1The efficacy and safety of pramipexole ER versus IR in Chinese patients with Parkinson’s disease: a randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group study显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the non-inferiority of pramipexole extended-release(ER)versus immediate-release(IR)in Chinese patients with Parkinson’s disease(PD)in a double-blind,randomized,parallel-group study.Methods:Subjects were Chinese patients with idiopathic PD with diagnosis≥2 years prior to trial,age≥30 years old at diagnosis,and Modified Hoehn and Yahr score 2-4 during‘on’-time.Subjects received treatment with pramipexole ER(n=234)or IR(n=239).Non-inferiority was based on the primary endpoint,the change from baseline to end of maintenance(week 18)in the UPDRS(Parts II+III)total score.Results:For the primary endpoint,the adjusted mean changes(standard error)of UPDRS Parts II+III at week 18 were−13.81(0.655)and−13.05(0.643)for ER and IR formulations,respectively,using ANCOVA adjusted for treatment and centre(fixed effect)and baseline(covariate).The adjusted mean between group difference was 0.8 for the 2-sided 95%CI(−1.047,2.566).Since the lower limit of the 2-sided 95%CI(−1.047)for treatment difference was higher than the non-inferiority margin of−4,non-inferiority between pramipexole ER and IR was demonstrated.The incidence of adverse events(AEs)was 68.8%in the ER arm and 73.6%in the IR arm with few severe AEs(ER:2.1%;IR:3.8%).Conclusion:Based on the UPDRS II+III score,pramipexole ER was non-inferior to pramipexole IR.The safety profiles of pramipexole ER and IR were similar.These results were based on comparable mean daily doses and durations of treatment for both formulations.Ying Wang Shenggang Sun Suiqiang Zhu Chunfeng Liu Yiming Liu Qing Di Huifang Shang Yan Ren Changhong Lu Mark Forrest Gordon Nolwenn Juhel Shengdi Chen for the Pramipexole ER Study Team 2014Translational Neurodegeneration2014,3,1:3

4Practical decoy-state quantum secure direct communication显示文摘Quantum secure direct communication(QSDC) has been demonstrated in both fiber-based and free-space channels using attenuated lasers. Decoy-state QSDC by exploiting four decoy states has been proposed to address the problem of photon-numbersplitting attacks caused by the use of attenuated lasers. In this study, we present an analysis of the practical aspects of decoy-state QSDC. First, we design a two-decoy-state protocol that only requires two decoy states, thereby significantly reducing experimental complexity. Second, we successfully perform full parameter optimization for a real-life QSDC system by introducing a genetic algorithm. Our simulation results show that the two-decoy-state protocol could be the best choice for developing a practical QSDC system. Furthermore, full optimization is crucial for a high-performance QSDC system. 5Fiber-based quantum secure direct communication without active polarization compensation显示文摘Quantum secure direct communication(QSDC)that allows people to directly transmit confidential information through insecure channels is an important branch of quantum communication.The widespread adoption of the QSDC demands the development of simple and stable systems.However,most of the existent QSDC systems involve a complex self-alignment process at the initial stage and additional hardware to compensate environmental disturbance.In this study,we present a fiber-based QSDC system without active polarization compensation.Our system comprises a stable transmitter and a novel Sagnac-Mach-Zehnder interferometer for security detection.This robust system simplifies the self-alignment and is immune to environmental disturbance.The robustness of the system was theoretically and experimentally verified,and low bit error rates in a 12 min continuous operation with an active polarization scrambler were attained.In addition,we performed a proof-of-principle QSDC demonstration,and a secrecy capacity of 3.43 kbps over a 5 km fiber with a detection bit error rate of 0.85%±0.07%and a quantum bit error rate of 0.42%±0.05%were achieved.Experimental results confirm the viability of the proposed QSDC system for practical applications.Xin Liu Di Luo Guangshen Lin Zihao Chen Chunfeng Huang Shizhuo Li Chengxian Zhang Zhenrong Zhang Kejin Wei 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,12:0
6HMIBase: An Hierarchical Indexing System for Storing and Querying Big Data显示文摘Relational database management systems are usually deployed on single-node machines and have strict limitations in terms of da-ta structure. This means they do not work well with big data, and No SQL has been proposed as a solution. To make data queryingmore efficient, indexes and memory cache techniques are used in No SQL databases. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical in-dexing mechanism and a prototype distributed data-storage system, called HMIBase, which has hierarchical indexes for non-prima-ry keys in tables and makes data querying more efficient. HMIBase uses HBase as the lower data storage and creates a memorycache for more efficient data transmission. HMIBase supports coprocessor-to-process update requests. It also provides a client withquery and update APIs and a server to support RPCs from the client and finish jobs. To improve the cache hit ratio, we propose amemory cache replacement strategy, called Hot Score algorithm, in HMIBase.
