Re-Os isotopes and PGE geochemistry of black shales and intercalated Ni-Mo polymetallic sulfide bed from the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation, South China显示文摘The Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation consists of a thick black shale sequence with a regionally distributed conformable Ni Mo polymetallic sulfide horizon and a chert bed at its basal strata on theYangtze Platform, South China. In this paper, we discuss all available data on Re Os isotopes and Platinum Group Element (PGE) distribution pattern of the Ni Mo polymetallic sulfide ore and its host rocks (black shales, cherts, and phosphorites) from Guizhou and Hunan provinces. Our results show that the black shales and the Ni Mo sulfide ore have a high initial 187 Os/ 188 Os ratio of 0.78~0.86, indicating that the Early Cambrian ocean across the Yangtze Platform had a highly radiogenic Os value. This ratio is slightly lower than but still similar to present day seawater, possibly as a result of high continental weathering at that time. The Ni Mo sulfide ore yields a Re Os isochron of 537±10 Ma (MSWD=11.9), possibly representing the depositional age of the Niutitang Formation. The chondrite normalized PGE pattern, Pt anomaly (Pt/Pt *), Pt/Pd, Ir/Pd, Au/Ir and Re/Mo ratios of the Ni Mo sulfide ore and its host rocks from South China indicate a varying source contribution of the PGE and other metals for different rocks. It is suggested that the cherts and Ni Mo sulfide ore may have a significant proportion of PGE and probably other metals deriving from submarine hydrothermal fluids with a mantle signature. | JIANG Shaoyong*, YANG Jinghong, LING Hongfei, FENG Hongzhen, CHEN Yongquan and CHEN Jianhua(State Key Laboratory for Mineral Deposits Research, Department of Earth Sciences, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China) | 2003 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2003,13,10: | 78

Zircon U-Pb geochronology,Hf isotopic composition and geological implications of the rhyodacite and rhyodacitic porphyry in the Xiangshan uranium ore field,Jiangxi Province,China显示文摘The Xiangshan uranium ore field is the largest volcanic rock hosted uranium deposit in China. The host rock is a volcanic intrusive complex, including rhyodacite, porphyroclastic lava and late stage sub-volcanic rocks. In this study, zircons from an early stage rhyodacite and a late stage rhyodacite porphyry were dated by SHRIMP and LA-ICP-MS U-Pb methods, and their Hf isotopic compositions were measured by LA-MC-ICP-MS.206Pb/238U ages of 135.1±1.7 and 134.8±1.1 Ma were obtained for the rhyodacite and rhyodacitic porphyry, respectively. These accurate ages indicate that the Xiangshan volcanic-intrusive complex formed in the Early Cretaceous rather than in the Late Jurassic,as concluded in some previous studies.By the Early Cretaceous, the tectonic setting of the area has evolved into a back-arc extensional setting, possibly related to subduction of the paleo-Pacific plate. The close ages of the(early) eruptive rhyodacite and the(late) hypabyssal rhyodacitic porphyry shows that the Xiangshan volcanism was intensive and concentrated in a short time.Zircons from the rhyodacite show negative εHf(t) values of-5.7 to-8.5,with Hf depleted mantle model ages between 1550 and 1720 Ma,whereas zircons from the rhyodacitic porphyry yield εHf(t) values of-6.9 to-10.1 and Hf model ages between 1621 and 1823 Ma.These zircon Hf model ages are similar to the whole rock Nd model ages(1486 to 1911 Ma).Combined with other geochemical characteristics, the Xiangshan rhyodacite and rhyodacitic porphyry may have been derived from partial melting of the Paleo-Mesoproterozoic metamorphic rocks from the Xiangshan basement, without any significant addition of mantle-derived magma.Contribution of basement of this age is also supported by finding a Paleoproterozoic xenocrystic zircon core in the rhyodacite sample. | YANG ShuiYuan JIANG ShaoYong JIANG YaoHui ZHAO KuiDong FAN HongHai | 2010 | Science China Earth Sciences2010,53,10: | 40
Geochemical characteristics of pore water in shallow sediments from Shenhu area of South China Sea and their significance for gas hydrate occurrence显示文摘The Shenhu area is one of the promise target areas for marine gas hydrate exploration in the northern margin of the South China Sea.Pore water samples were collected from two piston cores (8.75 and 8.52 m) in site HS-A and site HS-B in the Shenhu area, and their major anion and cation contents and trace element contents have been analyzed in this study.Cl- concentrations in pore waters are similar to the seawater value and no systematic change along depth profiles has been found for the Cl- content in both sites. In site HS-A,the SO 2- 4 contents show a limited range in pore waters from 0 to 3 m depths, but a dramatic decrease is documented in depth below 3 m.Other elements such as Ca 2+,Mg 2+ and Sr 2+ show similar variation patterns as the SO 2- 4,i.e.,no variation in 0-3 m,but large decrease in depth below 3 m.In site HS-B,both the SO 4 and Ca 2+,Mg 2+ and Sr 2+ display a decrease pattern along the depth profile, but in 0-3 m the variation is less significant than those in depth below 3 m.In both sites HS-A and HS-B,I contents show a dramatic increase along depth profiles.Calculations show that the SMI depths are very shallow (10 and 11 m) in both sites, and the sulfate flux and I flux are very high. These geochemical characteristics and anomalies at Shenhu are quite similar to those found in other gas hydrate locations in the world, and a genetic link is suggested to be related to the gas hydrate occurrence at depths in the study area.In summary,we suggest that combined geochemical parameters in shallow sediment pore waters are useful indicators to indicate the gas hydrate occurrence at depths. | YANG Tao JIANG ShaoYong GE Lu YANG JingHong WU NengYou ZHANG GuangXue LIU Jian | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,8: | 30
Origin of ore-forming fluids of the Dachang Sn-polymetallic ore deposit: Evidence from helium isotopes显示文摘The ore genesis model for the Dachang Sn-polymetallic ore deposit has long been in dispute, and the major debate focuses on whether the stratiform and massive orebodies formed during the Yanshanian magmatic-hydro-thermal event or they were products of Devonian syn-sedi-mentary exhalative-hydrothermal event. This note presents new helium isotope data from fluid inclusions of four pyrites and one fluorite. The pyrites were collected from the stratiform and massive orebodies in the deposit, and their 3He/4He ratios are significantly higher than 1, ranging from 1.7 to 2.5 Ra, which indicates a mantle component in the responsible hydrothermal fluids. It is suggested that the ore-forming fluids were a mixture of deep circulating seawater and a mantle-derived fluid, which are similar to many of those modern submarine hydrothermal fluids. In contrast, the fluorite, collected from a granite-related hydrothermal vein in the deposit, shows a low 3He/4He ratio of 0.7 Ra, which indicates no mantle component | Kuidong Zhao Shaoyong Jiang Hongquan Xiao Pei Ni | 2002 | Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,12: | 28
The age and tectonic environment of the rhyolitic rocks on the western side of Wuyi Mountain,South China显示文摘During the geological survey of the metamorphic rocks in Xingning-Wuhua region on the western side of Wuyi Mountain, South China, we discovered the Neoproterozoic rhyolite and rhyolitic greywacke for the first time that outcrop in the Proterozoic metamorphic rocks near Jingnan Town of Xingning County, eastern Guangdong Province. A systematic research on petrology, geochemistry and geochronology of rhyolitic rocks was conducted to understand their tectonic setting and formation age. The Jingnan rhyolite is interbedded with a coeval greywacke, with a total thickness of 60 m; both rhyolite and greywacke display a similar folding and metamorphic pattern. Meta-rhyolite consists of groundmass and phenocrystals including sanidine, orthoclase, and quartz with distinct undulose extinction; the groundmass has been recrystallized into fine-grain feldspar, quartz and sericite aggregation. Meta-greywacke is composed of crystallinoclastic grains (sanidine, orthoclase, quartz and oligoclase) and clay groundmass. Zircon grains used for the SHRIMP U-Pb analysis are light brown-colored and euhedral or subeuhedral. Dating data suggest two age groups; eight grains of magmatype zircon with an idiomorphic form yield an age of 972±8 Ma, and the other seven weakly corroded grains of zircon with euhedral to subeuhedral shape construct an average age of 1097±11 Ma, which were captured from older rocks by an uplifting magma, implying that a late Mesoproterozoic basement exists in the Nanling region. In addition, one Paleoproterozoic age, 2035±11 Ma, is obtained from a rounded detrital zircon, indicating that a Paleoproterozoic thermal event took place in the South China. Geochemically, the Jingnan rhyolitic rocks are characterized by high K2O content, intermediate Al2O3 content, with the ACNK value 0.98―1.11, and belonging to high-K alkaline series. They are rich in ΣREE, Rb, Th and Ce, depleted in Ba, Sr, Eu, Ti, P and Nb-Ta, and with moderate negative Eu and Sr anomalies. These features indicate that the Jingnan volcanic rocks have an affinity of continental arc that is similar to those of acid volcanic rocks in the SE-China Coastal Region, in other words, a Neoproterozoic tectonomagma event might have taken place in the western Wuyi region, leading to an eruption of high-K calc-alkaline granitic magma. | SHU LiangShu DENG Ping YU JinHai WANG YanBin JIANG ShaoYong | 2008 | Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,8: | 27
Origin of ore-forming fluid in the Piaotang tungsten deposit in Jiangxi Province:Evidence from helium and argon isotopes显示文摘The Piaotang tungsten deposit in Jiangxi Province is one of the most important tungsten deposits in the South China Tungsten Metallogenic Province. In this study,we selected wolframite and chalcopyrite from the main mineralizing stage of the Piaotang tungsten deposit, and analyzed the helium and argon isotopic compositions in fluid inclusions of these minerals. The results show a 3He/4He ratio of 0.17 to 0.86 R/Ra,which fall within the range between continental crust(0.01―0.05 R/Ra) and air-saturated water(1 R/Ra) ,but are significantly lower than those of the normal mantle(6―9 R/Ra) .Their 40 Ar/36 Ar ratios are between 354.5 and 590.7,which are slightly higher than the air-saturated water(295.5) .Along with the other geochemical observation such as the lithium enrichments in the ore bodies and the ore-related granites,we suggest that the ore-forming fluid in the Piaotang tungsten deposit was mainly derived from crustal fluid. It may have mixed with some amounts of air-saturated water, but there was no considerable involvement of mantle-derived fluid. | WANG XuDong 1,2,3,NI Pei 1,2,3,JIANG ShaoYong 1,3,ZHAO KuiDong 1,3 & WANG TianGang 1,2,3 1State Key Laboratory for Mineral Deposits Research,Nanjing University,Nanjing 210093,China 2Institute of Geo-Fluids,Nanjing University,Nanjing 210093,China 3 School of Earth Sciences and Engineering,Nanjing University,Nanjing 210093,China | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,7: | 26
Hf isotopic composition of zircons from the Huashan-Guposhan intrusive complex and their mafic enclaves in northeastern Guangxi:Implication for petrogenesis显示文摘High precision zircon U-Pb dating indicates that main intrusive bodies (Tong'an,Niumiao,Huashan,Lisong),and a mafic microgranular enclave in the Huashan-Guposhan complex were formed at 160-163 Ma.The εHf(t) values of zircons from the Huashan granite vary from -2.8 to +0.3 and those from the Lisong granite vary from -2.3 to +0.3,which are obviously different with those values (+2.6 to +7.4) of the mafic enclaves from the Lisong granite. These Hf isotopic data indicate that the mafic enclaves and host granites were crystallized from different sources of magmas, providing evidence for mafic-felsic magma mixing processes. The highest εHf(t) value of zircons from the mafic enclaves is up to +7.4,indicating that the mafic magma was originated from a relatively depleted mantle source.Studies on regional geology and the contemporaneous mafic and alkaline rocks in this area indicate that the mafic magma was not originated from reworking of basaltic juvenile crust, but from partial melting of the mantle. However,it remains to be resolved whether the mafic magma was derived from partial melting of the asthenosphere or the lithospheric mantle. The Huashan granite and the Lisong granite were formed from hybrid magma of mantle-derived and crust-derived magmas, and the mafic enclaves are considered as remains of mantle-derived magma during mixing processes. The εHf(t) values of zircons from the Niumiao diorite vary from -1.1 to +2.1,and those from the Tong'an quartz monzonite vary from -1.7 to +1.7.These values are lower than those from the mafic enclaves, suggesting that the diorite and monzonite were formed from different source-derived magmas with the mafic enclaves. The εHf(t) values for the Niumiao diorite and the Tong'an monzonite are only slightly higher than those for the Hushan granite and the Lisong granite.Abundant mafic enclaves also occur in the Niumiao diorite and in the Tong'an monzonite. Thus,we suggest that the Niumiao diorite and the Tong'an monzonite were probably also formed from the same hybrid magma as the granites but come through less degree of fractional crystallization and crustal contamination. The strong mantle-derived and crust-derived magma mixing caused by an intense crustal extension and thinning in the Mid-Late Jurassic may be the major mechanism for generating the diorites and granites in southeastern Hunan and northeastern Guangxi belt in South China. | ZHAO KuiDong JIANG ShaoYong ZHU JinChu LI Liang DAI BaoZhang JIANG YaoHui LING HongFei | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,6: | 24
SHRIMP U-Pb zircon dating for lamprophyre from Liaodong Peninsula: Constraints on the initial time of Mesozoic lithosphere thinning beneath eastern China显示文摘It is undebated fact that the lithospheric mantle beneath eastern China was considerably thinned during the Mesozoic time. However, it has no adequate evidence for the exact timing when the lithosphere thinning started. The Liaodong Peninsula is located in the eastern segment of the North China Craton and is one of the important domains to explore the event of lithosphere thinning. SHRIMP U-Pb zircon dating and geochemical study were carried out for the lamprophyre dike swarm that intruded into the magnesite ore-beds in the Dashiqiao Formation of Paleoproterozoic Liaohe Group at the Huaziyu magnesite ore district, Liaodong Peninsula. The results indicate that these lampro- phyre dikes were intruded in late Jurassic (155±4 Ma) and show some geochemical characteristics of potassic magmas. It is now accepted that the lithosphere thinning took place in the late Mesozoic, and the peak thinning stage occurred in early Cretaceous (130―120 Ma). Considering the potassic mafic magmatism marking the onset of the lithospheric thin- ning, we therefore suggest that the studied late Jurassic potassic lamprophyre dike swarm could imply that the late Jurassic is the time that lithosphere thinning started. | JIANG Yaohui JIANG Shaoyong ZHAO Kuidong NI Pei LING Hongfei LIU Dunyi | 2005 | Chinese Science Bulletin2005,50,22: | 22
Grenvillian orogeny in the Southern Cathaysia Block:Constraints from U-Pb ages and Lu-Hf isotopes in zircon from metamorphic basement显示文摘Metamorphic basement rocks in the Cathaysia Block are composed mainly of meta-sediments with different ages. New zircon U-Pb geochronological results from the meta-sedimentary rocks exposed in the Zengcheng and Hezi areas, southern Cathaysia Block, show that they consist dominantly of early Neoproterozoic (1.0―0.9 Ga) materials with minor Paleo- to Mesoproterozoic and late Neoproterozoic (0.8―0.6 Ga) components, suggesting that the detritus mostly come from a Grenvillian orogen. The youngest detrital zircon ages place a constraint on the deposition time of these sediments in Late Neoproterozoic. Zircon Hf isotopic compositions indicate that the Grenvillian zircons were derived from the reworking of Mesoproterozoic arc magmatic rocks and Paleoproterozoic continental crust, implying an arc-continent collisional setting. Single-peak age spectra and the presence of abundant euhedral Grenvillian zircons suggest that the sedimentary provenance is not far away from the sample location. Thus, the Grenvillian orogen probably preexisted along the southern margin of the Cathaysia Block, or very close to the south. Similarity in the ages of Grenvillian orogeny and the influence of the assembly of Gondwana in South China with India and East Antarctic are discussed, with suggestion that South China was more likely linked with the India-East Antarctica continents in Early Neoproterozoic rather than between western Laurentia and eastern Australia. | WANG LiJuan YU JinHai S.Y. | 12 | A comparison study of tungsten-bearing granite and related mineralization in the northern Jiangxi-southern Anhui provinces and southern Jiangxi Province in South China显示文摘The southern Jiangxi Province(SJP) and northern Jiangxi-southern Anhui provinces(NJSAP) are the two most important tungsten metallogenic districts in South China. The SJP district is a well-known tungsten producer in South China where distributes several ore concentrated areas such as the 'Chongyi-Dayu-Shangyou', 'Yudu' and 'Longnan-Quanan-Dingnan'areas, with many large and super large tungsten deposits including the famous Xihuashan, Piaotang, Pangushan and Dajishan deposits. In recent years, major prospecting breakthrough for W-polymetallic resources has been made in the NJSAP district.Several large and super large W-Cu(Mo) deposits, such as the Dahutang, Zhuxi, Dongyuan and Baizhangyan deposits, are discovered. These deposits are all genetically associated with the Yanshanian(Mesozoic) granitic magmatism. In this study, a systematic comparison of the temporal and spatial distribution, petrology, geochronology, and geochemical characteristics of the tungsten-bearing granites between the SJP and NJSAP districts has been made, with an aim to improving the understanding of the petrogenesis of the granites and associated metal enrichment mechanisms in the two tungsten ore districts in South China. The following conclusions can be drawn:(1) The ages of the tungsten-bearing granites and associated mineralization are different in the two districts, in the SJP district the ages are mainly concentrated in 165–150 Ma, whereas in the NJSAP district it displays two age periods, one is 150–140 Ma(Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous), and the other is 135–120 Ma(Early Cretaceous).(2) The tungsten-bearing granites from both the NJSAP and SJP districts are highly fractionated granitic rocks, but the SJP granites have experienced higher degree of fractional crystallization and more extensive fluid metasomatism than the NJSAP granites.(3) The petrogeneses of the tungsten-bearing granites from the two districts are different, those from the NJSAP district originated from partial melting of less mature sandstone-mudstone intercalated with meta-volcanic rocks of the Neoproterozoic Shuangqiaoshan Group which are both W and Cu enriched, in contrast those from the SJP district were likely derived from the highly mature,clay-rich mudstones of the Mesoproterozoic age which are only W enriched. In summary, the different source rocks with different metal enrichment features and different magmatic evolution and fractional degrees for the granites in the two districts might be the key factors that controlled the different matallogenic characteristics of tungsten ore deposits in the two districts in South China. | SU HuiMin JIANG ShaoYong | 2017 | Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,11: | 19
Pb-Pb isotope dating of black shales from the Lower Cambrian Niutitang Formation, Guizhou Province, South China显示文摘The Lower Cambrian black shales of the Niutitang Formation and their lateral equivalents occur widely on the Yangtze Platform, South China. In this study, we examine two sections of the Niutitang Formation in Guizhou Province. We employ a stepwise acid leaching technique to obtain Pb isotope compositions of the black shales. At the Zhongnan section, the black shales display large Pb isotope variations, with 206 Pb/ 204 Pb of 20.5396~33.5709, and 207 Pb/ 204 Pb of 15.8407~16.5782. In contrast, Pb isotope data show a relatively limited range in 206 Pb/ 204 Pb (18.2797~18.5972) and 207 Pb/ 204 Pb (15.6813~15.7159) at the Zhijin section. Data for all acid leached black shale samples from the two sections yield a Pb Pb isochron age of 531±24 Ma. This age may represent the sedimentary age of the black shales. The initial Pb isotope composition of the black shales falls near the upper crust evolution curve in a Zartman Pb Pb evolution diagram. Hence, it is likely that the Pb in the black shales may have been derived from an upper continental crustal source. | CHEN Yongquan, JIANG Shaoyong*, LING Hongfei, FENG Hongzhen, YANG Jinghong and CHEN Jianhua (State Key Laboratory for Mineral Deposits Research, Department of Earth Sciences, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210093, China) | 2003 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2003,13,10: | 19
Chronology,Hf isotopes, geochemistry, and petrogenesis of the magmatic rocks in the Shizishan ore field of Tongling,Anhui Province显示文摘LA-ICPMS zircon U-Pb dating of intrusive rocks from the Shizishan ore field,Tongling,Anhui Province shows that the crystallization ages of Baimangshan pyroxene diorite,Shizishan and Dongguashan quartz diorite are 139±1.9,138.0±1.7,and 138.4±1.7 Ma,respectively. These three intrusions are high-potassium,alkali-rich,meta-aluminous,and are characterized by enrichment of light rare earth elements and large-ion lithophile elements, depletion of heavy rare-earth elements(HREE) and high field strength elements, and slightly negative Eu anomalies.In-situ Hf analysis of zircon for these three intrusions shows large ranges of Hf isotope compositions:the ε Hf(t) values are ε Hf(t)= 3.3 to 14.4 for Baimangshan,14.1 to 23.9 Dongguashan, and 14.7 to 26.9 for Shizishan. The ε Hf(t) values of both the Dongguashan and Shizishan quartz diorites are significantly lower than those of Baimangshan pyroxene diorite.Elemental geochemistry and in-situ zircon Hf isotope analyses indicate that the three intrusions were formed through mixing of granitic magma formed by partial melting of the lower crust and water-rich basic magma derived from the enriched lithospheric mantle. The Dongguashan and Shizishan quartz diorites involved greater crustal components than Baimangshan pyroxene diorite. The Dongguashan and Shizishan quartz diorites have geochemical features similar to the adakite, such as high Sr,low Y,and high Sr/Y ratios.Such geochemical features can be attributed to some fractional crystallization of apatite and sphene, and insignificant plagioclase fractional crystallization after magma mixing. These three intrusions are the products of complex crust-mantle interaction during the regional tectonic regime transition from compression to extension. | GUO WeiMin LU JianJun JIANG ShaoYong ZHANG RongQing ZHAO ZhanJie | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,6: | 15
Jurassic sedimentary features and tectonic settings of southeastern China显示文摘Two types of the Jurassic basins are distinguished in SE China based on their geodynamic features: the Late Triassic-Early Jurassic post-orogenic basins and the Middle Jurassic intra-continental extensional basins. The Lower Jurassic sequence shows a change from coarseto fine-grained accumulation, suggesting a gradually deepening depositional environment from river to shore-lake and to deep-water lake. In contrast, the Middle Jurassic accumulation was changed from claystone to conglomerate along the coastal provinces in SE China, indicative of an initial crustal uplift. The Wuyi Mountains have been a paleogeograghic separating zone since the Middle Jurassic. The Late Jurassic strata are absent in most areas of SE China. A large-scale bimodal intra-continental rift-type volcanism occurred during the Middle Jurassic along a 40-60 km wide and 200 km long area in western Fujian and southern Jiangxi provinces, which is most likely the strongest volcanism in SE China since the Cambrian. The SHRIMP zircon U-Pb analyses on the rhyolite from the Dongkeng basin in the southern Jiangxi area yield a concord U-Pb age of 160±0.5 Ma, providing an upper age limit for the bimodal volcanic eruption. The analyses of the basin features indicate a change of the depositional environment during the interval from Middle Triassic to Late Triassic from a shallow-sea to an intra-continent in SE China in response to the strong collision between the Yangtze and North China Blocks. Sedimentary structures record a southward direction of Early Jurassic paleo-currents, reflecting that their source areas were to the north side. We propose that the Wuyi region was uplifted as early as Middle Jurassic, followed by a wide E-W-trending extended depression and bimodal volcanism in the western foot of the Wuyi Mountains. Presumably the uplift of the Wuyi domain changed the Middle Jurassic paleo geographic outline and formed the transformational tectonic regime from compression to extension as a tectonic response to the Pacific plate subduction. | SHU LiangShu WANG Yan SHA JinGeng JIANG ShaoYong YU JinHai WANG YanBin | 2009 | Science China Earth Sciences2009,52,12: | 15
Geochemistry of pore waters from HQ-1PC of the Qiongdongnan Basin, northern South China Sea, and its implications for gas hydrate exploration显示文摘The Qiongdongnan Basin is one of the target areas for marine gas hydrate exploration in the northern margin of the South China Sea. In this study, major anion (e.g., SO42 , Cl, Br, I), cation (e.g., Ca, Mg, K, Na), and trace element (e.g., Sr, Ba) con- centrations of pore water samples collected from site HQ-1PC in the Qiongdongnan Basin were analyzed. These geochemical data suggest that the process of AOM (Anaerobic Oxidation of Methane) is dominant in sulfate-reduction zone in this site due to high upwelling iodine flux and strong microbial activities. The iodine-rich fluids, which may carry methane for the gas hydrate formation, pass through the gas hydrate stability zone, mix with brine released during gas hydrate formation, and cause the geochemical anomalies observed at site HQ-1PC. The pore water geochemical characteristics and anomalies in the Qiongdongnan Basin are quite similar to those found in other gas hydrate locations in the Shenhu area in the northern South China Sea, and a genetic link is suggested with the possibility of gas hydrate occurrence in the study area. | YANG Tao JIANG ShaoYong GE Lu YANG JingHong WU NengYou ZHANG GuangXue LIU Jian CHEN DaoHua | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,4: | 14
High precision in-situ Pb isotopic analysis of sulfide minerals by femtosecond laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry显示文摘An in-situ microanalysis of Pb isotopic compositions in sulfide minerals is carried out by using femtosecond laser-ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(fs LA-MC-ICP-MS).High-temperature-activated carbon was used to filter Hg contained in the carrier gas, which reduced the Hg background signal by 48%and also lowered the detection limit of the analysis.Fractionation and mass discrimination effects existing in the ICP-MS analytical processes were corrected using an internal reference Tl in conjunction with an external reference NIST SRM 610.The proposed method was used to analyze the Pb isotopic compositions of chalcopyrite, pyrite, and sphalerite from the Dulong Sn-Zn-In polymetallic ore district. The results showed that in this ore district, the sulfide minerals and different grains of the same sulfide mineral show a large variation in Pb content up to 1000-fold.The studied pyrites show relatively higher Pb contents and homogeneous Pb isotopic compositions, whereas the sphalerites have low Pb contents but most variable Pb isotopic compositions. It is suggested that the large variation of Pb isotopic composition may reflect a late hydrothermal superimposition on the primary sulfide formation. In addition, radiogenic Pb accumulated by radioactive decay of trace amounts of U over time in the host minerals may also be one of the causes for the large variation range of Pb content and Pb isotopic composition of those low-Pb sphalerites.Chalcopyrite and sphalerite grains with Pb content greater than 10 ppm presented a consistent Pb isotopic distribution, whereas all the sulfide grains with Pb content greater than 100 ppm had consistent Pb isotopic composition within 2s measurement uncertainties. The in-situ analysis of Pb isotopic composition agreed well with the results obtained by conventional chemical methods within2s measurement uncertainties, indicating that the data obtained by fs LA-MC-ICP-MS are reliable.Additionally, this study indicates that the Pb isotopic composition could truthfully record the source of ore-forming minerals only for sulfide minerals with high Pb content. On the contrary, the Pb isotopic composition of low-Pb sulfide minerals may be affected by trace amounts of U in the host minerals that may lead to a highly radiogenic Pb isotope ratio.Alternatively,it is also possible that late fluid metasomatic overprinting may alter the Pb isotopic compositions. | YUAN HongLin YIN Cong LIU Xu CHEN KaiYun BAO ZhiAn ZONG ChunLei DAI MenNing LAI ShaoCong WANG Rong JIANG ShaoYong | 2015 | Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,10: | 14

Their Sr-Nd, Pb-Sr, Pb-Nd and Pb-Pb isotopes plot between DMM and EMII, with Pb similar to EMII, Nd relatively close to DMM and Sr in between. This profile suggests that the diabase dikes studied were derived from partial melting of a mantle source that had been subjected to metasomatism by fluids originated from a subduction zone under a tectonic environment of crustal extension and lithosphere thinning in the late Yanshanian. | LING Hongfei SHEN Weizhou DENG Ping JIANG Shaoyong JIANG Yaohui YE Haimin PU Wei TAN Zhengzhong | 2005 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2005,79,4: | 13 |
Effects of different forms of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae on growth performance, intestinal development, and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets显示文摘The present study was conducted to determine effects of different forms of yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae, strain Y200007) on the growth performance, intestinal development, and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets.A total of 96 piglets(14-d old, initial average body weight of 4.5 kg) were assigned to 4 dietary treatments:(1) basal diet without yeast(Control);(2) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg live yeast(LY);(3) basal diet supplemented with 2.66 g/kg heat-killed whole yeast(HKY);and(4) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg superfine yeast powders(SFY).Diets and water were provided ad libitum to the piglets during 3-week experiment.Growth performance of piglets was measured weekly.Samples of blood and small intestine were collected at days 7 and 21 of experiment.Dietary supplementation with LY and SFY improved G:F of piglets at days 1-21 of the experiment(P<0.05) compared to Control group.Serum concentrations of growth hormone(GH),triiodothyronine(T_3),tetraiodothyronine(T_4),and insulin growth factor 1(IGF-1) in piglets at day 21 of the experiment were higher when fed diets supplemented with LY and SFY than those in Control group(P < 0.05).Compared to Control group, contents of serum urea nitrogen of piglets were reduced by the 3 yeast-supplemented diets(P< 0.05).Diets supplemented with LY increased villus height and villus-to-crypt ratio in duodenum and jejunum of piglets(P < 0.05) compared to other two groups at day 7 of the experiment.Feeding diets supplemented with LY and SFY increased(P< 0.05) serum concentrations of IgA,IL-2,and IL-6 levels in piglets compared to Control. The CD4^+/CD8^+ ratio and proliferation of T-lymphocytes in piglets fed diets supplemented with LY were increased compared to that of Control group at day 7 of the experiment(P < 0.05).In conclusion, dietary supplementation with both LY and SFY enhanced feed conversion, small intestinal development, and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets, with better improvement in feed conversion by dietary supplementation with LY,while dietary supplementation with SFY was more effective in increasing systemic immune functions in early-weaned piglets. | Zongyong Jiang Shaoyong Wei Zhilin Wang Cui Zhu Shenglan Hu Chuntian Zheng Zhuang Chen Youjun Hu Li Wang Xianyong Ma Xuefen Yang | 2016 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1: | 13
Types and Origin of Dolostones in Tarim Basin, Northwest China: Petrographic and Geochemical Evidence显示文摘In the Tarim Basin of northwestern China hydrocarbon deposits have been discovered in parts of the thick strata of Cambrian dolostones. Based on petrographic study, six types of dolostone have been distinguished: Type-1, pink mud-bearing silty crystalline dolostone (PMSD); Type-2, gypsum- and salt-bearing fine crystalline dolostone (GSFD); Type-3, fine crystalline dolostone with dolomite crystals with cloudy core and clear rim (CCFD); Type-4, deep gray mud-bearing silty crystalline dolostone (GMSD); Type-5, euhedral coarse crystalline dolostone (ECD); and Type-6, xenotopic coarse crystalline dolostone (XCD). Applying petrographic and geochemical methods, the genesis of the dolostones is studied in this paper. Normally, Type-1 dolostone shows U- and Mo-depleted characteristics, reflecting a more oxidized formation environment; High δ18O and the purple color are consistent with formation of Sabkha dolostones on a supratidal flat. Types 2, 3, 4 dolostones show strata formation, similar REE patterns and 87Sr/86Sr ratios with contemporaneous limestones, suggesting a penecontemporaneous origin from seawater. Types 5 and 6 dolostones commonly occur as interbedded rocks, indicating secondary genesis after diagenesis. Type-6 dolostone has the highest order degree (OD) values (average 0.86), the lowest oxygen isotope values and positive Eu anomalies, which are consistent with previously reported hydrothermal dolostones. Differently, Type-5 shows euhedral texture, higher δ18O value, similar REE characteristic and 87Sr/86Sr ratios in comparison with contemporaneous limestones, suggesting that this type might have been dolomitized by down-transferring evaporated seawater during shallow burial stage. Dolostone fluid sources, formation environments and crystallizing dynamics are summarized and possible genetic models for the six types are proposed. | CHEN Yongquan ZHOU Xinyuan JIANG Shaoyong ZHAO Kuidong | 2013 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,2: | 12
