| 11 | Graphene coatings for corrosion resistance of nickel and copper in acidic,alkaline and neutral environments显示文摘Graphene coatings have been reported to provide impressive corrosion resistance to nickel(Ni)and copper(Cu),because of remarkable characteristics of inertness and impermeablity of graphene.However,as the earlier investigations have generally been carried out in chloride environment,and it is important to understand the performance of graphene coating also in more aggressive environments such as acids and alkali.This study investigated the electrochemical corrosion behaviour of bare and graphene-coated(by chemical vapour deposition(CVD))Ni and Cu in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),0.1 M NaCl and 0.5 M NaOH solutions.Electrochemical tests and post corrosion characterisation revealed the improvement in the corrosion resistance of Ni due to multilayer graphene coating to be similar in the three solutions,i.e.,the robustness of the barrier property of the multilayer graphene is largely unaffected by the aggressiveness of the corrosive environment.However,the improvement in corrosion resistance of bare Ni due to multilayer graphene is considerably greater(nearly 3 orders of magnitude)in the most aggressive of the test solutions(0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4)).The improvement is considerably less in 0.5 M NaOH because bare Ni develops a robust passive layer in highly alkaline solutions.The improvement in corrosion resistance of bare Cu is limited(within an order of magnitude)in the three solutions because Cu develops only 1-2 layers of graphene. | R.K.Singh Raman Abhishek Kumar Arya Kevin Tomy Faisal A Dip Evelyn Lai Saad Al-Saadi | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,11: | 0 |
| 12 | Nucleus-acoustic solitary waves in self-gravitating degenerate quantum plasmas显示文摘Nucleus-acoustic(NA) solitary waves(SWs) propagating in a self-gravitating degenerate quantum plasma(SDQP)system(containing non-relativistically degenerate heavy and light nuclei,and non-/ultra-relativistically degenerate electrons) have been theoretically investigated.The modified Korteweg–de Vries(m K-d V) equation has been derived for both planar and non-planar geometry by employing the reductive perturbation technique.It is shown that the NA SWs exist with positive(negative) electrostatic(self-gravitational) potential.It is also observed that the effects of non-/ultra-relativistically degenerate electron pressure,dynamics of non-relativistically light nuclei,spherical geometry,etc.significantly modify the basic features(e.g.,amplitude,width,speed,etc.) of the NA SWs.The applications of our results,which are relevant to astrophysical compact objects,like white dwarfs and neutron stars,are briefly discussed. | D M S Zaman M Amina P R Dip A A Mamun | 2018 | Chinese Physics B2018,27,4: | 0 |
| 13 | MiRNA in bladder carcinogenesis:A review显示文摘Bladder cancer(BC)is the second urological malignancy in incidence,currently being one of the most neoplasms studied with profile and biology poorly defined.In the world,BC is responsible by about 386000 new cases and 150000 deaths annually with considerable economic impact and high costs for health systems.After its discovery more than 20 years,micro RNAs(miR NAs)have been recognized as molecules that work specifically in post-transcriptional control in majority of eukaryote genomes.MiR NAs are a family of small noncoding RNAs of 19-25 nucleotides in length,expressedin a wide variety of organisms,comprising plants,worms and mammals,including humans.They have a fundamental role in physiological and pathological processes in organs and tissues in a context-dependent manner.This review brings new roles of protective and oncogenic miR NAs linked to carcinogenesis of urothelial carcinoma of the bladder,and associated with behavior of disease.Many studies have demonstrated promising roles of miR NAs working as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers or involved in target therapies,consolidating mi RNAs as crucial players in human cancer.This review allowed a reflection about the true functions of mi RNAs in bladder carcinogenesis.Not only by their wide capacities of action,but also by abilities in define the cell date.The future of anti-tumor target therapies will be based not in one,but in groups of miR NAs working together in several steps of carcinogenic process,being able to identify the disease,predicting behavior and effectively treat bladder cancer. | Nelson Dip Sabrina T Reis Nayara I Viana Denis R Morais Caio M Moura Betina Katz Daniel K Abe Alexandre Iscaife Iran A Silva Miguel Srougi Kátia RM Leite | 2014 | World Journal of Clinical Urology2014,3,3: | 0 |
