| 1 | Recent advances in fermentative biohydrogen production显示文摘Hydrogen energy, as a kind of clean energy with great potential, has been a hotspot for study worldwide. Based on the recent research on biohydrogen production, this paper gives a brief review on the following aspects: fermentative hydrogen production process and the engineering control statagy, key factors affecting the effciency of hydrogen production, such as substrates, cysteine, metal ions, anaerobic fermentation terminal products, and formic acid and ammonia. Moreover, anaerobic fermentative hydrogen-producing strain and reg- ulation and control of enzyme gene in fermentative hydrogen production are also discussed. | 2 | Emerging systemic delivery strategies of oncolytic viruses:A key step toward cancer immunotherapy显示文摘Oncolytic virotherapy(OVT)is a novel type of immunotherapy that induces anti-tumor responses through selective self-replication within cancer cells and oncolytic virus(OV)-mediated immunostimulation.Notably,talimogene laherparepvec(T-Vec)developed by the Amgen company in 2015,is the first FDA-approved OV product to be administered via intratumoral injection and has been the most successful OVT treatment.However,the systemic administration of OVs still faces huge challenges,including in vivo pre-existing neutralizing antibodies and poor targeting delivery efficacy.Recently,state-of-the-art progress has been made in the development of systemic delivery of OVs,which demonstrates a promising step toward broadening the scope of cancer immunotherapy and improving the clinical efficacy of OV delivery.Herein,this review describes the general characteristics of OVs,focusing on the action mechanisms of OVs as well as the advantages and disadvantages of OVT.The emerging multiple systemic administration approaches of OVs are summarized in the past five years.In addition,the combination treatments between OVT and traditional therapies(chemotherapy,thermotherapy,immunotherapy,and radiotherapy,etc.)are highlighted.Last but not least,the future prospects and challenges of OVT are also discussed,with the aim of facilitating medical researchers to extensively apply the OVT in the cancer therapy. | Weiyue Ban Jianhuan Guan Hanwei Huang Zhonggui He Mengchi Sun Funan Liu Jin Sun | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,5: | 2 |
| 3 | Draft Genome of White-blotched River Stingray Provides Novel Clues for Niche Adaptation and Skeleton Formation显示文摘The white-blotched river stingray(Potamotrygon leopoldi)is a cartilaginous fish native to the Xingu River,a tributary of the Amazon River system.As a rare freshwater-dwelling cartilaginous fish in the Potamotrygonidae family in which no member has the genome sequencing information available,P.leopoldi provides the evolutionary details in fish phylogeny,niche adaptation,and skeleton formation.In this study,we present its draft genome of 4.11 Gb comprising 16,227 contigs and 13,238 scaffolds,with contig N50 of 3937 kb and scaffold N50 of 5675 kb in size.Our analysis shows that P.leopoldi is a slow-evolving fish that diverged from elephant sharks about 96 million years ago.Moreover,two gene families related to the immune system(immunoglobulin heavy constant delta genes and T-cell receptor alpha/delta variable genes)exhibit expansion in P.leopoldi only.We also identified the Hox gene clusters in P.leopoldi and discovered that seven Hox genes shared by five representative fish species are missing in P.leopoldi.The RNA sequencing data from P.leopoldi and other three fish species demonstrate that fishes have a more diversified tissue expression spectrum when compared to mammals.Our functional studies suggest that lack of the gc gene encoding vitamin D-binding protein in cartilaginous fishes(both P.leopoldi and Callorhinchus milii)could partly explain the absence of hard bone in their endoskeleton.Overall,this genome resource provides new insights into the niche adaptation,body plan,and skeleton formation of P.leopoldi,as well as the genome evolution in cartilaginous fishes. | Jingqi Zhou Ake Liu Funan He Yunbin Zhang Libing Shen Jun Yu Xiang Zhang | 2023 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,3: | 0 |
