But up to now, less work has been devoted to solvingnonlinear integer programming problems due to the inherent difficulty. This papermanages to transform the general nonlinear integer programming problem into an'equivalent' special continuous global minimization problem. Thus any effectiveglobal optimization algorithm can be used to solve nonlinear integer programmingproblems. This result will also promote the research on global optimization. 2Chlorobenzene degradation by electro-heterogeneous catalysis in aqueous solution:intermediates and reaction mechanism显示文摘This study was performed to investigate the variables that influence chlorobenzene (CB) degradation in aqueous solution by electro-heterogeneous catalysis.The effects of current density,pH,and electrolyte concentration on CB degradation were determined.The degradation effciency of CB was almost 100% with an initial CB concentration of 50 mg/L,current density 15 mA/cm2,initial pH 10,electrolyte concentration 0.1 mol/L,and temperature 25°C after 90 min of reaction.Under the same conditions,the degradation effciency of CB was only 51% by electrochemical (EC) process,which showed that electro-heterogeneous catalysis was more effcient than EC alone.The analysis results of Purge-and-Trap chromatography-mass spectrometry (P&T/GC/MS) and ion chromatography (IC) indicated that in the reaction process,the initial .OH attack could occur at the C-Cl bond of CB,yielding phenol and biphenyl with the release of Cl-.Further oxidation of phenol and biphenyl produced ρ-Vinylbenzoic acid and hydroquinol.Finally,the compounds were oxidized to butenedioic acid and other small-molecule acids.Jiade WANG Jianmeng CHEN 2008Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,11:10
3PhaseⅠ/Ⅱtrial evaluating concurrent carbon-ion radiotherapy plus chemotherapy for salvage treatment of locally recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Background: After deinitive chemoradiotherapy for non-metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC), more than 10% of patients will experience a local recurrence. Salvage treatments present signiicant challenges for locally recurrent NPC. Surgery, stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy, and brachytherapy have been used to treat locally recurrent NPC. However, only patients with small-volume tumors can beneit from these treatments. Re-irradiation with X-ray—based intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMXT) has been more widely used for salvage treatment of locally recurrent NPC with a large tumor burden, but over-irradiation to the surrounding normal tissues has been shown to cause frequent and severe toxicities. Furthermore, locally recurrent NPC represents a clinical entity that is more radioresistant than its primary counterpart. Due to the inherent physical advantages of heavy-particle therapy, precise dose delivery to the target volume(s), without exposing the surrounding organs at risk to extra doses, is highly feasible with carbon-ion radiotherapy(CIRT). In addition, CIRT is a high linear energy transfer(LET) radiation and provides an increased relative biological efectiveness compared with photon and proton radiotherapy. Our prior work showed that CIRT alone to 57.5 Gy E(gray equivalent), at 2.5 Gy E per daily fraction, was well tolerated in patients who were previously treated for NPC with a deinitive dose of IMXT. The short-term response rates at 3–6 months were also acceptable. However, no patients were treated with concurrent chemotherapy. Whether the addition of concurrent chemotherapy to CIRT can beneit locally recurrent NPC patients over CIRT alone has never been addressed. It is possible that the beneits of high-LET CIRT may make radiosensitizing chemotherapy unnecessary. We therefore implemented a phase I/II clinical trial to address these questions and present our methodology and results.Methods and design: The maximal tolerated dose(MTD) of re-treatment using raster-scanning CIRT plus concurrent cisplatin will be determined in the phase I, dose-escalating stage of this study. CIRT dose escalation from 52.5 to 65 Gy E(2.5 Gy E × 21–26 fractions) will be delivered, with the primary endpoints being acute and subacute toxicities. Eicacy in terms of overall survival(OS) and local progression-free survival of patients after concurrent chemotherapy plus CIRT at the determined MTD will then be studied in the phase II stage of the trial. We hypothesize that CIRT plus chemotherapy can improve the 2-year OS rate from the historical 50% to at least 70%.Conclusions: Re-treatment of locally recurrent NPC using photon radiation techniques, including IMXT, provides moderate eicacy but causes potentially severe toxicities. Improved outcomes in terms of eicacy and toxicity proile are expected with CIRT plus chemotherapy. However, the MTD of CIRT used concurrently with cisplatin-based chemotherapy for locally recurrent NPC remains to be determined. In addition, whether the addition of chemotherapy to CIRT is needed remains unknown. 4Efficient degradation of chlorobenzene in a non-thermal plasma catalytic reactor supported on CeO_2/HZSM-5 catalysts显示文摘Chlorobenzene removal was investigated in a non-thermal plasma reactor using CeO_2/HZSM-5catalysts.The performance of catalysts was evaluated in terms of removal and energy efficiency.The decomposition products of chlorobenzene were analyzed.The results show that CeO_2/HZSM-5 exhibited a good catalytic activity,which resulted in enhancements of chlorobenzene removal,energy efficiency,and the formation of lower amounts of by-products.With regards to CO_2 selectivity,the presence of catalysts favors the oxidation of by-products,leading to a higher CO_2 selectivity.With respect to ozone,which is considered as an unavoidable by-product in air plasma reactors,a noticeable decrease in its concentration was observed in the presence of catalysts.Furthermore,the stability of the catalyst was investigated by analyzing the evolution of conversion in time.The experiment results indicated that CeO_2/HZSM-5 catalysts have excellent stability:chlorobenzene conversion only decreased from 78%to 60%after 75 hr,which means that the CeO_2/HZSM-5 suffered a slight deactivation.Some organic compounds and chlorinated intermediates were adsorbed or deposited on the catalysts surface as shown by the results of Fourier Transform Infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopy,scanning electron microscope(SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS) analyses of the catalyst before and after the reaction,revealing the cause of catalyst deactivation.Liying Jiang Guofeng Nie Runye Zhu Jiade Wang Jianmeng Chen Yubo Mao Zhuowei Cheng Willam A.Anderson 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,5:8

6A Constitutive Model of Granite Shear Creep under Moisture显示文摘Previous constitutive models of granite shear creep have two limitations:(1) although moisture greatly affects granite shear creep behavior, currently there are no constitutive models that include this factor;(2) there are also no models that include an acceleration stage. This paper presents an improved Burgers constitutive model with the addition of a damage parameter to characterize the moisture effect and uses a nonlinear relation equation between stress and strain for inclusion as the acceleration stage. The damage parameter is determined from granite creep experiment under four different moisture contents(0%, 0.22%, 0.49%, and 0.79%). The nonlinear relation equation is obtained by fitting a dataset of stain versus time under five different loading stages. 8Dual-wavelength bidirectional pumped high-power Raman fiber laser显示文摘In this paper, we reported both the experimental demonstration and theoretical analysis of a Raman fiber laser based on a master oscillator–power amplifier configuration. The Raman fiber laser adopted the dual-wavelength bidirectional pumping configuration, utilizing 976 nm laser diodes and 1018 nm fiber lasers as the pump sources. A 60-m-long25/400 μm ytterbium-doped fiber was used to convert the power from 1070 to 1124 nm, realizing a maximum power output of 3.7 kW with a 3 dB spectral width of 6.8 nm. Moreover, we developed a multi-frequency model taking into consideration the Raman gain spectrum and amplified spontaneous emission. The calculated spectral broadening of both the forward and backward laser was in good agreement with the experimental results. 9Carbon ion radiotherapy boost in the treatment of glioblastoma:a randomized phase Ⅰ/Ⅲ clinical trial显示文摘Background: Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly virulent tumor of the central nervous system, with a median survival < 15 months. Clearly, an improvement in treatment outcomes is needed. However, the emergence of these malignancies within the delicate brain parenchyma and their infiltrative growth pattern severely limit the use of aggressive local therapies. The particle therapy represents a new promising therapeutic approach to circumvent these prohibitive conditions with improved treatment efficacy. Methods and design: Patients with newly diagnosed malignant gliomas will have their tumor tissue samples submitted for the analysis of the status of O-6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylation. In Phase I, the patients will undergo an induction carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) boost followed by 60 GyE of proton irradiation with concurrent temozolomide (TMZ) at 75 mg/m2. To determine the maximal dose of safe induction boost, the tolerance, and acute toxicity rates in a dose-escalation manner from 9 to 18 GyE in three fractions will be used. In Phase III, GBM-only patients will be randomized to receive either 60 GyE (2 GyE per fraction) of proton irradia-tion with concurrent TMZ (control arm) or a CIRT boost (dose determined in Phase I of this trial) followed by 60 GyE of proton irradiation with concurrent TMZ. The primary endpoints are overall survival (OS) and toxicity rates (acute and long-term). Secondary endpoints are progression-free survival (PFS), and tumor response (based upon assess-ment with C-methionine/fluoro-ethyl-tyrosine positron emission tomography [MET/FET PET] or magnetic resonance imaging [MRI] and detection of serologic immune markers). We hypothesize that the induction CIRT boost will result in a greater initial tumor-killing ability and prime the tumor microenvironment for enhanced immunologic tumor clearance, resulting in an expected 33% improvement in OS rates. Discussion: The prognosis of GBM remains grim. The mechanism underpinning the poor prognosis of this malig-nancy is its chronic state of tumor hypoxia, which promotes both immunosuppression/immunologic evasion and radio-resistance. The unique physical and biological properties of CIRT are expected to overcome these microenviron-mental limitations to confer an improved tumor-killing ability and anti-tumor immune response, which could result in an improvement in OS with minimal toxicity. 12Mechanism and kinetics of 2-chlorophenol decomposition using coupled ultrasound and electrocatalysis显示文摘A coupled ultrasound/electrocatalysis(US/EC) process was used to enhance the decomposition effi-ciency of organics.The synergetic kinetics and the mechanism of 2-chlorophenol(2-CP) decomposi-tion with coupled US/EC were studied.It was found that in a US/EC process 2-CP is attacked by active radicals(such as hydroxyl radicals) to form 2-chloro-p-benzoquinone,and the latter is oxidized to simple organic acids when the ring is opened.The enhancement factor expressed by the apparent rate constant of 2-CP decomposition with coupled US/EC is 1.324 at a current density of 20 mA·cm-2,an ultrasonic frequency of 20 kHz,an ultrasonic intensity of 0.27 W·cm-2,and a 2-CP initial concentration of 200 mg·L-1,which means that a synergetic effect exists.A model derived from Langmuir adsorption theory of solid surface and reaction kinetics equations can describe exactly the decomposition of 2-CP with coupled US/EC.The numerical values are in good agreement with the experimental data.The model parameters are associated with reaction conditions.WANG JiaDe ZHU RunYe CHEN Xia CHEN JianMeng 2008Science China Chemistry2008,51,6:2
13Inter-and intra-specific phenotypic variation of ecological stoichiometric traits in a mixed-oak secondary forest in China显示文摘Ecological stoichiometry provides a framework for the balance and flow of elements between organisms and ecosystems.Elemental phenotypes have an important influence on the environmental adaptation and ecological evolution of plants.There have been few reports on inter-and intra-specific phenotypic variations of ecological stoichiometric traits for congeneric species in a mixed forest although such variations are well-documented at the species level at global,regional and local scales.In this study,total carbon(TC),nitrogen(TN),phosphorus(TP)and potassium(TK)were measured in leaves and the elemental phenotypes were statistically analyzed in four species of oaks—Quercus fabri,Q.serrata var.glandulifera,Q.acutissima and Q.variabilis—in a mixed-oak secondary forest in Yushan,Jiangsu,China.The average element concentrations in the four oak species were not relatively higher than previously reported for oaks from world and Chinese flora.Ecological stoichiometry traits were correlated with tree height and diameter at breast height,indicating that phosphorous and potassium were positively correlated with tree size,while carbon was negatively correlated,especially the relationship between oak growth and total carbon or total phosphorus was obvious,and the study concluded that this was because plant growth depended on phosphorus storage and had opposite effects on leaf carbon accumulation.Based on tree plasticity index and the coefficient of variation,there was medium variation in element concentrations.The plasticity index of total carbon levels was the lowest,and that of potassium the highest.Principal component analysis and cluster analysis showed that the intra-specific variation among the four oak species was higher than inter-specific variation.From the perspective of nutrient supply and ecological adaptation,this study creates a foundation for the management of secondary oak forest stands.Yueyao Feng Xuan Li Biyao Zhou Rong Hu Huanchao Zhang Jiading Yang Yanming Fang 2021Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,6:2
