| 1 | Trace Elements Characteristics of Black Shales from the Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation, Hubei Province, South China: Implications for Redox and Open vs. Restricted Basin Conditions显示文摘In the present study, we carried out trace element analyses of black shales of the Ediacaran Doushantou Formation from two sections(Jiulongwan, Baiguoyuan) in Hubei Province, South China. Mo-U characteristics of black shales from the two sections and compiled Mo-U data of Doushantuo black shales from sections of a variety of sedimentary facies described the temporal/spatial variability in the redox conditions of paleo-seawater during deposition of the Doushantuo Formation. Changes in Mo-U patterns of the Doushantuo Member Ⅱ(DST2) shales of open marine environments are consistent with a shift from a predominately oxic to a predominately anoxic ocean during their deposition. Mo-U patterns of the DST2 black shales from intra-shelf sections reflect basin restriction may have happened in the intra-shelf basin and are compatible with the redox-stratified model of the intra-shelf basin. Mo-U patterns of black shales of the Doushantuo Member IV(DST4) reveal that the shales from intra-shelf sections have more pronounced Mo enrichment and more significant enrichment of Mo over U than the slope shales, indicating the operation of a Mn particulate shuttle in the intra-shelf basin. | 2 | Metal Sealing Performance of Subsea X-tree Wellhead Connector Sealer显示文摘The metal sealing performance of subsea X-tree wellhead connectors is crucial for the safety and reliability of subsea X-trees. In order to establish the theoretical relation between metal sealing ring's contact stress and its structural parameters and working pressure, a mechanical analysis method for double-cone sealing of high pressure vessels is applied in analyzing the metal sealing ring under the condition of preload and operation. As a result, the formula of the unit sealing load for the metal sealing ring under operation with residual preload is shown in this paper, which ensures that the metal sealing ring has an excellent sealing effect and can prevent the metal sealing ring from yielding. Besides, while analyzing the sealing process of the metal sealing ring, the change rule of contact stress and working pressure is concluded here, putting forward that the structural parameters of the metal sealing ring are the major factors affecting the change rule. Finally, the analytical solution through theoretical analysis is compared with the simulation result through finite element analysis in a force feedback experiment, and both are consistent with each other, which fully verifies for the design and calculation theory on metal sealing ring's contact stress and its structural parameters and working pressure deduced in this paper. | 3 | Rare Earth Element Geochemistry of Phosphatic Rocks in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in Hushan Section from the Yangtze Gorges Area, South China显示文摘Phosphatic rocks are widely distributed in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in Yangtze Gorges Area, South China. In this study, rare earth element geochemistry of eight phosphatic rock samples from the Hushan Section has been studied. All the samples display typical hat-shaped REE patterns, moderate negative Ce anomalies(Ce/Ce*=0.55 to 0.67), slightly positive Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu*=1.05 to 1.22) and low Y/Ho ratios(38.2±5.6). The hat-shaped REE patterns indicate diagenetic alteration of the primary REE signatures, which coincides with detrital siliciclastic sources of REE based on the Y/Ho ratios. The degree of Negative Ce anomalies and positive Eu anomalies may have recorded the redox features of diagenetic fluids, suggesting an anoxic environment during the phosphogenesis processes in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation, South China. The geochemical comparison between the Lower Phosphorite Layer and Upper Phosphorite Layer at Hushan indicates a greater degree of diagenesis occurred in the Upper Layer than the Lower one. | 4 | Removal of dispersant-stabilized carbon nanotubes by regular coagulants显示文摘Coagulation followed by sedimentation,as a conventional technique in the water treatment plant,can be the first line of defense against exposures of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) to aquatic organisms and human beings,which has been rarely documented.This study investigated the removal of dispersant-stabilized CNT suspensions by poly aluminum chloride(PACl) and KAl(SO 4) 2 ·12H 2 O(alum),with a focus on the effects of dispersant type,coagulant type and dosage.PACl performed better than alum in the removal of tannic acid-,humic acid-,and sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate-stabilized CNTs,but worse for polyethylene glycol octylphenyl ether(TX100)-stabilized CNTs.Neither coagulant could effectively precipitate cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide-stabilized CNTs.The removal by PACl first increased up to a plateau and then decreased with the continued increase of coagulant dosage.However,the removal rates leveled off but did not decrease after achieving their highest level with the continued addition of alum.The coagulation and flocculation of the CNT suspensions by PACl could be regulated mainly by the mechanism of adsorption charge neutralization,whereas the coagulation by alum mainly involved electrical double-layer compression. | Ni Liu Changli Liu Jing Zhang Daohui Lin | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,8: | 6 |
| 5 | Sonication-assisted dispersion of carbon nanotubes in aqueous solutions of the anionic surfactant SDBS:The role of sonication energy显示文摘Sonication is a powerful technique to promote the dispersion of carbon nanotubes(CNTs) and enhance their solubility;this is necessary for CNT applications,especially in the biochemical and biomedical fields.In this study,batch experiments were conducted to evaluate the role of sonication energy on the dispersion of CNTs in the presence of a widely used anionic surfactant,sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS).It was observed that the concentration of dispersed CNTs in the SDBS solution depended on the sonication energy,but not the sonication time or output power of the sonicator alone.The amount of dispersed CNTs was positively correlated with the concentrations of SDBS and CNTs,and the length of the CNTs.The promotion of oxygen-containing functional groups on the dispersed CNTs was observed at relatively low sonication energies.The optimal energy,i.e.the minimum energy supplied by sonication to achieve a saturated suspension of dispersed CNTs in the SDBS solution,was CNT diameter-dependent,because of the larger vdW forces between tubes of smaller diameter.An exponential decay curve was constructed for the optimal energy values as a function of the outer CNT diameter,to assist in determining the energy needed to disperse CNTs. | YANG Kun YI ZiLi JING QingFeng YUE RenLiang JIANG Wei LIN DaoHui | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,18: | 5 |

| 7 | Organic Carbon Isotope Geochemistry of the Neoproterozoic Doushantuo Formation,South China显示文摘The Neoproterozoic Doushantuo Formation on the Yangtze Platform,South China,documents a sedimentary succession with different sedimentary facies from carbonate platform to slope and to deep sea basin,and hosts one of the world-class phosphorite deposits.In these strata,exquisitely preserved fossils have been discovered:the Weng’an biota.This study presents carbon isotope geochemistry which is associated paired carbonate and organic matter from the Weng’an section of a carbonate platform(shelf of the Yangtze Platform,Guizhou Province)from the Songtao section and Nanming section of a transition belt(slope of the Yangtze Platform,Guizhou Province)and from the Yanwutan section(basin area of the Yangtze Platform,Hunan Province).Environmental variations and bio-events on the Yangtze Platform during the Late Neoproterozoic and their causal relationship are discussed.Negative carbon isotope values for carbonate and organic carbon(mean δ13Corg = ?35.0‰)from the uppermost Nantuo Formation are followed by an overall increase in δ13C up-section.Carbon isotope values vary between ?9.9‰ and 3.6‰ for carbonate and between ?35.6‰ and ?21.5‰ for organic carbon,respectively.Heavier δ13Ccarb values suggest an increase in organic carbon burial,possibly related to increasing productivity(such as the Weng’an biota).The δ13C values of the sediments from the Doushantuo Formation decreased from the platform via the slope to basin,reflecting a reduced environment with minor dissolved inorganic carbon possibly due to a lower primary productivity.It is deduced that the classical upwelling process,the stratification structure and the hydrothermal eruption are principally important mechanisms to interpret the carbon isotopic compositions of the sediments from the Doushantuo Formation. | GUO Qingjun LIU Congqiang Harald STRAUSS Tatiana GOLDBERG ZHU Maoyan PI Daohui WANG Jian | 2006 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2006,80,5: | 3 |

| 9 | The effect of oxidation on physicochemical properties and aqueous stabilization of multiwalled carbon nanotubes:comparison of multiple analysis methods显示文摘Surface oxidation can alter physicochemical properties of multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) and influence their aqueous stabilization.Many techniques have been used to characterize the physicochemical properties and aqueous stabilization of MWCNTs.However,the relationship between the change in physicochemical property and the aqueous stabilization of MWCNTs merits more studies,and the multiple characterization techniques have not been well compared.This study systematically and comparatively investigated the effect of oxidation on the physicochemical properties and aqueous stabilization of MWCNTs using multiple analysis methods.Increased surface area,disclosed tube ends,defects on the sidewalls,disruption of the electronic structure,and removal of metal catalysts and amorphous carbon were observed for the oxidized MWCNTs(o-MWCNTs) using the multipoint Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) method,transmission electron microscope observation,Raman spectroscopy,UV-Vis spectroscopy,and thermogravimetric analysis.An oxidation-time-dependent increase in oxygen content of the MWCNTs was verified by the methods of elemental analysis,mass difference calculation,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,XPS,and the Boehm titration were employed to study the functionalities on the MWCNT surfaces.Despite the limitations of these techniques,the results indicated that the dramatic increase in carboxyl groups was mainly responsible for the significant increase in oxygen content after the oxidation.The dissociation of the grafted functional groups increased electronegativity of the o-MWCNTs and facilitated the aqueous stabilization of o-MWCNTs through electrostatic repulsions.The oxidation affected the UV-Vis absorbance of MWCNT suspensions.The absorbances at 800 nm of the stabilized MWCNT suspensions had a good correlation with the MWCNT concentrations and could be used to quantify the MWCNT suspensions.The findings of this work are expected to boost the research on carbon nanotubes and their environmental behaviors. | Luqing Zhang Minhao Wang Jing Fang Kun Yang Daohui Lin | 2016 | Science China Chemistry2016,59,11: | 2 |
| 10 | Zircon U–Pb dating of Pubei granite and strontium isotope from sphalerite of the Xinhua Pb–Zn–(Ag) deposit,Yunkai Area of Guangxi Province,South China显示文摘The Yunkai Area is located at the southern South China Block and is part of the Qinzhou Bay-Hangzhou Bay Metallogenic Belt, which is a famous polymetallic mineralization belt. The Xinhua Pb–Zn–(Ag)deposit is located in the western part of Yunkai Area, with an abundance of Pubei batholiths. Zircon U–Pb geochronology of Pubei batholiths shows that crystallization age ranges from 251.9 ± 2.2 to 244.3 ± 1.8 Ma, thus belonging to Indosinian orogeny. Geochemistry and Sr isotopic compositions of the Pubei batholiths show that it is derived from the partial melting of large scale crustal melting during the stage of exhumation and uplifting of the lower-middle crust. In addition, strontium isotope of sphalerite from the Xinhua Pb–Zn–(Ag) deposit, has limited ranges in ^(87)Rb/^(86)Sr and ^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr, ranging from 0.4077 to 1.0449, and 0.718720 to 0.725245, respectively. | 11 | Influence of longitudinal-torsional ultrasonic-assisted vibration on micro-hole drilling Ti-6Al-4V显示文摘As Ti-6 Al-4 V is a typical hard to machine material,especially in micro drilling aviation parts,chip breaking difficulty is of increasing interest to explore its further development.In this study,Longitudinal-Torsional Ultrasonic Assisted Drilling(LTUAD)was employed to machine Ti-6 Al-4 V,and its feasibility was evaluated by comparing with Conventional Drilling(CD).By combining periodical characteristics and vibration models(the separated or the unseparated ultrasonic elliptical vibration),the influence of ultrasonic frequency on the intersection characteristics of trajectories were analyzed.And the intersection characteristics were divided into four categories:even periodicity,odd periodicity,non-odd and even periodicity and composite periodicity,indicating different capability for chip breaking.By applying the longitudinal-torsional compound vibration horn,the micro-hole drilling experiment was carried out on machining center.The chip morphology,the thrust force,and the burr height were discussed.Experimental results showed that the morphology of chips presented as smaller and more fragmentary ones in LTUAD compared with continuous helical conical ones and fold-shaped ones in CD.Compared with CD,the average values of the thrust force in LTUAD reduced by 1.98%to 24.9%.According to the burr around the hole exit in both LTUAD and CD,the height of the latter was greatly affected by the drilling parameters.And the burr around the exit of the hole were distributed rather evenly with smaller extension in LTUAD.Consequently,the LTUAD employed in micro-hole drilling was effective. | Guofu GAO Ziwen XIA Zhaojie YUAN Daohui XIANG Bo ZHAO | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,9: | 2 |
