| 1 | Cancer stem cell markers CD133 and CD24 correlate with invasiveness and differentiation in colorectal adenocarcinoma显示文摘AIM:To verify that CD markers are available for detecting cancer stem cell populations and to evaluate their clinical significance in colon cancer.METHODS:Immunohistochemistry for CD133,CD24 and CD44 was performed on the tissue microarray of 523 colorectal adenocarcinomas.Medical records were reviewed and clinicopathological analysis was performed.RESULTS:In colorectal adenocarcinoma,128 of 523 cases(24.5%) were positive and 395 cases(75.5%) were negative for CD133 expression.Two hundred and sixty-four of 523 cases(50.5%) were positive and 259 cases(49.5%) were negative for CD24 expression.Five hundred and two of 523 cases(96%) were negative and 21 cases(4%) were positive for CD44 expression.Upon clinicopathological analysis,CD133 expression was present more in male patients(P = 0.002) and in advanced T stage cancer(P = 0.024).Correlation between CD24 expression and clinicopathological factors was seen in the degree of differentiation(P = 0.006).Correlation between CD44 expression and clinicopathological factors was seen in the tumor size(P = 0.001).Survival was not significantly related to CD133,CD24 and CD44 expression.CONCLUSION:CD markers were related to invasiveness and differentiation of colorectal adenocarcinoma.However,CD expression was not closely related to survival. | Dongho Choi Hyo Won Lee Kyung Yul Hur Jae Joon Kim Gyeong-Sin Park Si-Hyong Jang Young Soo Song Ki-Seok Jang Seung Sam Paik | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，18： | 14 |

| 3 | Security Enhanced Anonymous User Authenticated Key Agreement Scheme Using Smart Card显示文摘Nowadays, the password-based remote user authentication mechanism using smart card is one of the simplest and convenient authentication ways to ensure secure communications over the public network environments. Recently, Liu et al. proposed an efficient and secure smart card based password authentication scheme. However, we find that Liu et al.'s scheme is vulnerable to the off-line password guessing attack and user impersonation attack. Furthermore, it also cannot provide user anonymity. In this paper, we cryptanalyze Liu et al.'s scheme and propose a security enhanced user authentication scheme to overcome the aforementioned problems. Especially, in order to preserve the user anonymity and prevent the guessing attack, we use the dynamic identity technique. | 7 | Retrieval of the Single Scattering Albedo of Asian Dust Mixed with Pollutants Using Lidar Observations显示文摘The vertical distribution of single scattering albedos(SSAs) of Asian dust mixed with pollutants was derived using the multi-wavelength Raman lidar observation system at Gwangju(35.10°N, 126.53°E). Vertical profiles of both backscatter and extinction coefficients for dust and non-dust aerosols were extracted from a mixed Asian dust plume using the depolarization ratio from lidar observations. Vertical profiles of backscatter and extinction coefficients of non-dust particles were input into an inversion algorithm to retrieve the SSAs of non-dust aerosols. Atmospheric aerosol layers at different heights had different light-absorbing characteristics. The SSAs of non-dust particles at each height varied with aerosol type, which was either urban/industrial pollutants from China transported over long distances at high altitude, or regional/local pollutants from the Korean peninsula. Taking advantage of independent profiles of SSAs of non-dust particles, vertical profiles of SSAs of Asian dust mixed with pollutants were estimated for the first time, with a new approach suggested in this study using an empirical determination of the SSA of pure dust. The SSAs of the Asian dust–pollutants mixture within the planetary boundary layer(PBL) were in the range 0.88–0.91, while the values above the PBL were in the range 0.76–0.87, with a very low mean value of 0.76 ± 0.05. The total mixed dust plume SSAs in each aerosol layer were integrated over height for comparison with results from the Aerosol Robotics Network(AERONET) measurements.
