1Static Recrystallization and Precipitation Behavior of a Weathering Steel Microalloyed with Vanadium显示文摘The static recrystallization(SRX)and precipitation behavior of a weathering steel microalloyed with vanadium were investigated through double-pass compression tests under controlled conditions using the MMS-300thermal-mechanical simulator.The deformation temperatures ranged from 800 C to 1000 C,and the interpass time from 1 s to 500 s.The simulation results showed that SRX occurred after 5e10 s at the first compression deformation.The softening fraction of SRX was found to increase with increasing the deformation temperature and the pre-strain.However,the softening fraction scarcely changed during the process of strain-induced precipitation.In addition,the kinetics of SRX was described by the Avrami equation,and the Avrami exponent appeared to be closely associated with the deformation temperature.The microstructure evolution was investigated at the initiation and completion of recrystallization.The amount and distribution of the precipitates were analyzed.The relationship between the driving force of SRX and the pinning force of precipitation was discussed.Besides,the recrystallization inhibition was detected at the early stage of precipitation,and the pinning forces were found to be of a magnitude comparable to the driving force.Moreover,the pinning forces were found to increase with the degree of precipitation and reach a peak at the intermediate stage of precipitation,and finally reduce as the particles coarsened.Hongyan Wu Linxiu Du Zhengrong Ai Xianghua Liu 2013Journal of Materials Science & Technology2013,29,12:8
2Relationship between microstructure and hydrogen induced cracking behavior in a low alloy pipeline steel显示文摘Hydrogen induced cracking(HIC) behaviors of a high strength pipeline steel with three different microstructures, granular bainite & lath bainite(GB + LB), granular bainite & acicular ferrite(GB + AF), and quasi-polygonal ferrite(QF), were studied by using corrosion experiment based on standard NACE TM0284. The HIC experiment was conducted in hydrogen sulfide(H_2S)-saturated solution. The experimental results show that the steel with GB + AF and QF microstructure present excellent corrosion resistance to HIC, whereas the phases of bainite lath and martensite/austenite in LB + GB microstructure are responsible for poor corrosion resistance. Compared with ferrite phase, the bainite microstructure exhibits higher strength and crack susceptibility of HIC. 6Effect of Austempering Route on Microstructural Characterization of Nanobainitic Steel显示文摘A low-temperature nanobainitic steel was obtained through one-step and two-step austempering.The effect of austempering temperature,time,and route on bainitic lath width,volume fraction of retained austenite,carbon concentration in retained austenite,and nanohardness of bainitic lath and retained austenite was studied.Results showed that the transformation kinetics was slowed down and the bainitic lath was refined as the austempering temperature decreased from300 to 250 ℃ Both coarser and finer bainitic laths were obtained with the two-step austempering,which was consistent with the lath size at 300 and 250 ℃ austempering,respectively.X-ray diffraction analysis showed that both volume fraction of retained austenite and its carbon concentration decreased with the decrease of austempering temperature for the one-step austempering,and especially the carbon concentration is obviously increased when the two-step austempering is adopted.The nanohardness of the bainitic lath in the sample after two-step austempering treated lies between that of the samples after 300 and 250 ℃ austempering treated.The product of tensile strength and total elongation of the two-step austempered sample is the highest,which increases monotonously with the product of retained austenite fraction and its carbon concentration.Higher strength-ductility balance may be resulted by the fine bainitic lath,high volume fraction,and high stability of retained austenite in the sample after two-step austempered.Huifang Lan Linxiu Du Na Zhou Xianghua Liu 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,1:3
7Effect of Coiling Temperature on Ti(C,N) Precipitation and Properties of Batch Annealed DC06EK Enamel Steel显示文摘The effects of hot-strip coiling temperature on Ti(C,N) precipitation, texture and hydrogen permeation behavior in DC06 EK enamel steel were investigated by TEM, EBSD test and electrochemical hydrogen permeation experiment. It was found that the Ti(C,N) particles in hot-strip coarsened with increasing coiling temperature, whereas after cold-rolling and annealing, the size difference of Ti(C,N) particles was lessened. The hot-strip coiling temperature has a significant impact on the recrystallized texture in the subsequent cold-rolled and annealed sheet. Hot-strip using high temperature(700 ℃) coiling leads to strong {111} recrystallized texture in annealed sheet, with peak intensity 9.2. On the contrary, in annealed sheets using hot-strip coiling at 650 ℃, their {111} recrystallized textures were weaker, which was also reflected in their rmvalues. 8Microstructure and mechanical properties of X80 pipeline steels in different cooling schedules显示文摘The microstructures and mechanical properties of three X80 pipeline steel plates were investigated in this study.The plates were hot rolled by two stages, and cooled by three different cooling schedules to obtain different microstructures and mechanical properties.Transmission electron microscope(TEM) was used to observe the microstructure.The results indicated that the amount of polygonal ferrite(PF) and quasi-polygonal ferrite(QPF) decreased with decreasing of the finish cooling temperature(FCT), while the amount and size of M-A islands were larger.Relaxation promoted the Charpy V-notch(CVN) impact toughness at-20℃, but not the drop weight tear testing(DWTT) property at-15℃, and decreased the strength of the steel.Min ZHOU Linxiu DU Xianghua LIU 2010Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2010,23,3:2

10Dynamic Recrystallization and Precipitation Behavior of Mn-Cu-V Weathering Steel显示文摘The hot deformation behavior of a Mn-Cu-V weathering steel was investigated at temperatures ranging from 850 to 1050℃ and strain rates ranging from 0.01 to 5 s-1 using MMS-300 thermal-mechanical simulator. The activation energy for dynamic recrystallization and stress exponent were calculated to be 551 kJ/mol and 7.73, respectively. The accurate values of critical strain were determined by the relationship between work hardening rate and flow stress (θ-σ) curves. The hyperbolic sine constitutive equation was employed to describe the relationship between the peak stress and Zener-Hollomon parameter during hot deformation. The interaction between dynamic recrystallization and dynamic precipitation of V(C,N) at a low strain rate was analyzed. The results showed that precipitation particles size of weathering steel increased with increasing strain at deformation temperature 950℃ and strain rate 0.1 s-1. The calculation results of the recrystallization driving force and pinning force showed that dynamic precipitation could retard the progress of dynamic recrystallization but not prevent it while the pinning forces is less than driving force. 11Effect of boron addition on the microstructures and mechanical properties of thermomechanically processed and tempered low carbon bainitic steels显示文摘Thermomechanical process and tempering heat treatment were employed to produce the experimental steel plates. The effect of boron addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of low carbon bainitic steels was studied in this paper. Microstructure observation and crystallographic features were conducted by using optical microscopy, SEM, TEM and electron back scattering diffraction (EBSD) analysis. The results showed that under the same rolling processes and heat treatment conditions, a substantial increase in strength is obtained by addition of boron into steel, but accompanied by an obvious drop in toughness. New martensite phase forms along the grain boundaries on tempering at 650 C mainly due to boron segregation, which can further deteriorate impact toughness of the boron bearing steel. The EBSD analysis showed that high angle grain boundary is not responsible for the deteriorated toughness of the boron bearing steel because it has relatively higher percentage of high angle grain boundary than the boron free steel. 12Growth behavior of ultrafine austenite grains in microalloyed steel显示文摘Ultrafine austenite grains (UFAGs) with size of 1–5 μm were prepared through repet- itive treatment, four times, of rapid heating and quenching, and the growth behaviors of these UFAGs during both the reheating and cooling stages were investigated. The results indicated that UFAGs without pinning particles appeared with significant coarsening when the reheating temperature reached 1000 °C. 14Effect of Rolling Process on Comprehensive Properties of Corrosion Resistant Steel for Bottom Plate of Cargo Oil Tanks显示文摘A new kind of corrosion resistant steelfor cargo oiltanks(COT)was developed.The influences of finalrolling temperature,cooling rate,and finalcooling temperature on microstructure were investigated.The proper rolling process parameters were obtained through multi-pass thermalsimulation test.The finalrolling temperature is about 820 ℃,the finalcooling temperature is about 600 ℃,and the cooling rate should be controlled between 10 ℃/s and 20 ℃/s.Based on the above analysis of the results,three groups of rolling samples by thermo mechanicalcontrolprocess are prepared.The tensile strength,yield strength,and toughness of the corrosion resistant steelare measured,which meet the requirements of DH36 steel,it can instruct the actualrolling production.The corrosion behaviour is also researched by weight loss and electrochemicalimpedance spectroscopic method,and it is found that the steelhas good corrosion resistance performance,the best one is No.3 steel,the corrosion rate of which is about 1/4 of the accepted criterion.于驰 王平 GAO Xiuhua DU Linxiu 2016Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2016,31,2:1
15Enhanced mechanical stability of ultrafine grained steel through intercritical annealing cold rolled martensite显示文摘The ultrafine grained ferritic steels possess high strength but low ductility due to the shortage of work hardening.Fine grained ferrite-martensite dual phase microstructure was obtained in a microalloyed steel and low carbon steels through intercritical annealing of the cold rolled martensite.The dual phase microstructure was uniform and the ferrite grain size was smaller in the microalloyed steel resulted from the pinning effect of microalloyed precipitates.But ferrite grown apparently and the volume fraction of the martensite was much higher without the addition of microalloying elements.By introducing martensite into the fine grained ferrite,the work hardening was effectively improved,leading to better mechanical stability.As a result of the fine ferrite grain size as well as uniform distribution of the martensite,the work hardening was enhanced,showing better strength-ductility balance in the microalloyed dual phase steel.Huifang LAN Xianghua LIU Linxiu DU 2012Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2012,25,6:1

18Fabrication and Microstructural Control of Nano-structured Bulk Steels: A Review显示文摘There exist strong interests of developing nano-grained steels because of the outstanding properties including high strength/weight ratio, wear resistance, excellent toughness, and favorable cellular activity. This article reviews the main fabrication process and microstructural control of nano-structured steels over the last decades. Severe plastic deformation is considered as an effective route of obtaining the nano-grained microstructures. The process of cold-rolling and annealing of martensitic steel is a viable method to obtain bulk nano-structured low carbon steel, while the final thickness of the cold-rolling plate is limited. According to the theoretical results of the thermal simulation studies, a novel alloy design combined with the rapid transformation and rolling process is proposed to successfully fabricate nano-grained high strength bulk steel. The refinement mechanisms are expected to be taking advantage of increase in the transformation nucleation sites and inhibiting the grain coarsening. 20Microstructural Evolution and Toughness in the HAZ of Submerged Arc Welded Low Welding Crack Susceptibility Steel显示文摘Microstructural characteristics of different sub-regions of heat affected zone (HAZ) of low welding crack susceptibility steel weldment were investigated by using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy equipped with electron backscattered diffraction system. And the focus was put on the correlation between microstructural characteristics and HAZ toughness of the weldment. The results reveal that the toughness of fusion line zone (FLZ) specimens is much lower than that of fine grained HAZ (FGHAZ) specimens. The coarse inclusions in the weld metal and the large martensite-austenite constituents in the coarse grained HAZ (CGHAZ) have an obvious negative effect on the crack initiation energy of FLZ. Meanwhile, the coarse granular bainite with large effective grain decreases the crack propagation energy seriously.
