 were classified into the unknown pathogen group.The patients in the Adv group had a longer duration of fever after admission((3.2±1.6)d vs.(1.9±1.2)d vs.(2.2±1.5)d,P=0.018)and symptom onset((5.8±2.2)d vs.(3.9±2.5)d vs.(3.7±2.0)d,P=0.006)than patients in the Non-Adv and unknown pathogen groups,respectively.The patients in the Adv group had a higher mean temperature at admission(37.8±0.3 vs.37.3±0.3 vs.37.3±0.3,P=0.005),and more patients were observed over 40 and 39 to 40(14.9%vs.2.2%vs.4.0%,35.8%vs.3.7%vs.6.0%,P<0.001)than those in the Non-Adv and unknown pathogen groups,respectively.The Adv group more commonly had no response or exhibited adverse events after antipyretic treatment compared to the Non-Adv group(17.9%vs.1.5%,35.0%vs.4.3%,P<0.001,P=0.05,respectively).In addition,the time from admission to overall clinical stabilization was significantly longer in the patients in the Adv group than in those in the Non-Adv group((4.3±2.8)d vs.(2.9±1.8)d,P=0.034,respectively).Furthermore,no significant difference in the length of hospital stay was observed between the two groups,and no patient died in either group.Conclusions:In this study,Adv-positive CAP in immunocompetent military personnel patients had distinct fever characteristics and responses to antipyretic treatment. | Hongseok Yoo Jimi Oh Chul Park | 2020 | Military Medical Research2020，7，3： | 5 |

| 5 | Squeeze casting of aluminum alloy A380: Microstructure and tensile behavior显示文摘A380 alloy with a relatively thick cross-section of 25 mm was squeeze cast using a hydraulic press with an applied pressure of 90 MPa. Microstructure and tensile properties of the squeeze cast A380 were characterized and evaluated in comparison with the die cast counterpart. Results show that the squeeze cast A380 possesses a porosity level much lower than the die cast alloy, which is disclosed by both optical microscopy and the density measurement technique. The results of tensile testing indicate the improved tensile properties, specifically ultimate tensile strength(UTS: 215.9 MPa) and elongation(Ef: 5.4%), for the squeeze cast samples over those of the conventional high-pressure die cast part(UTS: 173.7 MPa, Ef: 1.0%). The analysis of tensile behavior shows that the squeeze cast A380 exhibits a high tensile toughness(8.5 MJ·m-3) and resilience(179.3 k J·m-3) compared with the die cast alloy(toughness: 1.4 MJ·m-3, resilience: 140.6 k J·m-3), despite that, during the onset of plastic deformation, the strain-hardening rate of the die cast specimen is higher than that of the squeeze cast specimens. The microstructure analyzed by the scanning electron microscopy(SEM) shows that both the squeeze and die cast specimens contain the primary α-Al, Al2 Cu, Al5 Fe Si phase and the eutectic Si phase. But, the Al2 Cu phase present in the squeeze cast alloy is relatively large in size and quantity.
