| 1 | Paleogene Tectonic Evolution Controls on Sequence Stratigraphic Patterns in the Central Part of Deepwater Area of Qiongdongnan Basin, Northern South China Sea显示文摘In active rift basins, tectonism is extremely important for sequence stratigraphic patterns, affecting both the sequence architecture and internal makeup. Sequence stratigraphic framework of a Paleogene rift succession in Qiongdongnan Basin, northern South China Sea, was built using seismic profiles, complemented by well logs and cores. One first-order and three second-order sequences were identified on the basis of basin-scale unconformities, and seven third-order sequences are defined by unconformities along the basin margins and correlative conformities within the central basin. Through unconformity analysis and backstripping procedure, the Paleogene synrift tectonic evolution of deepwater area of Qiongdongnan Basin was proved to be episodic, which can be divided into rifting stage-I, rifting stage-II and rifting stage-III. Episodic rifting resulted in the formation of various types of structural slope break belts, which controlled different architectures and internal makeup of sequences. | 2 | Plate tectonic control on the formation and tectonic migration of Cenozoic basins in northern margin of the South China Sea显示文摘The tectonic evolution history of the South China Sea(SCS) is important for understanding the interaction between the Pacific Tectonic Domain and the Tethyan Tectonic Domain,as well as the regional tectonics and geodynamics during the multi-plate convergence in the Cenozoic.Several Cenozoic basins formed in the northern margin of the SCS,which preserve the sedimentary tectonic records of the opening of the SCS.Due to the spatial non-uniformity among different basins,a systematic study on the various basins in the northern margin of the SCS constituting the Northern Cenozoic Basin Group(NCBG) is essential.Here we present results from a detailed evaluation of the spatial-temporal migration of the boundary faults and primary unconformities to unravel the mechanism of formation of the NCBG.The NCBG is composed of the Beibu Gulf Basin(BBGB),Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB),Pearl River Mouth Basin(PRMB) and Taixinan Basin(TXNB).Based on seismic profiles and gravity-magnetic anomalies,we confirm that the NE-striking onshore boundary faults propagated into the northern margin of the SCS.Combining the fault slip rate,fault combination and a comparison of the unconformities in different basins,we identify NE-striking rift composed of two-stage rifting events in the NCBG:an early-stage rifting(from the Paleocene to the Early Oligocene) and a late-stage rifting(from the Late Eocene to the beginning of the Miocene).Spatially only the late-stage faults occurs in the western part of the NCBG(the BBGB,the QDNB and the western PRMB),but the early-stage rifting is distributed in the whole NCBG.Temporally,the early-stage rifting can be subdivided into three phases which show an eastward migration,resulting in the same trend of the primary unconformities and peak faulting within the NCBG.The late-stage rifting is subdivided into two phases,which took place simultaneously in different basins.The first and second phase of the early-stage rifting is related to back-arc extension of the Pacific subduction retreat system.The third phase of the earlystage rifting resulted from the joint effect of slab-pull force due to southward subduction of the proto-SCS and the back-arc extension of the Pacific subduction retreat system.In addition,the first phase of the late-stage faulting corresponds with the combined effect of the post-collision extension along the Red River Fault and slab-pull force of the proto-SCS subduction.The second phase of the late-stage faulting fits well with the sinistral faulting of the Red River Fault in response to the Indochina Block escape tectonics and the slab-pull force of the proto-SCS. | Pengcheng Wang Sanzhong Li Yanhui Suo Lingli Guo Guangzeng Wang Gege Hui M.Santosh Ian D.Somerville Xianzhi Cao Yang Li | 2020 | Geoscience Frontiers2020,11,4: | 10 |

The power level allocation is firstly investigated to meet each call’s Bit Error Rate (BER) requirement, then the system capacity is defined from the conditions for the exis-tence of the physical meaning of these power levels. | 4 | Sedimentary Facies, Sequence Stratigraphic Patterns in Pre-Cenozoic Inland Compressional Basin: Example from Early Yanshanian Succession of Eastern Yihezhuang Salient, Jiyang Depression, Bohai Bay Basin, China显示文摘To improve the success rate of locating hydrocarbon reservoirs in pre-Cenozoic inland compressional basins, taking the Early Yanshanian succession of eastern Yihezhuang salient as an example, this paper studied the sedimentary facies and sequence stratigraphic patterns. First, through seismic profiles, well logs, cores and outcrops, the sequence framework was established and internal sedimentary facies were identified. Further, according to analysis of single-wells and connecting-wells, the vertical evolution and horizontal distribution of sedimentation inside the sequence frameworks were discussed. The following results were acquired:(1) meandering river characterized by dual structures superposing each other was developed, and the dual structures can be further divided into three kinds;(2) the entire Early Yanshanian succession was interpreted as one first-order sequence, composed of three third-order sequences, including SQ-Fz1, SQ-Fz2 and SQ-St from bottom to top. Each third-order sequence can be further divided into three system tracts;(3) in different system tracts, different types of dual structures developed separately, and sedimentary bodies showed different horizontal distribution scales and vertical superposition patterns. Finally, the model of sequence stratigraphic patterns was established. | 5 | Sequence Stratigraphy and Sedimentary Facies of Lower Oligocene Yacheng Formation in Deepwater Area of Qiongdongnan Basin,Northern South China Sea:Implications for Coal-Bearing Source Rocks显示文摘For unveiling coal-bearing source rocks in terrestrial-marine transitional sequences, the sequence stratigraphic framework and sedimentary facies of Lower Oligocene Yacheng Formation of Qiongdongnan Basin were investigated using seismic profiles, complemented by well bores and cores. Three third-order sequences are identified on the basis of unconformities on basin margins and correlative conformities in the basin center, namely SQYC3, SQYC2 and SQYC1 from bottom to top. Coal measure in Yacheng Formation of Qiongdongnan Basin were deposited within a range of facies associations from delta plain/tidal zone to neritic sea, and three types of favourable sedimentary facies associations for coal measure were established within the sequence stratigraphic framework, including braided delta plain and alluvial fan, lagoon and tidal flat, and fan delta and coastal plain facies associations. Results shown that, in the third-order sequences, coal accumulation in landward areas(such as delta plain) of the study area predominantly correlates with the early transgressive systems tract(TST) to middle highstand systems tract(HST), while in seaward areas(such as tidal flat-lagoon) it correlates with the early TST and middle HST. The most potential coal-bearing source rocks formed where the accommodation creation rate(Ra) and the peat-accumulation rate(Rp) could reach a state of balance, which varied among different sedimentary settings. Furthermore, intense tectonic subsidence and frequent alternative marine-continental changes of Yacheng Formation during the middle rift stage were the main reasons why the coal beds shown the characteristics of multi-beds, thin single-bed, and rapidly lateral changes. The proposed sedimentary facies associations may aid in predicting distribution of coal-bearing source rocks. | 6 | Robust S-doped TiO_(2)@N,S-codoped carbon nanotube arrays as free-binder anodes for efficient sodium storage显示文摘Titanium dioxide(TiO_2) has been investigated broadly as a stable,safe,and cheap anode material for sodium-ion batteries in recent years.However,the poor electronic conductivity and inherent sluggish sodium ion diffusion hinder its practical applications.Herein,a self-template and in situ vulcanization strategy is developed to synthesize self-supported hybrid nanotube arrays composed of nitrogen/sulfur-codoped carbon coated sulfur-doped TiO_2 nanotubes(S-TiO_2@NS-C) starting from H_2 Ti_2 O_5-H_2 O nanoarrays.The S-TiO_2@NS-C composite with one-dimensional nano-sized subunits integrates several merits.Specifically,sulfur doping strongly improves the Na~+ storage ability of TiO_2@C-N nanotubes by narrowing the bandgap of original TiO_2.Originating from the nanoarrays structures built from hollow nanotubes,carbon layer and sulfur doping,the sluggish Na~+ insertion/extraction kinetics is effectively improved and the volume variation of the electrode material is significantly alleviated.As a result,the S-TiO_2@NS-C nanoarrays present efficient sodium storage properties.The greatly improved sodium storage performances of S-TiO_2@NS-C nanoarrays confirm the importance of rational engineering and synthesis of hollow array architectures with higher complexity. | Guangzeng Liu Man Huang Zhengchunyu Zhang Baojuan Xi Haibo Li Shenglin Xiong | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2: | 2 |
| 7 | Plate boundary processes of the Caroline Plate显示文摘The tectonic evolution of the Caroline Plate during the Oligocene to Early Miocene was mainly controlled by two fulcrums.The west fulcrum at Palau Island remained fixed during 29-25 Ma as the Ayu Trough rifted and produced the abyssal hills parallel to its boundaries,and the Pacific Plate and part of the Caroline Plate subducted to the north.At the northeast corner of the Caroline Plate,the east fulcrum is surrounded by a series of arc seamount chains.These chains resulted from the convergence between the Caroline Plate and the Pacific Plate and crustal softening of the northeastern Caroline Plate induced by the Caroline Hotspot at~25 Ma.This softening of the crust also led to the dysfunction of the east fulcrum,and the west fulcrum migrated south,which caused dextral motion along the Ayu Rift and the development of an en echelon structure.The Yap Trench was a part of the spreading center in the Parece-Vela Rift at~29 Ma.However,sinistral motion along the Parece-Vela Rift at around 20-15 Ma led to the exposure of the subducted Yap Trench and left a triangular region with distinctive geophysical characteristics in the surrounding area. | Zhen ZHANG Sanzhong LI Guangzeng WANG Yanhui SUO Gang WANG Pengcheng WANG | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,8: | 1 |
| 8 | Performance of iteratively decoded bit-interleaved coded modulation with chaos based interleaving strategies显示文摘Bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative decoding (BICM-ID) is a bandwidth efficient trans- mission scheme which is well suitable for next-generation mobile communications. The interleaver design is critical to the high performance of BICM-ID. In this paper we investigate the application of the chaos theory to the interleaver design to further improve the performance of BICM-ID. A new interleaving scheme based on the chaos theory is proposed. Compared with the random interleaver, the proposed approach has the ad- vantages including lower system delay and higher transmission efficiency. | 19 | Sulfur and nitrogen codoped cyanoethyl cellulose-derived carbon with superior gravimetric and volumetric capacity for potassium ion storage显示文摘We fabricated sulfur and nitrogen codoped cyanoethyl cellulose-derived carbons(SNCCs)with state-of-the-art electrochemical performance for potassium ion battery(PIB)and potassium ion capacitor(PIC)anodes.At 0.2,0.5,1,2,5,and 10 A g−1,the SNCC shows reversible capacities of 369,328,249,208,150,and 121 mA h g−1,respectively.Due to a high packing density of 1.01 g cm^(−3),the volumetric capacities are also uniquely favorable,being 373,331,251,210,151,and 122 mA h cm^(−3)at these currents,respectively.SNCC also shows promising initial Coulombic efficiency of 69.0%and extended cycling stability with 99.8%capacity retention after 1000 cycles.As proof of principle,an SNCC-based PIC is fabricated and tested,achieving 94.3Wh kg^(−1)at 237.5Wkg^(−1)and sustaining over 6000 cycles at 30 A g−1 with 84.5%retention.The internal structure of S and N codoped SNCC is based on highly dilated and defective graphene sheets arranged into nanometer-scale walls.Using a baseline S-free carbon for comparison(termed NCC),the role of S doping and the resultant dilated structure was elucidated.According to galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy analyses,as well as COMSOL simulations,this structure promotes rapid solid-state diffusion of potassium ions and a solid electrolyte interphase that is stable during cycling.X-ray diffraction was used to probe the ion storage mechanisms in SNCC,establishing the role of reversible potassium intercalation and the presence of KC36,KC24,and KC8 phases at low voltages. | Guangzeng Cheng Wenzhe Zhang Wei Wang Huanlei Wang Yixian Wang Jing Shi Jingwei Chen Shuai Liu Minghua Huang David Mitlin | 2022 | Carbon Energy2022,4,5: | 1 |
