| 1 | Endoscopic ultrasound elastography for evaluation of lymph nodes and pancreatic masses:A multicenter study显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the ability of endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) elastography to distinguish benign from malignant pancreatic masses and lymph nodes.METHODS:A multicenter study was conducted and included 222 patients who underwent EUS examination with assessment of a pancreatic mass(n=121) or lymph node(n=101).The classification as benign or malignant,based on the real time elastography pattern,was compared with the classif ication based on the B-mode EUS images and with the fi nal diagnosis obtained by EUS-guided fi ne needle aspiration(EUS-FNA) and/or by surgical pathology.An interobserver study was performed.RESULTS:The sensitivity and specificity of EUS elastography to differentiate benign from malignant pancreatic lesions are 92.3% and 80.0%,respectively,compared to 92.3% and 68.9%,respectively,for the conventional B-mode images.The sensitivity and specificity of EUS elastography to differentiate benign from malignant lymph nodes was 91.8% and 82.5%,respectively,compared to 78.6% and 50.0%,respectively,for the B-mode images.The kappa coefficient was 0.785 for the pancreatic masses and 0.657 for the lymph nodes.CONCLUSION:EUS elastography is superior compared to conventional B-mode imaging and appears to be able to distinguish benign from malignant pancreatic masses and lymph nodes with a high sensitivity,specificity and accuracy.It might be reserved as a second line examination to help characterise pancreatic masses after negative EUS-FNA and might increase the yield of EUS-FNA for lymph nodes. | Marc Giovannini Botelberge Thomas Bories Erwan Pesenti Christian Caillol Fabrice Esterni Benjamin Monges Geneviève Arcidiacono Paolo Deprez Pierre Yeung Robert Schimdt Walter Schrader Hanz Szymanski Carl Dietrich Christoph Eisendrath Pierre Van Laethem Jean-Luc Devière Jacques Vilmann Peter Saftoiu Andrian | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,13: | 48 |

| 3 | A 5'-flanking region polymorphism in toll-like receptor 4 is associated with gastric cancer in a Chinese population显示文摘Objective:Inflammation induced by H.pylori colonization in the stomach is related to the development of gastric cancer and the genetic variations of the genes involved in the immune responses modify the host response to the infection. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether polymorphisms in the toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) gene, a key regulator of both innate and adaptive immunity, were related to the susceptibility togastric cancer in a Chinese population. Methods: Two variations in the 5'-flanking region of TLR4 (rs1927914 T>C and rs10759932 T>C) were genotyped by using the PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) assay in a case-control study of 1,053 incident gastric cancer cases and 1,100 cancer-free controls in a Chinese population. Results: Individuals carrying the C allele of rs10759932 had a significantly reduced risk of gastric cancer (adjusted OR=0.81; 95%CI=0.67-0.96), compared with the wild-type homozygote (TT), and the protective effect was not significantly different among subgroups stratified by age, sex, smoking, drinking and H.pylori infection status (P for heterogeneity >0.05). No significant association was observed between rs1927914 and gastric cancer risk in this study population. Conclusion: The T to C allele substitution of rs10759932 may play a protective role in gastric carcinogenesis in a Chinese population. | 4 | Applications of Nanobiomaterials in the Therapy and Imaging of Acute Liver Failure显示文摘Acute liver failure(ALF),a fatal clinical disease featured with overwhelming hepatocyte necrosis,is a grand challenge in global health.However,a satisfactory therapeutic option for curing ALF is still absent,other than liver transplantation.Nanobiomaterials are currently being developed for the diagnosis and treatment of ALF.The liver can sequester most of nanoparticles from blood circulation,which becomes an intrinsic superiority for nanobiomaterials targeting hepatic diseases.Nanobiomaterials can enhance the bioavailability of free drugs,thereby significantly improving the therapeutic effects in ALF.Nanobiomaterials can also increase the liver accumulation of therapeutic agents and enable more effective targeting of the liver or specific liver cells.In addition,stimuli-responsive,optical,or magnetic nanomaterials exhibit great potential in the therapeutical,diagnostic,and imaging applications in ALF.Therefore,therapeutic agents in combination with nanobiomaterials increase the specificity of ALF therapy,diminish adverse systemic effects,and offer a multifunctional theranostic platform.Nanobiomaterial holds excellent significance and prospects in ALF theranostics.In this review,we summarize the therapeutic mechanisms and targeting strategies of various nanobiomaterials in ALF.We highlight recent developments of diverse nanomedicines for ALF therapy,diagnosis,and imaging.Furthermore,the challenges and future perspectives in the theranostics of ALF are also discussed. | Yuanyuan Jin Haixia Wang Ke Yi Shixian Lv Hanze Hu Mingqiang Li Yu Tao | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2: | 3 |
| 5 | Engineering HOF‑Based Mixed‑Matrix Membranes for Efficient CO_(2) Separation显示文摘Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks(HOFs)have emerged as a new class of crystalline porous materials,and their application in membrane technology needs to be explored.Herein,for the first time,we demonstrated the utilization of HOF-based mixed-matrix membrane for CO_(2) separation.HOF-21,a unique metallo-hydrogen-bonded organic framework material,was designed and processed into nanofillers via amine modulator,uniformly dispersing with Pebax polymer.Featured with the mix-bonded framework,HOF-21 possessed moderate pore size of 0.35 nm and displayed excellent stability under humid feed gas.The chemical functions of multiple binding sites and continuous hydrogen-bonded network jointly facilitated the mass transport of CO_(2).The resulting HOF-21 mixed-matrix membrane exhibited a permeability above 750 Barrer,a selectivity of~40 for CO_(2)/CH_(4) and~60 for CO_(2)/N_(2),surpassing the 2008 Robeson upper bound.This work enlarges the family of mixed-matrix membranes and lays the foundation for HOF membrane development. | Yuhan Wang Yanxiong Ren Yu Cao Xu Liang Guangwei He Hanze Ma Hongliang Dong Xiao Fang Fusheng Pan Zhongyi Jiang | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,4: | 2 |
