3Preparation of DyFe_2 by the Reduction-Diffusion Process显示文摘The free energy change for the reduction-diffusion reaction which was used to prepare the DyFe2 Dy2 O3(s) + 3Ca(g) + 4Fe(s) = 3CaO(s) + 2DyFe2(s) intermetallic compound powder was calculated. The reduction-diffusion experiments were carried out at 1073, 1123. 1273 and 1373 K respectively using powders of Dy2O3, iron, and calcium grains as raw materials. 6Numerical simulation study on particle breakage behavior of granular materials in confined compression tests显示文摘In order to study the fragmentation law,the confined compression experiment of granular assemblies has been conducted to explore the particle breakage characteristic by DEM approach in this work.It is shown that contact and contact force during the loading process gradually transform from anisotropy to isotropy.Meanwhile,two particle failure modes caused by different contact force states are analyzed,which are single-through-crack failure and multi-short-crack failure.Considering the vertical distribution of the number of cracks and the four characteristic stress distributions(the stress related to the maximum contact force,the major principal stress,the deviatoric stress and the mean stress),it is pointed out that the stress based on the maximum contact force and the major principal stress can reflect the distribution of cracks accurately.In addition,the size effect of particle crushing indicates that small size particles are prone to break.The lateral pressure coefficient of four size particles during the loading process is analyzed to explain the reason for the size effect of particle breakage.Yang Yu Guangsi Zhao Minghui Ren 2023Particuology2023,,3:0
7Some thoughts on seismotectonics of major earthquake occurrence zones in China显示文摘A major earthquake occurrence zone means a place where M≥6 events have occurred since the Holocene and similar shocks may happen again in the future. The dynamic context of the major earthquake occurrence zones in China is primarily associated with the NNE-directed push of the India plate,next with the westward subduction of the Pacific plate. The Chinese mainland is a grand mosaic structure of many crust blocks bounded by faults and sutures. When it is suffered from boundary stresses,deformation takes place along these faults or sutures while the block interiors remain relatively stable or intact. Since the Quaternary,for example,left slip on the Xianshuihe-Xiaojiang fault zone in southwestern China has produced a number of fault-depression basins in extensional areas during periods Q1 and Q2. In the Q3,the change of stress orientation and enhancement of tectonic movement made faults of varied trends link each other,and continued to be active till present day,producing active fault zones in this region. Usually major earthquakes occur at some special locations on these active fault zones. During these events,in the epicenter areas experience intensive deformation characterized by large-amplitude rise and fall of neighboring sections,generation of horst-graben systems and dammed rivers. The studies on palaeoearthquakes suggest that major shocks of close magnitudes often repeated for several times at a same place. By comparison of the Chi-Chi,Taiwan event in 1999 and Yuza,Yunnan event in 1955,including contours of accelerations and intensities,destruction of buildings,and in contrast to the Xigeda formation in southwestern China,a sandwich model is established to account for the mechanism of deformation caused by major earthquakes. This model consists of three layers,i. e. the two walls of a fault and the ruptured zone intercalated between them. 8Identification and validation of major QTL for grain size and weight in bread wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)显示文摘Grain size and weight are key components of wheat yield.Exploitation of major underlying quantitative trait loci(QTL)can improve yield potential in wheat breeding.A recombinant inbred line(RIL)population was constructed to detect QTL for thousand-grain weight(TGW),grain length(GL)and grain width(GW)across eight environments.Genomic regions associated with grain size and grain weight were identified on chromosomes 4A and 6A using bulked segregant exome sequencing(BSE-Seq)analysis.After constructing genetic maps,six major QTL detected in at least four individual environments and in best linear unbiased estimator(BLUE)datasets,explained 7.50%-23.45%of the phenotypic variation.Except for QGl.cib-4A,the other five QTL were co-located in two regions,namely QTgw/Gw.cib-4A and QTgw/Gw/Gl.cib-6A.Interactions of these QTL were analyzed.Unlike QTgw/Gw/Gl.cib-6A,QTgw/Gw.cib-4A and QGl.cib-4A had no effect on grain number per spike(GNS).The QTL were validated in a second cross using Kompetitive Allele Specific PCR(KASP)markers.Since QTgw/Gw.cib-4A was probably a novel locus,it and the KASP markers reported here can be used in wheat breeding.TraesCS4A03G0191200 was predicted to be potential candidate gene for QTgw/Gw.cib-4A based on the sequence differences,spatiotemporal expression patterns,gene annotation and haplotype analysis.Our findings will be useful for fine mapping and for marker-assisted selection in wheat grain yield improvement.Guangsi Ji Zhibin Xu Xiaoli Fan Qiang Zhou Liangen Chen Qin Yu Simin Liao Cheng Jiang Bo Feng Tao Wang 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,2:0
