| 1 | Evaluation of photosynthesis, physiological, and biochemical responses of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L. cv. Pirouz) under water deficit stress and use of vermicompost fertilizer显示文摘One goal in the face of drought stress conditions is to increase growth and yield through the reduction of negative effects of stress. Vermicompost can play an effective role in plant growth and development and in reducing harmful effects of various environmental stresses on plants due to its porous structure, high water storage capacity, having hormone-like substances, plant growth regulators, and high levels of macro and micro nutrients. This study considered the physiological, biochemical, and photosynthetic responses of the chickpea to different combinations of vermicompost and water stress in a greenhouse environment. Two factors were involved, addition of vermicompost to soil at four ratios: control(100 wt%(weight percentage) soil); 10 wt% vermicompost+90% soil; 20 wt% vermicompost+80 wt% soil; 30 wt% vermicompost+70 wt% soil weight percentage, and treatment of water stress at three levels including 75, 50, and 25% of field capacity. The results showed that vermicompost had a significant effect on all traits under stress and non-stress conditions. Application of vermicompost in soil, especially at the levels of 20 and 30 wt% significantly increased all studied traits under non-stress conditions. Under moderate stress conditions, vermicompost at 30 wt% treatment resulted in a significant increase in the photosynthetic pigments, CO_2 assimilation rate, internal leaf CO_2 concentration, transpiration, the maximal quantum yield of photosystem II(PSII) photochemistry(F_v/F_m), concentrations of Ca and K in root and leaf tissues, proline and soluble protein contents in root tissues. Peroxidase(POX) and catalase(CAT) enzyme activities decreased significantly with increasing proportions of vermicompost, but the activity of superoxide dismutase was not significantly different. | 3 | Accumulation of heavy metal in Platanus orientalis, Robinia pseudoacacia and Fraxinus rotundifolia显示文摘Plants are capable of reducing environmental pollutions through uptaking contaminants in their tissues. In the study site, twenty one-year-old leaves and shoots as well as twenty soil samples were sampled and analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP). We investigated the uptaking ability of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) by the leaves and shoots of Platanus orientalis, Robinia pseudoacacia and Fraxinus rotundifolia in Karaj city, the western Tehran, Iran. We also evaluated the total metal accumulation capacity by using metal accumulation index (MAI). Results indicated that there was no significant difference in uptaking contents of Cd and Pb in the leaves among the trees. However accumulation of Cd in shoots of F. rotundifolia and R. pseudoacacia was significantly higher than that of P. orientalis. The accumulation of Pb in shoots of R. pseudoacacia was significantly higher than the other species. The amount of Pb in the soil of the study area was significantly higher than Cd. Concentrations of Cd and Pb in leaves of the three species are in the ranges of 2.4 2.7 mg Kg-1 and 7.1 14.4 mg Kg-1 , respectively. | 4 | Ag/TiO_2/freeze-dried graphene nanocomposite as a high performance photocatalyst under visible light irradiation显示文摘Ag/TiO_2/freeze-dried graphene nanocomposites have been prepared via a facile one-step solvothermal method for the photocatalytic degradation of Rh B under visible light irradiation. During the solvothermal process, reduction of graphene oxide and loading of Ag/TiO_2 nanoparticles on graphene sheets were achieved. Investigation of chemical state of products showed that covering of Ag/TiO_2 surface with higher weight ratio of graphene resulting in that Ag metals in Ag/TiO_2 were oxidized to Ag2 O in nanocomposite structure after solvothermal process. Degree of photocatalytic activity enhancement strongly depends on the coverage of Ag/TiO_2 surface by porous graphene. The sample of 1 wt% porous graphene hybridized Ag/TiO_2 showed the highest photocatalytic activity, which is related to high migration efficiency of photoinduced of electrons and reduction of electron–hole recombination rate due to high electrical conductivity of graphene. Expanding of absorption to visible light region was ascribed to surface plasmon resonance effect of Ag metals and presence of graphene. | 5 | Diversity of woody plant species and their relationship to physiographic factors in central Zagros forests (Case study: Perc forest, Khorramabad, Iran)显示文摘Topography is the most factor that has the greatest impact of all factor that affect the distribution.To study the diversity of trees and shrub species in the Perc forest situated in Khorramabad,Lorestan,140 circular plots of 1200 m^2 in a grid of 300 m 9 250 m were surveyed,using a systematic random sampling method.In each plot,the Margalef richness index,Shannon–Wiener diversity index,Hill's N_1 and Simpson indices and the evenness index of Simpson and Smith-Wilson were calculated and ordered on the basis of different classes of elevation,exposition and slope.The results indicated that slope did not have any significant effect on the indices.Exposition and elevation classes significant impacted the richness and diversity indices,but did not influence evenness.In general,the highest plant diversity was observed for slopes less than 15 %,northern aspects,without geographical direction,and elevations of 2100–2200 m.This information can be very useful in achieving the goals for sustainable management of forests.In addition to greater protection for regions with high diversity and reforestation(compatible species) in degraded area,we can help increase diversity in forests. | Ramin Hosseinzadeh Javad Soosani Vahid Aiijani Sheyda Khosravi Hamdieh Karimikia | 2016 | Journal of Forestry Research2016,27,5: | 4 |
| 6 | Preparation of transparent nanostructured N-doped TiO_2 thin films by combination of sonochemical and CVD methods with visible light photocatalytic activity显示文摘Pollution of water resources with pesticide compounds has raised serious environmental problems,and for photocatalytic degradation of these pollutants,thin film photocatalysts are preferred to colloidal ones due to the separation problem of colloidal nanoparticles.In this work,nanostructured TiO_2 and N-doped TiO_2 thin films with high transparency were deposited on glass and quartz substrates through sonochemical–chemical vapor deposition(CVD)method.The films prepared on glass and quartz substrates had nanocubic and nanospherical morphology,respectively.The presence of N atoms in the structure of TiO_2 resulted in a decrease in the band gap energy of TiO_2 and also in the reduction of photogenerated electron–hole recombination rate.Furthermore,the presence of N atoms induced the formation of Ti^(3+)species which can act as hole trapping centers.The prepared thin films were also used for the visible light photocatalytic degradation of paraoxon pesticide.According to these results among the prepared thin films,the N-doped TiO_2 thin films have higher photocatalytic activity than pure TiO_2 thin films.Moreover,in comparison with the thin films deposited on quartz substrate,the films on glass substrate have higher photocatalytic performance,which can be related to the special nanocubic morphology of these samples. | Hossein RASOULNEZHAD Ghader HOSSEINZADEH Reza HOSSEINZADEH Naser GHASEMIAN | 2018 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2018,7,3: | 4 |

| 8 | Morphology dependent photocatalytic activity of WO_3 nanostructures显示文摘The shape of nanostructure has important effects on their properties, therefore in this study, we have prepared and characterized three different morphologies of WO3 nanostructures i.e. nanorod, nanosphere and nanoplate for surveying shape effect on their photocatalytic properties toward degradation of Rhodamine B(Rh B) dye.Obtained results show that nanoplate WO3 in comparison with others has the best photocatalytic activity. According to SEM, and photocatalytic degradation results, the reason for this behavior is the sharp edges and corners of WO3 nanoplates. Because of their low coordination number, atoms located in the edges and corners of the WO3 nanoplates have more activity,adsorb more Rh B and therefore give more photocatalytic activity to the WO3 nanoplates. | 12 | A Novel All-Optical Sensor Design Based on a Tunable Resonant Nanocavity in Photonic Crystal Microstructure Applicable in MEMS Accelerometers显示文摘In view of the large scientific and technical interest in the microelectromechanical system(MEMS)accelerometer sensor and the limitations of capacitive,resistive piezo,and piezoelectric methods,we focus on the measurement of the seismic mass displacement using a novel design of the all-optical sensor(AOS).The proposed AOS consists of two waveguides and a ring resonator in a two-dimensional rod-based photonic crystal(PhC)microstructure,and a holder which connects the central rod of a nanocavity to a proof mass.The photonic band structure of the AOS is calculated with the plane-wave expansion approach for TE and TM polarization modes,and the light wave propagation inside the sensor is analyzed by solving MaxwelFs equations using the finite-difference time-domain method.The results of our simulations demonstrate that the fundamental PhC has a free spectral range of about 730 nm covering the optical communication wavelength-bands.Simulations also show that the AOS has the resonant peak of 0.8 at 1.644μm,quality factor of 3288,full width at half maximum of 0.5nm,and figure of merit of 0.97.Furthermore,for the maximum 200nm nanocavity displacements in the x-or y-direction,the resonant wavelengths shift to 1.618μm and 1.547μm,respectively.We also calculate all characteristics of the nanocavity displacement in positive and negative directions of the jc-axis and y-axis.The small area of 104.35μm^(2)and short propagation time of the AOS make it an interesting sensor for various applications,especially in the vehicle navigation systems and aviation safety tools. | Mojtaba HOSSEINZADEH SANI Hamed SAGHAEI Mohammad Amin MEHRANPOUR Afsaneh ASGARIYAN TABRIZI | 2021 | Photonic Sensors2021,11,4: | 2 |

| 14 | A review of major non-sulfide zinc deposits in Iran显示文摘The numerous non-sulfide zinc ore deposits were the historical basis for the development of zinc mining in Iran.They include the Mehdiabad,Irankouh and Angouran world-class deposits,as well as the Zarigan and Haft-har deposits.These deposits were formed by supergene oxidation of primary sulfide minerals during the complex interplay of tectonic uplift,karst development,changes in the level of the water table,and weathering.Zn(Pb)carbonates,Zn-hydrosilicates and associated hydrated phases directly replace the primary ore bodies or fill cavities along fractures related to uplift tectonics.Direct replacement of primary sulfides is accompanied by distal precipitation of zinc non-sulfide minerals in cavities or internal sediments filling.The mineralogy of the non-sulfide mineralization in all six deposits is generally complex and consists of smithsonite,hydrozincite,and hemimorphite as the main economic minerals,accompanied by iron and manganese oxy-hydroxides and residual clays.Commonly,non-sulfide minerals in these deposits consist of two types of ore:red zinc ore(RZO),rich in Zn,Fe,Pb-(As)and white zinc ore(WZO),typically with very high zinc grades but low concentrations of iron and lead.Typical minerals of the RZO are Fe-oxyhydroxides,goethite,hematite,hemimorphite,smithsonite and/or hydrozincite and cerussite.Common minerals of the WZO are smithsonite or hydrozincite and only minor amounts of Fe-oxyhydroxides and hemimorphite. | Sajjad Maghfouri Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh Abdorrahman Rajabi Flavien Choulet | 2018 | Geoscience Frontiers2018,9,1: | 2 |
