| 1 | Magnesium matrix composites for biomedical applications:A review显示文摘In recent years,a new wave of bioactive,biocompatibility and biodegradable metallic materials were developed for orthopedic applications.Pure Magnesium,Magnesium alloys,Magnesium alloy-based composites are extensive material to the biomedical applications,by virtue of its high biocompatibility and reasonable strength.Pure magnesium,Magnesium alloys can corrode too fast during the physiological conditions and loses their properties before bone heal.The new era for the development of magnesium-based composites can satisfy the orthopedic applications.Magnesium-based composites,as bio-materials,can produce adjustable mechanical properties like Ultimate tensile strength,ductility,elastic modulus,and corrosion resistance in the physiological conditions.In the Mg based composites,the matrix materials are biomedical magnesium alloys base like Mg-Ca,Mg-Al,Mg-Zn,and Mg-REE alloy and The reinforcements are based on hydroxyapatite(HAP),calcium polyphosphate(CPP),andβ-tricalcium phosphate(β-TCP)particles.This comprehensive review is focused on different grades of biodegradable magnesium matrix composites including their mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. | Vijay Kumar Bommala Mallarapu Gopi Krishna ChTirumala Rao | 2019 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2019，7，1： | 12 |
| 2 | Science Letters:Alterations in seedling vigour and antioxidant enzyme activities in Catharanthus roseus under seed priming with native diazotrophs显示文摘An experiment was conducted on Catharanthus roseus to study the effect of seed treatments with native diazotrophs on its seedling growth and antioxidant enzyme activities. The treatments had significant influence on various seedling parameters. There is no significant influence on dry matter production with the diazotrophs, Azospirillum and Azotobacter. However, the vital seedling parameters such as germination percentage and vigour index were improved. Azotobacter treatment influenced maximum of 50% germination, whereas Azospirillum and Azotobacter were on par with C. roseus with respect to their vigour index. There was significant difference in the population of total diazotrophs. Azospirillum and Azotobacter between rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soils of C. roseus had the same trend and were observed at various locations of the study. The activities of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POX) and catalase (CAT) were increased to a significant extent due to the treatment with diazotrophs. | KARTHIKEYAN B. | 3 | 结核病的性别差异:南印度某农村地区DOTS项目报告显示文摘背景:南印度 Tiruvallur 地区。目的:了解 14 岁以上成年人在结核感染和患病、就医途径、就医行为、诊断延误、接受 DOT的方便程度、疾病歧视以及治疗依从性等方面的性别差异。方法:相关数据主要来自:1)社区调查,2)在公立初级保健卫生机构(PHIS)主动就医的病人,3)转诊到 PHIS 进行痰涂片检查的可疑结核病人;4)DOTS 策略下的登记报告结核病人。并将社区调查结果与 PHIS 登记病人进行比较。结果:社区人群中 66%的男性和 57%的女性感染了结核菌;男性和女性的涂阳肺结核患病率分别为568/10 万和87/10 万。在 PHIS 就医的男性少于女性,男女之比为 68:100。女性占社区调查发现涂阳病人的 13%;占 PHIS 发现病人的 20%(P<0.05)。随着年龄的增长,男性和女性的登记率显著降低。女性感觉难于与家人讨论自己病情的比例要高于男性(21%∶14%),也更需要有人陪伴去接受 DOT(11%∶6%)。男性的治疗中断率比女性高 1 倍(19%∶8%;P<0.01)。结论:尽管女性发病后更容易遭受歧视和不便,但女性更易于利用医疗服务、接受 DOTS 策略登记以及依从治疗。而男性以及高龄病人在诊断和 DOT服务方面更需要帮助。 | R. | 5 | Sonochemical synthesis of nanostructured nickel hydroxide as an electrode material for improved electrochemical energy storage application显示文摘A facile and fast approach for the synthesis of a nanostructured nickel hydroxide(Ni(OH)_2) via sonochemical technique is reported in the present study. The X-ray diffraction results confirmed that the synthesized Ni(OH)_2 was oriented in β-phase of hexagonal brucite structure. The nanostructured Ni(OH)_2 electrode exhibited the maximum specific capacitance of 1256 F/g at a current density of 200 mA/g in 1 M KOH_((aq)). Ni(OH)_2 electrodes exhibited the pseudocapacitive behavior due to the presence of redox reaction. | 7 | Antibacterial potential of sponge endosymbiont marine Enterobacter sp at Kavaratti Island,Lakshadweep archipelago显示文摘Objective:To isolate antibacterial potential of sponge endosymbiotic bacteria from marine sponges at Lakshadweep archipelago.Also to identify the potent bacteria by 16s rDNA sequencing and determine the antibacterial activity against clinical pathogens by MIC.Methods: Sponge samples was collected from sub-tidal habitats at Kavaratti Island and identified.The endosymbiotic bacteria were isolated and selected potential bacteria which show antibacterial activity in preliminary screening against clinical pathogens Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus), Escherichia coli(E.coli),Salmonella typhi(S.typhi),Klebsiella pneumoniea(K.pneumoniea) and Streptococcus sp.by disc diffusion assay.The crude extracts of potential bacteria LB3 was tested against clinical pathogens by MIC.The LB3 strain was identified by 16s rDNA sequencing, 1111 bp was submitted in NCBI(HQ589912) and constructed phylogenetic tree.Results:Sponge sample was identified as Dysidea granulosa(D.granulosa) and potential bacteria LB3 identified as Enterobacter sp TTAG.Preliminary screening of sponge isolates against clinical pathogens,LB3 strain was selected as potential producer of secondary metabolites and crude extract was implies on MIC of LB3 have confirmed with lowest concentration of 5.0 mg/mL in broth medium influence of crude extract on growth inhibitory activity after 5 h of incubation period and completed the inhibitory activity at 15 h.Conclusions:The present study concluded that phylogenetic analysis of endosymbiotic bacteria Enterobacter sp from sponge D.granulosa of Lakshadweep islands showed significant antibacterial activity against clinical bacterial pathogens. | Mohan Gopi Subramanian Kumaran Thipparamalai Thangappanpillai Ajith Kumar Balaraman Deivasigamani Kumarappan Alagappan Srinivasan Guru Prasad | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2012，5，2： | 2 |
| 8 | Feature sensitive re-sampling of point set surfaces with Gaussian spheres显示文摘Feature sensitive simplification and re-sampling of point set surfaces is an important and challenging issue for many computer graphics and geometric modeling applications.Based on the regular sampling of the Gaussian sphere and the surface normals mapping onto the Gaussian sphere,an adaptive re-sampling framework for point set surfaces is presented in this paper,which includes a naive sampling step by index propagation and a novel cluster optimization step by normalized rectification.Our proposed re-sampling scheme can generate non-uniformly distributed discrete sample points for the underlying point sets in a feature sensitive manner.The intrinsic geometric features of the underlying point set surfaces can be preserved efficiently due to our adaptive re-sampling scheme.A novel splat rendering technique is adopted to illustrate the efficiency of our re-sampling scheme.Moreover,a numerical error statistics and surface reconstruction for simplified models are also given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm in term of the simplified quality of the point set surfaces. | MIAO YongWei BOSCH Jonas PAJAROLA Renato GOPI M.
