| 1 | Curcumin reverses T cell-mediated adaptive immune dysfunctions in tumor-bearing hosts显示文摘Immune dysfunction is well documented during tumor progression and likely contributes to tumor immune evasion.CD81 cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs)are involved in antigen-specific tumor destruction and CD41 T cells are essential for helping this CD81 T cell-dependent tumor eradication.Tumors often target and inhibit T-cell function to escape from immune surveillance.This dysfunction includes loss of effector and memory T cells,bias towards type 2 cytokines and expansion of T regulatory(Treg)cells.Curcumin has previously been shown to have antitumor activity and some research has addressed the immunoprotective potential of this plant-derived polyphenol in tumor-bearing hosts.Here we examined the role of curcumin in the prevention of tumor-induced dysfunction of T cell-based immune responses.We observed severe loss of both effector and memory T-cell populations,downregulation of type 1 and upregulation of type 2 immune responses and decreased proliferation of effector T cells in the presence of tumors.Curcumin,in turn,prevented this loss of T cells,expanded central memory T cell(TCM)/effector memory T cell(TEM)populations,reversed the type 2 immune bias and attenuated the tumor-induced inhibition of T-cell proliferation in tumor-bearing hosts.Further investigation revealed that tumor burden upregulated Treg cell populations and stimulated the production of the immunosuppressive cytokines transforming growth factor(TGF)-b and IL-10 in these cells.Curcumin,however,inhibited the suppressive activity of Treg cells by downregulating the production of TGF-b and IL-10 in these cells.More importantly,curcumin treatment enhanced the ability of effector T cells to kill cancer cells.Overall,our observations suggest that the unique properties of curcumin may be exploited for successful attenuation of tumor-induced suppression of cell-mediated immune responses. | Sankar Bhattacharyya Dewan Md Sakib Hossain Suchismita Mohanty Gouri Sankar Sen Sreya Chattopadhyay Shuvomoy Banerjee Juni Chakraborty Kaushik Das Diptendra Sarkar Tanya Das Gaurisankar Sa | 2010 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2010，7，4： | 7 |

| 3 | Improved Cycle Properties of FeS_2 Cathode Material with Metallic Additives显示文摘Iron disulfide(FeS_2)cathode active material was prepared from iron and sulfur at room temperature by high energy mechanical alloying.Modified FeS_2 composites containing Co or Ni transition metal powders as additives were also prepared by the same method.Lithium cells with these FeS_2 cathodes were studied for charge-discharge properties at room temperature using 0.5M LiTFSI in tetra(ethylene glycol)dimethyl ether(TEGDME)solvent.Cyclic voltammetry showed two anodic oxidation peaks at 1.8 and 2.5V and two cathodic reduction peaks at 2.0 and 1.3 V for FeS_2 with metal additives.The addition of 5wt% Co and 3wt% Ni resulted in an enhancement of the first discharge capacity giving 571 and 844mAh/g respectively at 0.1C-rate.The cycle performance was also enhanced remarkably by the addition of these electrically conductive transition metals in the active material.FeS_2 with 5wt% Co exhibited a stable cycle performance delivering a reversible capacity of 338mAh/g(37.8% of theoretical capacity)after 20 cycles. | Jae-Won Choi Jae-Kwang Kim Gouri Cheruvally Jou-Hyeon Ahn Ki-Won Kim Hyo-Jun Ahn Dong-Kyu Park | 2007 | 材料科学与工程学报2007，25，6： | 4 |

| 19 | SARS-CoV-2, surgeons and surgical masks显示文摘The exact risk association of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)for surgeons is not quantified which may be affected by their risk of exposure and individual factors.The objective of this review is to quantify the risk of COVID-19 among surgeons,and explore whether facemask can minimise the risk of COVID-19 among surgeons.A systematised review was carried out by searching MEDLINE to locate items on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or COVID-19 in relation to health care workers(HCWs)especially those work in surgical specialities including surgical nurses and intensivists.Additionally,systematic reviews that assessed the effectiveness of facemask against viral respiratory infections,including COVID-19,among HCWs were identified.Data from identified articles were abstracted,synthesised and summarised.Fourteen primary studies that provided data on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection or experience among surgeons and 11 systematic reviews that provided evidence of the effectiveness of facemask(and other personal protective equipment)were summarised.Although the risk of COVID-19 could not be quantified precisely among surgeons,about 14%of HCWs including surgeons had COVID-19,there could be variations depending on settings.Facemask was found to be somewhat protective against COVID-19,but the HCWs’compliance was highly variable ranging from zero to 100%.Echoing surgical societies’guidelines we continue to recommend facemask use among surgeons to prevent COVID-19. | Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil Gouri Rani Banik Sarab Mansoor Amani S Alqahtani Harunor Rashid | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021，9，10： | 1 |
