| 1 | New parameter in diagnosis of acute appendicitis:Platelet distribution width显示文摘AIM:To investigate the diagnostic accuracy of the mean platelet volume and platelet distribution width in acute appendicitis.METHODS:This retrospective,case-controlled study compared 295 patients with acute appendicitis(Group?Ⅰ),100 patients with other intra-abdominal infections(GroupⅡ),and 100 healthy individuals(GroupⅢ)between January 2012 and January 2013.The age,gender,and white blood cell count,neutrophil percentage,mean platelet volume,and platelet distribution width values from blood samples were compared among the groups.Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS for Windows 21.0 software.In addition,the sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive values and likelihood ratios,and diagnostic accuracy were calculated.RESULTS:The mean ages of patients were 29.9±12.0years for Group?Ⅰ,31.5±14.0 years for GroupⅡ,and30.4±13.0 years for GroupⅢ.Demographic features such as age and gender were not significantly different among the groups.White blood cell count,neutrophil percentage and platelet distribution width were significantly higher in Group?Ⅰ?compared to groupsⅡandⅢ(P<0.05).Diagnostically,the sensitivity,specificity and diagnostic accuracy were 73.1%,94.0%,and 78%for white blood cell count,70.0%,96.0%,and 76.0%for neutrophil percentage,29.5%,49.0%,and 34.0%for mean platelet volume,and 97.1%,93.0%,and 96.0%for platelet distribution width,respectively.The highest diagnostic accuracy detected was for platelet distribution width between Group?Ⅰ?and GroupⅢ(P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Platelet distribution width analysis can be used for diagnosis of acute appendicitis without requiring additional tests,thus reducing the cost and loss of time. | Bulent Dinc Alten Oskay Selcan Enver Dinc Bilge Bas Sabri Tekin | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，6： | 5 |
| 2 | 冷却系统阻力对汽车总阻力影响的数值预测模型研究(英文)显示文摘采用CFD方法数值模拟了小型汽车发动机冷却系统对全车阻力的影响特性。汽车的内部及外部(发动机舱及舱内)均设置了数值模拟网格。分别计算了散热器及风扇对阻力的影响,采用本校实验结果(散热器压力损失)及制造商提供的数据(散热器及风扇的质量流率)确定初始及边界条件,为基于RNS的CFD提供输入。对汽车轮胎运动模式及行驶速度对散热系统阻力及汽车总阻的影响特性也进行了计算分析。预测结果表明,冷却系统阻力占汽车总阻的6.9%,与实测值吻合。 | A. | 3 | Postoperative fluid management显示文摘Postoperative care units are run by an anesthesiologist or a surgeon, or a team formed of both. Management of postoperative fluid therapy should be done considering both patients' status and intraoperative events. Types of the fluids, amount of the fluid given and timing of the administration are the main topics that determine the fluid management strategy. The main goal of fluid resuscitation is to provide adequate tissue perfusion without harming the patient. The endothelial glycocalyx dysfunction and fluid shift to extracellular compartment should be considered wisely. Fluid management must be done based on patient's body fluid status. Patients who are responsive to fluids can benefit from fluid resuscitation, whereas patients who are not fluid responsive are more likely to suffer complications of overhydration. Therefore, common use of central venous pressure measurement, which is proved to be inefficient to predict fluid responsiveness, should be avoided. Goal directed strategy is the most rational approach to assess the patient and maintain optimum fluid balance. However, accessible and applicable monitoring tools for determining patient's actual fluid need should be further studied and universalized. The debate around colloids and crystalloids should also be considered with goal directed therapies. | 4 | Vulnerability to HIV Infection and Related Health Risk Behaviors of the Out of School Adolescents Migrated with Their Parents to Beijing显示文摘Objective To explore the vulnerability to HIV infection and related risk behaviors of the out-of-school adolescents who migrated with their parents from rural areas to cities.Methods From September to October 2005,260 out-of-school adolescents aged 14-20 years were interviewed through a questionnaire.Results Out-of-school adolescents lacked HIV/AIDS knowledge and related life skills,and their psychosocial competency was relatively low.The interviewed adolescents were open in their sexuality,showing a low rate of condom use.Their attitudes towards people living with HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS prevention competency were positively correlated with family well-being,harmonious relations between their parents,a stable job,knowledge,life skill,and psychosocial competency for emotion control and empathy.Conclusion Out-of-school adolescents are highly vulnerable to HIV/AIDS infection and transmission.Practical and feasible health and life skill education and psychosocial competency are the keys to effective HIV/AIDS prevention among out-of-school adolescent migrants. | YING-HUA MA Su-QIN DINC AND CHAO WANG | 2008 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2008，21，5： | 2 |
