| 1 | Network-Connected UAV Communications: Potentials and Challenges显示文摘This article explores the use of network-connected unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) communications as a compelling solution to achieve high-rate information transmission and support ultra-reliable UAV remote command and control. We first discuss the use cases of UAVs and the resulting communication requirements, accompanied with a flexible architecture for network-connected UAV communications. Then, the signal transmission and interference characteristics are theoretically analyzed, and subsequently we highlight the design and optimization considerations, including antenna design, nonorthogonal multiple access communications, as well as network selection and association optimization. | 2 | HF Communications: Past, Present, and Future显示文摘High frequency(HF) communication, commonly covering frequency range between 3 and 30 MHz, is an important wireless communication paradigm to offer over-thehorizon or even global communications with ranges up to thousands of kilometers via skywave propagation with ionospheric refraction. It has widespread applications in fields such as emergency communications in disaster areas, remote communications with aircrafts or ships and non-light-of-the-sight military operations. This tutorial article overviews the history of HF communication, demystifies the recent advances, and provides a preview of the next few years, which the authors believe will see fruitful outputs towards wideband, intelligent and integrated HF communications. Specifically, we first present brief preliminaries on the unique features of HF communications to facilitate general readers in the communication community. Then, we provide a historical review to show the technical evolution on the three generations of HF communication systems. Further, we highlight the key challenges and research directions. | 3 | Consensus-based decentralized clustering for cooperative spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks显示文摘A large number of previous works have demonstrated that cooperative spectrum sensing(CSS) among multiple users can greatly improve detection performance.However,when the number of secondary users(SUs;i.e.,spectrum sensors) is large,the sensing overheads(e.g.,time and energy consumption) will likely be intolerable if all SUs participate in CSS.In this paper,we proposed a fully decentralized CSS scheme based on recent advances in consensus theory and unsupervised learning technology.Relying only on iteratively information exchanges among one-hop neighbors,the SUs with potentially best detection performance form a cluster in an ad hoc manner.These SUs take charge of CSS according to an average consensus protocol and other SUs outside the cluster simply overhear the sensing outcomes.For comparison,we also provide a decentralized implementation of the existing centralized optimal soft combination(OSC) scheme.Numerical results show that the proposed scheme has detection performance comparable to that of the OSC scheme and outperforms the equal gain combination scheme and location-awareness scheme.Meanwhile,compared with the OSC scheme,the proposed scheme significantly reduces the sensing overheads and does not require a priori knowledge of the local received signal-to-noise ratio at each SU. | WU QiHui DING GuoRu WANG JinLong LI XiaoQiang HUANG YuZhen | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,28: | 10 |

| 5 | Proactive optimization of transmission power and 3D trajectory in UAV-assisted relay systems with mobile ground users显示文摘In this paper,an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)-assisted relay communication system is studied,where a UAV is served as a flying relay to maintain a communication link between a mobile source node and a remote destination node.Specifically,an average outage probability minimization problem is formulated firstly,with the constraints on the transmission power of the source node,the maximum energy consumption budget,the transmission power,the speed and acceleration of the flying UAV relay.Next,the closed-form of outage probability is derived,under the hybrid line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight probability channel model.To deal with the formulated nonconvex optimization,a long-term proactive optimization mechanism is developed.In particular,firstly,an approximation for line-of-sight probability and a reformulation of the primal problem are given,respectively.Then,the reformulated problem is transformed into two subproblems:one is the transmission power optimization with given UAV’s trajectory and the other is the trajectory optimization with given transmission power allocation.Next,two subproblems are tackled via tailoring primal–dual subgradient method and successive convex approximation,respectively.Furthermore,a proactive optimization algorithm is proposed to jointly optimize the transmission power allocation and the three-dimensional trajectory.Finally,simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm under various parameter configurations. | Jiangchun GU Guoru DING Yitao XU Haichao WANG Qihui WU | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,3: | 7 |

| 8 | Broadband rhenium disulfide optical modulator for solid-state lasers显示文摘Rhenium disulfide(ReS_2), a member of group Ⅶ transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs), has attracted increasing attention because of its unique distorted 1T structure and electronic and optical properties, which are much different from those of group Ⅵ TMDs(MoS_2, WS_2, MoSe_2, WSe_2, etc.). It has been proved that bulk ReS_2 behaves as a stack of electronically and vibrationally decoupled monolayers, which offers remarkable possibilities to prepare a monolayer ReS_2 facilely and offers a novel platform to study photonic properties of TMDs. However,due to the large and layer-independent bandgap, the nonlinear optical properties of ReS_2 from the visible to midinfrared spectral range have not yet been investigated. Here, the band structure of ReS_2 with the introduction of defects is simulated by the ab initio method, and the results indicate that the bandgap can be reduced from 1.38 to 0.54 eV with the introduction of defects in a suitable range. In the experiment, using a bulk ReS_2 with suitable defects as the raw material, a few-layered broadband ReS_2 saturable absorber(SA) is prepared by the liquid phase exfoliation method. Using the as-prepared ReS_2 SA, passively Q-switched solid-state lasers at wavelengths of 0.64,1.064, and 1.991 μm are investigated systematically. Moreover, with cavity design, a femtosecond passively modelocked laser at 1.06 μm is successfully realized based on the as-prepared ReS_2 SA for the first time. The results present a promising alternative for a rare broadband optical modulator and indicate the potential of ReS_2 in generating Q-switched and mode-locked pulsed lasers. | 9 | Supplementing daidzein in diets improves the reproductive performance, endocrine hormones and antioxidant capacity of multiparous sows显示文摘Certain hormones play important roles in modulating mammalian reproductive behaviour.Daidzein is a well-known isoflavonic phytoestrogen that possesses oestrogenic activity.This study was conducted to probe the effects of daidzein supplementation in gestation diets on the reproductive performance in sows.A total of 120 multiparous sows(Landrace x Yorkshire)were randomly assigned to 2 groups(n=60)and fed either a base diet(control)or one containing 200 mg/kg daidzein during gestation.We discovered that daidzein supplementation significantly increased the total number of piglets born per litter and number of piglets born alive per litter(P<0.05),decreased the farrowing time(P<0.05)and increased the serum oestrogen and progesterone concentrations(P<0.05)at 35 d of gestation.Moreover,serum immunoglobulin G(IgG)concentration and superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)activities were higher in the daidzein-treated group than in the control group at35 d of gestation(P<0.05).Daidzein increased the serum SOD activity and total anti-oxidative capacity(T-AOC)at 85 d of gestation(P<0.05).Interestingly,daidzein elevated the expression levels of the sodium-coupled neutral amino acid transporter 1(SLC38 A1)and insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF-1)genes in the placenta(P<0.05).These results suggest that daidzein ingestion could improve sow reproductive performance by changing serum hormones,elevating anti-oxidative capacity and upregulating critical functional genes in the placenta. | Yan Li Guoru He Daiwen Chen Bing Yu Jie Yu Ping Zheng Zhiqing Huang Yuheng Luo Junqiu Luo Xiangbing Mao Hui Yan Jun He | 2021 | Animal Nutrition2021,,4: | 4 |

| 13 | 3D Printing of Well Dispersed Electrospun PLGA Fiber Toughened Calcium Phosphate Scaffolds for Osteoanagenesis显示文摘Although the toughening of Calcium phosphate(CaP)scaffold by the addition of fiber has been well recognized,integrated mechanical,structural and functional considerations have been neglected in the design and fabrication of CaP scaffold implant.The emerging 3D printing provides a promising technique to construct CaP scaffold with precise size and elaborate microstructure.However,the most challenge is to extrude smoothly the CaP paste containing fibers for frequently-used extrusion-based 3D printing.In this study,frozen section and chemical dispersant(Pluronic F127,F127)were employed jointly to prepare non-aggregated polylactic-co-glycolic acid(PLGA)fibers.The injectability of CaP pastes with well dispersed PLGA fibers was more than 90%when the content of PLGA fibers was no more than 3 wt%.Meanwhile rheological property of CAP pastes with well dispersed fibers showed shear thinning,which were both beneficial to extrude CaP paste with well dispersed fibers for 3D printing.Moreover,these CaP scaffolds showed ductile fracture behavior due to the pullout and bridging effect of PLGA fibers.The cell proliferation and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity indicated that 3D printed CAP scaffold containing PLGA fibers possesses excellent biocompatibility and facilitate osteogenic differentiation ability.Thus,it was feasible to print CaP pastes with well dispersed PLGA fibers to construct toughening CaP scaffolds with the higher shape fidelity and complex structures,which had significant clinical potentials in osteoanagenesis due to their higher toughness and excellent biocompatibility. | Guoru Zhao Rongwei Cui You Chen Sijie Zhou Chen Wang Zhangmei Hu Xiaoke Zheng Maohong Li Shuxin Qu | 2020 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,4: | 2 |

[Methods]At first,actinomycetes strains were isolated from 22 soil samples in Hainan sugarcane regions. Then,antagonistic actinomycetes against U. scitaminea were screened by confrontation culture. Finally,the taxonomic status of antagonistic actinomycetes was determined using 16 S rD NA. [Results] From the 22 samples,984 actinomycetes strains were isolated. From all the isolated strains,23 antagonistic actinomycetes strains were obtained through primary screening,and one strains with better antagonistic effect was then obtained through secondary screening,and designated FAS. 16 S rD NA identification showed that strain FAS shared 99% sequence similarity with Streptomyces cealestis US24. A phylogenetic tree was built with MAGE 7. 0 software,and the results showed that strain FAS had the shortest genetic distance with S. caelestis US24. Therefore,the actinomycetes FAS was determined as S. caelestis. | 20 | Urban Stormwater Modeling with Local Inertial Approximation Form of Shallow Water Equations: A Comparative Study显示文摘This study focused on the performance and limitations of the local inertial approximation form model(LIM)of the shallow water equations(SWEs)when applied in urban flood modeling.A numerical scheme of the LIM equations was created using finite volume method with a first-order spatiotemporal Roe Riemann solver.A simplified urban stormwater model(SUSM)considering surface and underground dual drainage system was constructed based on LIM and the US Environmental Protection Agency Storm Water Management Model.Moreover,a complete urban stormwater model(USM)based on the SWEs with the same solution algorithm was used as the evaluation benchmark.Numerical results of the SUSM and USM in a highly urbanized area under four rainfall return periods were analyzed and compared.The results reveal that the performance of the SUSM is highly consistent with that of the USM but with an improvement in computational efficiency of approximately 140%.In terms of the accuracy of the model,the SUSM slightly underestimates the water depth and velocity and is less accurate when dealing with supercritical flow in urban stormwater flood modeling.Overall,the SUSM can produce comparable results to USM with higher computational efficiency,which provides a simplified and alternative method for urban flood modeling. | Weiqi Wang Wenjie Chen Guoru Huang | 2021 | International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2021,12,5: | 1 |
