Application of Principal Component Analysis(PCA)to the Evaluation and Screening of Multiactivity Fungi显示文摘Continued innovation in screening methodologies remains important for the discovery of high-quality multiactive fungi, which have been of great significance to the development of new drugs.Mangrove-derived fungi, which are well recognized as prolific sources of natural products, are worth sustained attention and further study. In this study,118 fungi, which mainly included Aspergillus spp.(34.62%)and Penicillium spp.(15.38%),were isolated from the mangrove ecosystem of the Maowei Sea,and 83.1%of the cultured fungi showed at least one bioactivity in four antibacterial and three antioxidant assays. To accurately evaluate the fungal bioactivities, the fungi with multiple bioactivities were successfully evaluated and screened by principal component analysis(PCA),and this analysis provided a dataset for comparing and selecting multibioactive fungi.Among the 118 mangrove-derived fungi tested in this study,Aspergillus spp.showed the best comprehensive activity.Fungi such as A.clavatonanicus,A.flavipes and A.citrinoterreus, which exhibited high comprehensive bioactivity as determined by the PCA,have great potential in the exploitation of natural products and the development of new drugs. This study demonstrated the first use of PCA as a time-saving,scientific method with a strong ability to evaluate and screen multiactive fungi, which indicated that this method can affect the discovery and development of new drugs. | YANG Zonglin SHI Yaqi LI Pinglin PAN Kanghong LI Guoqiang LI Xianguo YAO Shuo ZHANG Dahai | 2022 | Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,3: | 4
Research progress in artificial upwelling and its potential environmental effects显示文摘Artificial upwelling, as a geoengineering tool, has received worldwide attention because it may actualize ocean fertilization in a sustainable way, which could potentially alleviate the pressures on the fish stocks and human-driven climate change in the ocean. We reviewed the current knowledge on the development of an artificial upwelling system and its potential environmental effects. Special attention was given to the research progress on the air-lift concept artificial upwelling by Zhejiang University. The research on artificial upwelling over the past few decades has generated a range of devices that have been successfully applied in the field for months. Based on field experiments and the associated modeling results, part of them reported positive effects on increasing primary production and enhancing CO2 sequestration. However, as a significant disturbance to the environment, especially for large-scale applications, the uncertainties related to the potential effects on ecosystem remain unsolved. Zhejiang University has overcome the technical challenges in designing and fabricating a robust and high efficiency artificial upwelling device which has been examined in two field experiments in Qiandao Lake and one sea trial in the East China Sea. It was investigated that cold and hypoxic deep ocean water(DOW) could be uplifted to the euphotic layer, which could potentially change the nutrient distribution and adjust the N/P ratio. Both simulation and field experiments results confirmed that utilizing self-powered energy to inject compressed air to uplift DOW was a valid and efficient method. Therefore, further field-based research on artificial upwelling, especially for long-term field research is required to test the scientific hypothesis. | PAN YiWen FAN Wei ZHANG DaHai CHEN JiaWang HUANG HaoCai LIU ShuXia JIANG ZongPei DI YaNan TONG MengMeng CHEN Ying | 2016 | Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,2: | 3
One-step synthesis of dimethyl ether from syngas on ordered mesoporous copper incorporated alumina显示文摘Ordered mesoporous copper incorporated Al_2O_3(Cu/Al_2O_3) with high Cu dispersion were prepared by a facile solution combustion synthesis method using aluminum nitrate and copper nitrate as oxidants and urea as fuel. It is a facile and green route to synthesize catalysts for dimethyl ether directly from syngas. Cu/Al_2O_3 catalysts were characterized by XRD, N_2 adsorption–desorption, SEM-EDS, and H_2-TPR.The results indicate that the catalysts obtain an ordered mesoporous structure and copper is homogenously dispersed. The mesoporous Cu/Al_2O_3 catalysts were utilized as bifunctional catalysts in syngas to dimethyl ether reaction(STD). The copper content affects the catalytic performance in STD reaction. The CO conversion and DME selectivity of Cu/Al_2O_3 with 15% copper molar ratio achieve 52.9% and 66.1%,respectively. Moreover, the mesoporous Cu/Al_2O_3 catalysts show excellent stability in STD reaction. | Yan Wang Yuexian Chen Feng Yu Dahai Pan Binbin Fan Jinghong Ma Ruifeng Li | 2016 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2016,25,5: | 3
Enhanced magnetic anisotropy and high hole mobility in magnetic semiconductor Ga_(1-x-y)Fe_(x)Ni_(y)Sb显示文摘(Ga,Fe)Sb is a promising magnetic semiconductor(MS)for spintronic applications because its Curie temperature(T_(C))is above 300 K when the Fe concentration is higher than 20%.However,the anisotropy constant Ku of(Ga,Fe)Sb is below 7.6×10^(3)erg/cm^(3)when Fe concentration is lower than 30%,which is one order of magnitude lower than that of(Ga,Mn)As.To address this issue,we grew Ga_(1-x-y)Fe_(x)Ni_(y)Sb films with almost the same x(≈24%)and different y to characterize their magnetic and electrical transport properties. We found that the magnetic anisotropy of Ga_(0.76-y)Fe_(0.24)Ni_(y)Sb can be enhanced by increasing y,in which Ku is negligible at y=1.7%but increases to 3.8×10^(5)erg/cm^(3)at y=6.1%(T_(C)=354 K).In addition, the hole mobility(μ)of Ga_(1-x-y)Fe_(x)Ni_(y)Sb reaches 31.3 cm^(2)/(V∙s)at x=23.7%,y=1.7%(T_(C)=319 K),which is much higher than the mobility of Ga_(1-x)Fe_(x)Sb at x=25.2%(μ=6.2 cm^(2)/(V∙s)).Our results provide useful information for enhancing the magnetic anisotropy and hole mobility of(Ga,Fe)Sb by using Ni co-doping. | Zhi Deng Hailong Wang Qiqi Wei Lei Liu Hongli Sun Dong Pan Dahai Wei Jianhua Zhao | 2024 | Journal of Semiconductors2024,45,1: | 0
Sources and Transport of Terrigenous Organic Matters Along the East China Sea Inner Shelf: Insights from Lignin and Alkane Biomarkers显示文摘The area of East China Sea(ECS)inner shelf is an important sink of suspended particulates from Yangtze River(YR)and materials originated from YR basin. In this study, the parameters of lignin and alkane biomarkers in surface sediment samples from ECS inner shelf were determined to distinguish the sources and to trace the transport of terrigenous organic matters in the region. Our dataset showed that total alkanes with carbon numbers from 10 to 38(T-alkanes)were significantly correlated to both TAR(terrigenous/aquatic ratio)and HMW/LMW(the ratio of high molecular weight to low molecular weight alkanes)(r=0.88,P<0.05 for both),indicating that the majority of T-alkanes was predominantly originated from terrestrial sources, and T-alkanes are important constituents of terrestrial organic matters in the study area. The area was probably affected by petroleum pollution to a certain degree,as indicated by the values of carbon preference index(CPI),odd-over-even carbon number predominance(OEP)and the ratio of pristane to phytane(Pr/Ph).The values of Pr/n-C_(17) and Ph/n-C_(18) suggested a strong reductive sedimentary condition in the region with no obvious biodegradation. The content of eight lignin phenols(Σ8)decreased from the coast to the open sea, indicative of riverine input and hydrodynamic transport of terrigenous organic matters.Lignin degradation parameters presented an increasing trend from the coastline toward the open sea.The lignin vegetation parameters and alkane index(AI)suggested the predominance of non-woody angiosperms in the YR basin. The obvious correlation betweenΛ8(Σ8 normalized to 100 mg organic carbon),TAR and HMW/LMW reveals the significantly concurrent input of lignin and alkanes from terrestrial sources. | LIU Xiaojie HAO Ting FENG Lijuan JI Yinli WANG Qianqian ZHANG Dahai PAN Gang GAO Xianchi MENG Chunxia LI Xianguo | 2021 | Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,4: | 0
