| 1 | Novel association between sperm deformity index and oxidative stress-induced DNA damage in infertile male patients显示文摘Aim: To investigate the impact of abnormal sperm morphology using the sperm deformity index (SDI) on reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and its correlation with sperm DNA damage. Methods: Semen samples were collected from men undergoing infertility screening (n=7) and healthy donors (n=6). Mature spermatozoa were isolated and incubated with 5mmol/L β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) for up to 24h to induce ROS. Sperm morphology was evaluated using strict Tygerberg's criteria and the SDI. ROS levels and DNA damage were assessed using chemiluminescence and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated fluoresceindUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assays, respectively. Results: SDI values (median [interquartiles]) were higher in patients than donors (2 [1.8,2.1] vs. 1.53 [1.52, 1.58], P=0.008). Aliquots treated with NADPH showed higher ROS levels (1.22 [0.30, 1.87] vs. 0.39 [0.10, 0.57], P=0.03) and higher incidence of DNA damage than those not treated (10 [4.69, 24.85] vs. 3.85 [2.58, 5.10], P=0.008). Higher DNA damage was also seen following 24h of incubation in patients compared to donors. SDI correlated with the percentage increase in sperm DNA damage following incubation for 24h in samples treated with NADPH (r=0.7, P=0.008) and controls (r=0.58, P=0.04).Conclusion: SDI may be a useful tool in identifying potential infertile males with abnormal prevalence of oxidative stress (OS)-induced DNA damage. | 2 | Polymer assisted deposition of high-quality CsPbI2Br film with enhanced film thickness and stability显示文摘Inorganic halide perovskites such as cesium lead iodide(CsPbI3)have drawn tremendous attention,as their tunable band gaps are desirable for solar cells as well as light emitting diodes.However,due to their low Goldschmidt tolerance factor,the cubic phase of bulk CsPbX3-the variant with desirable band gap-is not stable in ambient,especially in humid air.Besides,the low solubility of CsX in precursor makes it difficult to control the film thickness and morphology of CsPbX3,which becomes another obstacle for the practical application of inorganic perovskite.Here,we report a polymer assisted deposition of high-quality CsPbI2Br film by spin-coating a polymer-blended CsPbI2Br precursor.The long-chained polymer increases the viscosity of the solution,which enables us to achieve a ca.700-nm thick film with a low solution concentration of CsPbI2Br.Moreover,the polymer network helps to regulate the crystallization process and provides more crystallization sites for perovskite film,reducing grain size and thus improving the film coverage.Perovskite solar cells with the polymer network exhibit improved efficiency and reproducibility(0.72%standard deviation).Moreover,the device demonstrates excellent robustness against moisture and oxygen,and maintains 90%of its initial power conversion efficiency(PCEs)after aging 4 months in ambient conditions.The conception of polymer incorporation into inorganic perovskite films paves a way to further increase the performance,stability and reproducibility of inorganic perovskite devices. | Jing Wei Xi Wang Xiangyu Sun Zhaofeng Yang Iwan Moreels Kun Xu Hongbo Li | 2020 | Nano Research2020，13，3： | 6 |

| 4 | Granulomatous reaction in hepatic inflammatory angiomyolipoma after chemoembolization and spontaneous rupture显示文摘A 77-year-old Japanese woman was transported to a nearby hospital due to sudden abdominal pain and transient loss of consciousness. Abdominal computed tomography(CT) suggested hemoperitoneum and hepatic nodule. She was conservatively treated. Contrast-enhanced CT two months later revealed an increased mass size, and the enhancement pattern suggested the possibility of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Under a clinical diagnosis of HCC, transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) was performed. A subsequent imaging study revealed that most of the lipiodol used for the embolization was washed out. Therefore, surgical resection was performed. Histologically, the nodule contained numerous inflammatory cells including small lymphocytes, plasma cells and macrophages. Notably, epithelioid granulomatous features with multinucleated giant cells were observed in both the nodule and background liver. Some of the multinucleated giant cells contained oil lipid. Among the infiltrating inflammatory cells,spindle-shaped, histiocytoid or myoid tumor cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm were found. The tumor cells were positive for Melan A and HMB45. The nodule contained many Ig G4-positive plasma cells; these were counted and found to number 72.6 cells/HPF(range: 61-80). The calculated Ig G4:Ig G ratio was 33.2%. | 6 | Distribution and effects of polymorphic RANTES gene alleles in HIV/HCV coinfection - A prospective cross-sectional study显示文摘AIM: Chemokines and their receptors are crucial for immune responses in HCV and HIV infection. RANTES gene polymorphisms lead to altered gene expression and influence the natural course of HIV infection. Therefore,these mutations may also affect the course of HIV/HCV coinfection.METHODS: We determined allele frequencies of RANTES-403 (G→A), RANTES-28 (C→G) and RANTESIN1.1 (T→C) polymorphisms using real-time PCR and hybridization probes in patients with HIV (n = 85), HCV (n= 112), HIV/HCV coinfection (n = 121), and 109 healthy controls. Furthermore, HIV and HCV loads as well as CD4+ and CD8+ cell counts were compared between different RANTES genotypes.RESULTS: Frequencies of RANTES-403 A, RANTES-28 G and RANTES-IN1.1 C alleles were higher in HIV infected patients than in healthy controls (-403: 28.2% vs 15.1%,P = 0.002; -28: 5.4% vs 2.8%, not significant; IN1.1:19.0% vs 11.0%, P = 0.038). In HIV/HCV coinfected patients, these RANTES alleles were less frequent than in patients with HIV infection alone (15.4% P = 0.002;1.7%; P = 0.048; 12.0%; not significant). Frequencies of these alleles were not significantly different between HIV/HCV positive patients, HCV positive patients and healthy controls.CONCLUSION: All three RANTES polymorphisms showed increased frequencies of the variant allele exclusively in patients with HIV monoinfection.
