1Superscalar communication: A runtime optimization for distributed applications显示文摘Building distributed applications is difficult mostly because of concurrency management. Existing approaches primarily include events and threads. Researchers and developers have been debating for decades to prove which is superior. Although the conclusion is far from obvious, this long debate clearly shows that neither of them is perfect. One of the problems is that they are both complex and error-prone. Both events and threads need the programmers to explicitly manage concurrencies, and we believe it is just the source of difficulties. In this paper, we propose a novel approach—superscalar communication, in which concurrencies are automatically managed by the runtime system. It dynamically analyzes the programs to discover potential concurrency opportunities; and it dynamically schedules the communication and the computation tasks, resulting in automatic concurrent execution. This approach is inspired by the idea of superscalar technology in modern microprocessors, which dynamically exploits instruction-level parallelism. However, hardware superscalar algorithms do not fit software in many aspects, thus we have to design a new scheme completely from scratch. Superscalar communication is a runtime extension with no modification to the language, compiler or byte code, so it is good at backward compatibility. 7Morphology transition in a heteroepitaxial system: Co/Cu(111)显示文摘The initial stages of multilayer Co thin film grown on Cu(111) surface were simulated by means of kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) method, where the realistic growth model and physical parameters were presented. The effects of edge diffusion along the islands and mass transport between interlayers were included in the simulation model. Emphasis was placed on revealing the transition of growth morphology in heteroepitaxial Co/Cu(111) system with the changing of surface temperature. The simulation results show that the dendritic islands form at low temperature (T=210 K), while compact islands grow at room temperature (RT). The Volmer-Webber (three-dimensional, 3D) growth mode is presented due to the relative higher Ehrlich-Schwoebel (ES) barrier. 8Effect of different plant growth regulators on callus and adventitious shoots induction,polysaccharides accumulation and antioxidant activity of Rhodiola dumulosa显示文摘Objective:As a medicinal plant,the resource of Rhodiola dumulosa is deficient along with the large collection.For the protection and utilization of R.dumulosa,the influence of plant growth regulators(PGRs)on callus induction and adventitious shoots differentiation,polysaccharide production and the antioxidant activity were tested.Methods:Internodes of R.dumulosa were used as explants and cultured on MS medium plus different plant growth regulators(PGRs).The anti-oxidative activities of polysaccharides were evaluated using radical scavenging assays.Results:By response surface plot,0.85 mg/L N6-benzyladenine(BA),0.34 mg/L naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA)and 0.33 mg/L 2,4-dicholorophenoxyacetic acid(2,4-D)were the optimal factors for callus induction(90.03%)from internodes explants on MS medium.The fresh weight of green callus increased 47.26 fold,when callus was inoculated on MS+thidiazuron(TDZ)0.5 mg/L+NAA 2.0 mg/L.Adventitious buds regenerated from callus on the media of MS were fortified with BA 1.0 mg/L plus NAA 0.5 mg/L,and the induction rate was 40.00%.MS plus indole-3-butyric acid(IBA)1.0 mg/L produced the highest rooting rate with 10 to 15 roots in a length of 2–3 cm per shoot.The content of total polysaccharides in callus developed on MS+TDZ 0.5 mg/L+NAA 2.0 mg/L and MS+BA 1.0 mg/L+NAA 0.5 mg/L was as high as 1.72%2.15%.At the dose of 0.5 mg/mL polysaccharides extracted from different callus induced on MS+NAA 2.0 mg/L+TDZ 0.5 mg/L or MS+BA 1.0 mg/L+NAA 0.5 mg/L or MS+BA 0.5 mg/L+2,4-D 0.5 mg/L,the ABTS radical eliminating percentages were 82.78%,80.18%and 68.59%,respectively,much higher than that of wild plant.Conclusion:A rapid micropropagation system for R.dumulosa has been developed.The combination of TDZ and NAA or BA and NAA can increase the yield of the total polysaccharides.The polysaccharides isolated from callus and whole wild plants had stronger free radicals scavenging activities,indicating that polysaccharides from R.dumulosa are the potential pharmaceutical supplements.Xu Lu Liangdan Fei Yi Li Jialin Du Weiwei Ma Hangjun Huang Junli Wang 2023Chinese Herbal Medicines2023,15,2:0
9Fluid flow in charged nanotubes显示文摘The dynamics of fluid flow through nanochannels is different from those in macroscopic systems.By using the molecular dynamics simulations,we investigate the influence of surface polarity of nanotube on the transport properties of the water fluid.The nanotube used here resembles the carbon nanotube,but carries charges of q on some atoms;overall,the nanotube is charge-neutral.Our simulation results show that water flux decreases sharply with the increasing of q for q < 1.6 e;however,the water flux for shells far away from nanotube wall increases slightly when q > 1.6 e.The mechanism behind the interesting phenomenon is discussed.Our findings may have implications for development of nano-fluidic devices and for understanding the movement of confined fluid inside the hydrophilic nanochannel.Xiaofeng Yang Mei Feng Yanyan Chen Hangjun Lu Xiaoyan Zhou 2013Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2013,3,3:0
10Simulation of Multilayer Silicon Thin Films Growth on Si(111) Surface显示文摘The homoepitaxial growth of multilayer Si thin film on Si(111) surfaces was simulated by Monte Carlo (MC) method with realistic growth model and physical parameters. Special emphasis was placed on revealing the influence of the Ehrlich-Schwoebel (ES) barrier on the growth modes and morphologies. It is evident that there exists the ES barrier during multilayer Si thin film growth on Si (111) surface, which is deduced from the incomplete layer-by-layer growth process in the realistic experiments.
