| 1 | Simultaneous intraductal papillary neoplasms of the bile duct and pancreas treated with chemoradiotherapy显示文摘Some authors have suggested that intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the bile duct(IPMN-B) could be the the biliary counterpart of IPMN of the pancreas(IPMN-P) since they share several clinical-pathological features.These include prominent intraductal papil-lary proliferation pattern,a gastrointestinal phenotype,frequent mucin hyper-secretion and progression to mu-cinous carcinoma.To date there are just four reported cases of patients with synchronous IPMN-B and IPMN-P all of which were treated surgically.We hereby report the case of a 76-year-old woman who was incidentally diagnosed with both an asymptomatic 3 cm bulky uid lesion obstructing the bile duct lumen,diagnosed as a malignant IPMN-B,and synchronous multiple pancreatic cystic lesions(10-13 mm) communicating with an irreg-ular Wirsung,diagnosed as branch duct IPMN-P.Since surgery was ruled-out because of the patient's age and preferences,she underwent a conservative manage-ment regimen comprising both chemotherapy and radio-therapy.This was effective in decreasing the mass size and in resolving subsequent jaundice.This is also the f irst reported case of IPMN-B successfully treated with chemoradiotherapy.Clinicians should consider medical treatment as an option in this clinical scenario,in pa-tients who may be unf it for surgery. | Roberto Valente Gabriele Capurso Paola Pierantognetti Elsa Iannicelli Matteo Piciucchi Adriana Romiti Paolo Mercantini Alberto Larghi Giulia Francesca Federici Viola Barucca Maria Falchetto Osti Emilio Di Giulio Vincenzo Ziparo Gianfranco Delle Fave | 2012 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2012,4,2: | 13 |
| 2 | Adjuvant radiochemotherapy for gastric cancer:should weuse prognostic factors to select patients?显示文摘Radiotherapy has a not well-established role in the pre-operative and in the post-operative setting in gastric cancer(GC) patients. Randomized trials report controversial outcomes and impact on survival. In the D2 loco-regional node resection era, after a wellperformed radical surgery, local treatment using radiotherapy combined to chemotherapy should be considered for locally advanced GC. Prognostic factors could help the better selection of subgroups that present high risk of loco-regional recurrence. Then, the addition of radiotherapy could improve the diseasefree survival and also quality of life. There are no large prospective studies that have assessed specific factors predicting for recurrence or survival, but only retrospective series, some of them including high number of patients with homogeneous characteristics. In locally advanced GC adding radiotherapy to the postoperative chemotherapy seems to improve outcomes and quality of life. Prognostic factors such as T-stage, N-status, nodal ratio, and other histological factors should be considered to submit patients to postoperative combined treatment. Larger prospective series are necessary to investigate the role of combined chemoradiation after radical D2-resection, especially in locally advanced GC. | 17 | Influence of computation algorithm on the accuracy of rut depth measurement显示文摘Rutting is one of the dominant pavement distresses,hence,the accuracy of rut depth measurements can have a substantial impact on the maintenance and rehabilitation(M &R) strategies and funding allocation.Different computation algorithms such as straightedge method and wire line method,which are based on the same raw data,may lead to rut depth estimation which are not always consistent.Therefore,there is an urgent need to assess the impact of algorithm types on the accuracy of rut depth computation.In this paper,a 13-point-based laser sensor detection technology,commonly accepted in China for rut depth measurements,was used to obtain a database of 85,000 field transverse profiles having three representative rutting shapes with small,medium and high severity rut levels.Based on the reconstruction of real transverse profiles,the consequences from two different algorithms were compared.Results showed that there is a combined effect of rut depth and profile shape on the rut depth computation accuracy.As expected,the difference between the results obtained with the two computation methods increases with deeper rutting sections:when the distress is above 15 mm(severe level),the average difference between the two computation methods is above 1.5 mm,normally,the wire line method provides larger results.The computation suggests that the rutting shapes have a minimal influence on the results.An in-depth analysis showed that the upheaval outside of the wheel path is a dominant shape factor which results in higher computation differences. | Di Wang Augusto Cannone Falchetto Matthias Goeke Weina Wang Tiantian Li Michael P.Wistuba | 2017 | Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2017,4,2: | 0 |

| 20 | Experimental investigation of asphalt mixture containing Linz-Donawitz steel slag显示文摘Standard asphalt mixtures for road infrastructures consist of natural aggregate and bitumen. A number of research efforts have successfully investigated the possibility of replacing the conventional aggregate skeleton with industrial by-products such as slag originating from steel production process. However, little is known on the effect of steel slag on the mixtures performance properties such as resistance to low-temperature cracking and to permanent deformation, stiffness and fatigue. This paper presents a comprehensive investigation on the fundamental performance properties of different types of asphalt mixtures prepared with 100% LD slag aggregate and a conventional asphalt mixture containing natural Gabbro aggregate. Sophisticated testing methods were used to evaluate the key performance parameters for the set of asphalt mixtures investigated. In this study, low temperature cracking was addressed through thermal stress restrained specimen tests. Penetration tests and cyclic compression tests were used to evaluate the response of asphalt binder and asphalt mixture to permanent deformation due repeated loading, respectively. The cyclic indirect tensile test was selected for investigating both stiffness properties and fatigue resistance. For this purpose the complex stiffness modulus was measured to quantify material stiffness under different temperature and loading conditions providing information on the visco-elasto-plastic material behavior. Fatigue tests were used to determine the progressive and localized material damage caused by cyclic loading.
