| 1 | Enteral nutrition and immune modulation of acute pancreatitis显示文摘Enteral nutrition has been strongly recommended by major scientific societies for the nutritional management of patients with acute pancreatitis.Providing severe acute pancreatitis patients with enteral nutrition within the first 24-48 h of hospital admission can help improve outcomes compared to parenteral nutrition and no feeding.New research is focusing in on when and what to feed to best improve outcomes for acute pancreatitis patients.Early enteral nutrition have the potential to modulate the immune responses.Despite this consistent evidence of early enteral nutrition in patients with acute pancreatitis,clinical practice continues to vary due to individual clinician preference.Achieving the immune modulating effects of enteral nutrition heavily depend on proper placement of the feeding tube and managing any tube feeding associated complications.The current article reviews the immune modulating effects of enteral nutrition and pro-and prebiotics and suggests some practical tools that help improve the patient adherence and tolerance to the tube feeding.Proper selection of the type of the tube,close monitoring of the tube for its placement,patency and securing its proper placement and routine checking the gastric residual volume could all help improve the outcome.Using peptide-based and high medium chaintriglycerides feeding formulas help improving feeding tolerance. | Refaat A Hegazi Tiffany De Witt | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,43: | 24 |
| 2 | Bone tissue engineering via growth factor delivery:from scaffolds to complex matrices显示文摘In recent years,bone tissue engineering has emerged as a promising solution to the limitations of current gold standard treatment options for bone related-disorders such as bone grafts.Bone tissue engineering provides a scaffold design that mimics the extracellular matrix,providing an architecture that guides the natural bone regeneration process.During this period,a new generation of bone tissue engineering scaffolds has been designed and characterized that explores the incorporation of signaling molecules in order to enhance cell recruitment and ingress into the scaffold,as well as osteogenic differentiation and angiogenesis,each of which is crucial to successful bone regeneration.Here,we outline and critically analyze key characteristics of successful bone tissue engineering scaffolds.We also explore candidate materials used to fabricate these scaffolds.Different growth factors involved in the highly coordinated process of bone repair are discussed,and the key requirements of a growth factor delivery system are described.Finally,we concentrate on an analysis of scaffold-based growth factor delivery strategies found in the recent literature.In particular,the incorporation of two-phase systems consisting of growth factor-loaded nanoparticles embedded into scaffolds shows great promise,both by providing sustained release over a therapeutically relevant timeframe and the potential to sequentially deliver multiple growth factors. | Tinke-Marie De Witte Lidy E.Fratila-Apachitei Amir A.Zadpoor Nicholas A.Peppas | 2018 | Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,4: | 12 |
| 3 | 应用改良的枕下乙状窦后入路显微外科手术切除大型岩斜区脑膜瘤显示文摘目的介绍应用改良的枕下乙状窦后入路显微外科手术切除大型岩斜区脑膜瘤的方法和经验。方法枕下乙状窦后骨窗形成后,注意将横窦、乙状窦轮廓。切开硬膜后充分向外侧和向上牵开。通过颅神经间隙完成肿瘤的内减压后,分离肿瘤与颅神经及脑干的粘连并分块切除。如果肿瘤向中颅凹延伸,可切开部分天幕后向上切除肿瘤。如果肿瘤向枕骨大孔延伸,可将乙状窦后入路与枕下远外侧入路结合起来加以切除。对于MRI显示具有侵袭性特征,侵犯海绵窦或脑干的肿瘤,不应追求肿瘤的全切除,“脑干减压”成为手术的主要目标。结果肿瘤全切除9例(60%)。手术后新增颅神经损害6例(40%)。半年随访恢复良好者13例(86.6%)。结论应用简单的枕下乙状窦后入路,结合一些新的技术改良处理大型岩斜区脑膜瘤,可获得满意的手术疗效。 | 冯东侠 Oliver De Witte | 2004 | 中华神经外科杂志2004,20,4: | 3 |
| 4 | An overview of translational(radio)pharmaceutical research related to certain oncological and non-oncological applications显示文摘Translational medicine pursues the conversion of scientific discovery into human health improvement.It aims to establish strategies for diagnosis and treatment of diseases.Cancer treatment is difficult.Radiopharmaceutical research has played an importantrole in multiple disciplines,particularly in translational oncology.Based on the natural phenomenon of necrosis avidity,Onco Ci Dia has emerged as a novel generic approach for treating solid malignancies.Under this systemic dual targeting strategy,a vascular disrupting agent first selectively causes massive tumor necrosis that is followed by iodine-131 labeled-hypericin(123IHyp),a necrosis-avid compound that kills the residual cancer cells by crossfire effect of beta radiation.In this review,by emphasizing the potential clinical applicability of Onco Ci Dia,we summarize our research activities including optimization of radioiodinated hypericin Hyp preparations and recent studies on the biodistribution,dosimetry,pharmacokinetic and,chemical and radiochemical toxicities of the preparations.Myocardial infarction is a global health problem.Although cardiac scintigraphy using radioactive perfusion tracers is used in the assessment of myocardial viability,searching for diagnostic imaging agents with authentic necrosis avidity is pursued.Therefore,a comparative study on the biological profiles of the necrosis avid 123I-Hyp and the commercially available 99mTc-Sestamibi was conducted and the results are demonstrated.Cholelithiasis or gallstone disease may cause gallbladder inflammation,infection and other severe complications.While studying the mechanisms underlying the necrosis avidity of Hyp and derivatives,their naturally occurring fluorophore property was exploited for targeting cholesterol as a main component of gallstones.The usefulness of Hyp as an optical imaging agent for cholelithiasis was studied and the results are presented.Multiple uses of automatic contrast injectors may reduce costs and save resources.However,cross-contaminations with bloodborne pathogens of infectious diseases may occur.We developed a radioactive method for safety evaluation of a new replaceable patient-delivery system.By mimicking pathogens with a radiotracer,we assessed the feasibility of using the system repeatedly without septic risks.This overview is deemed to be interesting to those involvedin the related fields for translational research. | Marlein Miranda Cona Peter de Witte Alfons Verbruggen Yicheng Ni | 2013 | World Journal of Methodology2013,3,4: | 2 |
