1乌干达在接受抗病毒治疗的艾滋病病人中筛查活动性结核病的一个简单工具显示文摘背景:在撒哈拉以南非洲地区,采用可靠的临床程序,对开始接受或已经接受抗病毒治疗的艾滋病病人进行活动性结核病筛查,可减少对诊断程序的需要。方法:我们对6个与结核病相关的症状和体征单独或组合在一起的效用进行了估计,并与乌干达卫生部对现患结核病(在评估抗病毒治疗资格时,作为基线)、抗病毒治疗早期(抗病毒治疗开始后的3个月内)结核病和新发结核病(抗病毒治疗3个月以后)的诊断指南进行了比较。结果:在1 995例接受抗病毒治疗资格筛查的HIV感染者中,71例(3.6%)被诊断患有结核病。对于预测活动性结核病而言,下列任一症状或体征:咳嗽≥3周,发热≥4周,淋巴结肿大或基线体质量指数≥18 kg/m^2,其灵敏度为99%(95%可信区间为96~100),特异度66%(95%可信区间为64~68),阴性预测值为100%(95%可信区间为99~100)。在抗病毒治疗随访期间,结核病发病率为2.4/100人年(95%可信区间为1.6~3.4)。出现咳嗽≥3周或全身乏力症状或体征的灵敏度为100%(95%可信区间为99~100),特异度为66%(95%可信区间为59~74),阴性预测值为100%(95%可信区间为99~100)。结论:在资源贫乏的非洲地区,应用简单的结核病筛查流程,可以准确地辨别出哪些HIV感染者需要接受进一步的结核诊断检查。W.Were D.Moore P.Ekwaru G.Mwima R.Bunnell F.Kaharuza G.Rutherford J.Mermin 刘二勇(译) 王雪静(校) 2010国际结核病与肺部疾病杂志2010,,2:1

4Quantification and discovery of PCR inhibitors found in food matrices commonly associated with foodborne viruses显示文摘Human norovirus is the leading cause of foodborne illness globally.Detection and quantification of norovirus commonly involves the use of reverse transcriptase quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR);however,the presence of inhibitory compounds in foods limit detection and accurate quantification.Although some studies have been done on PCR inhibitors from foods,many of them are over a decade old and do not investigate inhibition in contemporary one-step RT-qPCR-based detection chemistries.The purpose of this work was to quantify the degree of inhibition that occurs from inhibitory compounds found in produce(pectin)and mollusks(hemocyanin,glycogen)—foods commonly associated with norovirus outbreaks.RT-qPCR reactions containing different amounts of genomic bacteriophage MS2 RNA,a norovirus surrogate,were spiked with different concentrations of pectin(0.0625%–0.25%w/V),glycogen(1.25%–10%),and hemocyanin(0.0625%–0.25%).Past research has implicated glycogen as an inhibitory compound in oysters;however,even high levels of glycogen(10%)had no significant effect(P>0.05)on amplification.Conversely,both pectin and hemocyanin caused complete inhibition at 0.25%,with no significant inhibition observed at 0.0625%(P<0.05).Hemocyanin is abundant in the hemolymph of mollusks and previously untested as a PCR inhibitor.This work demonstrates that pectin and hemocyanin should be considered when testing produce and mollusk samples with PCR-based methods.Cassandra Suther Matthew D.Moore 2019Food Science and Human Wellness2019,8,4:0

7WSV 2019: The First Committee Meeting of the World Society for Virology显示文摘The World Society for Virology(WSV) was founded and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the United States in 2017. WSV seeks to strengthen and support both virological research and virologists who conduct research of viruses that affect humans, other animals, plants, and other organisms. One of the objectives of WSV is to connect virologists worldwide and support collaboration. Fulfilling this objective, virologists from fourteen countries in North America,Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East met on 25–27 th August 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden at the Karolinska University Hospital for the first Committee Meeting of WSV. This meeting included compelling keynote and honorary speeches and a series of 18 scientific talks were given encompassing a diverse array of subjects within virology. 8Pressure vessel priming analysis for a regulated liquid propulsion system显示文摘An investigation was performed to determine the pressure transient levels and time required to reach pressure equilibrium in a regulated liquid propulsion system due to the priming of a propellant tank during system initiation.An experimental fluid flow test setup was designed and fabricated using a pressure vessel to house distilled water as a propellant simulant for liquid hydrazine and high-pressure gaseous nitrogen as the pressurant.A snubber orifice was installed downstream of the high-pressure gaseous nitrogen bottles to protect a regulator from high-pressure transients,prior to the regulation of incoming gas to beginning of life propulsion system propellant tank conditions.Experiments were conducted to measure pressure transients and time to pressure equilibrium by varying initial system pressures,snubber orifice diameter,and system ullage volume.A mathematical model was developed and compared against the experimental regulated system priming results to predict the system pressures and time to reach system pressure equilibrium during the pressurization period for regulated propulsion systems given initial conditions.Jeffrey D.Moore 2020Propulsion and Power Research2020,9,2:0
