1Contrast induced neurotoxicity following coronary angiogram with Iohexol in an end stage renal disease patient显示文摘Neurotoxicity is an infrequent adverse reaction to iodinated contrast agents. Contrast induced neurotoxicity following coronary angiogram is very rare. Renal disease is a risk factor for contrast induced neurotoxicity. We report a case of contrast induced neurotoxicity following coronary angiogram and intervention using Iohexol(Omnipaque 350) in an end stage renal disease patient on peritoneal dialysis who had prior exposure to iodinated contrast without any adverse reaction. Hemodialysis had to be initiated for rapid removal of the contrast agent with subsequent complete resolution of neurological deficits. This case highlights the need for interventionalists to be aware of an important adverse reaction to iodinated contrast agents, especially in individuals with renal dysfunction, and that neurotoxicity is a possibility even with prior uneventful exposures. The role and timing of hemodialysis in contrast induced neurotoxicity in patients with chronic kidney disease and in those without chronic kidney disease needs further deliberation.Narasimha Swamy Gollol Raju Deepak Joshi Ramesh Daggubati Assad Movahed 2015World Journal of Clinical Cases2015,3,11:8
2Predicting suitability of different scale-dependent dispersivities for reactive solute transport through stratified porous media显示文摘In this paper, the behavior of breakthrough curves(BTCs) for reactive solute transport through stratified porous media is investigated.A physical laboratory model for layered porous media was constructed,in which thin layer of gravel was sandwiched in between two thick layers of natural soil.Gravel layer and natural soil layers were hydraulically connected as single porous continuum.A constant source of tracer was connected through gravel layer and elucidated at different sampling points in the direction of flow.Flexible multiprocess non-equilibrium(MPNE) transport equation with scale-dependent dispersivity function was used to simulate experimental BTCs of reactive solute transport through layered porous media. The values of equilibrium sorption coefficient and other input parameters were obtained experimentally. The simulation of BTC was performed using MPNE model with scale-dependent dispersivity. The simulation of different scale-dependent dispersivities was then compared and it was found that for field scale of estimation of dispersivity, asymptotic and exponential dispersivity functions performed better. In continuation to the comparison of simulated BTCs obtained using different models, spatial moment analysis of each aforesaid scale-dependent dispersivity model was also done.Spatial moment analysis provides the information related to mean solute mass, rate of mass travel, and mean plume dispersion.Linear and constant dispersivities showed higher variance as compared to asymptotic and exponential dispersion functions. This supports the field applicability of asymptotic and exponential dispersivity functions. The BTCs were also found to elucidate a nonzero concentration with time, which was clearly affected by physical non-equilibrium.In natural condition, such information is required in effective aquifer remediation process.Deepak Swami Abhimanyu Sharma Pramod Kumar Sharma Dericks P.Shukla 2016Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2016,8,6:2

4Neutronic analysis of Indian helium-cooled solid breeder tritium breeding module for testing in ITER显示文摘India has proposed the helium-cooled solid breeder blanket concept as a tritium breeding module to be tested in ITER.The module has lithium titanate for tritium breeding and beryllium for neutron multiplication.Beryllium also enhances tritium breeding.A design for the module is prepared for detailed analysis.Neutronic analysis is performed to assess the tritium breeding rate, neutron distribution, and heat distribution in the module. The tritium production distribution in submodules is evaluated to support the tritium transport analysis. The tritium breeding density in the radial direction of the module is also assessed for further optimization of the design. The heat deposition profile of the entire module is generated to support the heat removal circuit design. The estimated neutron spectrum in the radial direction also provides a more in-depth picture of the nuclear interactions inside the material zones. The total tritium produced in the HCSB module is around 13.87 mg per full day of operation of ITER,considering the 400 s ON time and 1400 s dwell time. The estimated nuclear heat load on the entire module is around 474 kW,which will be removed by the high-pressure helium cooling circuit. The heat deposition in the test blanket model(TBM)is huge(around 9 GJ)for an entire day of operation of ITER,which demonstrates the scale of power that can be produced through a fusion reactor blanket. As per the Brayton cycle,it is equivalent to 3.6 GJ of electrical energy. In terms of power production, this would be around 1655 MWh annually. The evaluation is carried out using the MCNP5 Monte Carlo radiation transport code and FEDNL 2.1 nuclear cross section data. The HCSB TBM neutronic performance demonstrates the tritium production capability and high heat deposition.H L SWAMI Deepak SHARMA C DANANI P CHAUDHARI R SRINIVASAN Rajesh KUMAR 2022Plasma Science and Technology2022,24,6:0
