| 1 | Arrhythmogenic ventricular cardiomyopathy:A paradigm shift from right to biventricular disease显示文摘Arrhythmogenic ventricular cardiomyopathy(AVC) isgenerally referred to as arrhythmogenic right ventricu-lar(RV) cardiomyopathy/dysplasia and constitutesan inherited cardiomyopathy.Affected patients maysuccumb to sudden cardiac death(SCD),ventriculartachyarrhythmias(VTA) and heart failure.Geneticstudies have identified causative mutations in genesencoding proteins of the intercalated disk that lead toreduced myocardial electro-mechanical stability.Theterm arrhythmogenic RV cardiomyopathy is somewhatmisleading as biventricular involvement or isolated leftventricular(LV) involvement may be present and thus abroader term such as AVC should be preferred.The di-agnosis is established on a point score basis accordingto the revised 2010 task force criteria utilizing imagingmodalities,demonstrating fibrous replacement throughbiopsy,electrocardiographic abnormalities,ventricu-lar arrhythmias and a positive family history includingidentification of genetic mutations.Although severarisk factors for SCD such as previous cardiac arrest,syncope,documented VTA,severe RV/LV dysfunctionand young age at manifestation have been identified,risk stratification still needs improvement,especially inasymptomatic family members.Particularly,the roleof genetic testing and environmental factors has to befurther elucidated.Therapeutic interventions include re-striction from physical exercise,beta-blockers,sotalol,amiodarone,implantable cardioverter-defibrillators andcatheter ablation.Life-long follow-up is warranted insymptomatic patients,but also asymptomatic carriersof pathogenic mutations. | Ardan M Saguner Corinna Brunckhorst Firat Duru | 2014 | World Journal of Cardiology2014，6，4： | 10 |
| 2 | Mechanisms of the alternative activation of macrophages and non-coding RNAs in the development of radiation-induced lung fibrosis显示文摘Radiation-induced lung fibrosis(RILF) is a common side effect of thoracic irradiation therapy and leads to high mortality rates after cancer treatment. Radiation injury induces inflammatory M1 macrophage polarization leading to radiation pneumonitis, the first stage of RILF progression. Fibrosis occurs due to the transition of M1 macrophages to the anti-inflammatory pro-fibrotic M2 phenotype, and the resulting imbalance of macrophage regulated inflammatory signaling. Non-coding RNA signaling has been shown to play a large role in the regulation of the M2 mediated signaling pathways that are associated with the development and progression of fibrosis. While many studies show the link between M2 macrophages and fibrosis, there are only a few that explore their distinct role and the regulation of their signaling by non-coding RNA in RILF. | 3 | Measurement of choroidal thickness and macular thickness during and after pregnancy显示文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of pregnancy on subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT) and macular thickness in both pregnant and not pregnant healthy women.METHODS: Twenty-nine healthy pregnant women in their third trimester and 36 age-matched healthy women were enrolled in a prospective, cross-sectional study.Foveal and parafoveal thickness in the four quadrants and SFCT were measured by optical coherence tomography(OCT) in the healthy pregnant women(i.e.study group) and healthy women(i.e. control group).OCT measurements were again measured 3mo after delivery in the study group.RESULTS: Mean SFCT measurements in the control group, pregnant women of the study group, and after delivery of the study group were 320.86 ±59.18 μm,387.97 ±59.91 μm, and 332.40 ±26.03 μm, respectively.There was a statistically significant difference in the mean SFCT values between pregnant women of the study group and the control group(P =0.000). Foveal and parafoveal thickness values were not statistically significant in either the study or control group.CONCLUSION: SFCT increases during pregnancy and returns to normal range in the three months after delivery. | 4 | Keratinocyte 生长 factor-2 和自体同源的浆液加强处于在老鼠的角膜损坏的间充质的干细胞的再生效果显示文摘AIM:To investigate the healing process after severe corneal epithelial damage in rats treated with mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)cultured with or without keratinocyte growth factor(KGF-2)and autologous serum(AS)on amniotic membrane(AM).Many patients are blind and devastated by severe ocular surface diseases due to limbal stem cell deficiency.Bone marrow-derived MSCs are potential sources for cellbased tissue engineering to repair or replace the corneal tissue,having the potential to differentiate to epithelial cells.METHODS:The study included 5 groups each including 10 female'Sprague Dawley'rats in addition to20 male rats used as bone marrow donors.Group I rats received AM+MSCs,Group II rats AM+MSCs cultured with KGF-2,Group III rats AM+MSCs cultured with KGF-2+AS,Group IV rats only AM and Group V rats,none.AS was derived from blood drawn from male rats and bone marrow was obtained from the femur and tibia bones of the same animals.Therapeutic effect was evaluated with clinical,histopathological and immunohistochemical assessment.MSC engraftment was demonstrated via detection of donor genotype(Y+)in the recipient tissue(X)with polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS:Corneal healing was significantly better in Groups I-III rats treated with MSC transplantation compared to Group IV and Group V rats with supportive treatment only.The best results were obtained in Group III rats with 90%transparency,70%lack of neovascularization,and 100%epithelium damage limited to less than 1/4 of cornea.CONCLUSION:We suggest that culture of MSCs with KGF-2 and AS on AM is effective in corneal repair in case of irreversible damage to limbal stem cells. | Ferda Alpaslan Pinarli Gülsen Okten Umit Beden Tunc Fisgin Mehmet Kefeli Nurten Kara Feride Duru Leman Tomak | 2014 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2014，7，2： | 4 |
