1Recent advances on environmental corrosion behavior and mechanism of high-entropy alloys显示文摘In the past decade, the sudden rise of high-entropy alloys(HEAs) has become a research hotspot in the domain of metal materials. HEAs break through the design concept of traditional single-principal element alloys, and the four core effects, especially the high entropy and cocktail effects, make HEAs exhibit much better corrosion resistance than traditional corrosion-resistant metal materials, e.g., stainless steels, copper-nickel alloys, and high-nickel alloys. Currently, the corrosion resistance of HEAs causes great concern in the field of corrosion research. This article reviews the corrosion behavior and mechanism of HEAs in various aqueous solutions, revealing the correlation among the composition, microstructure and corrosion resistance of HEAs, and elaborates the influence of heat treatment, anodizing treatment and preparation methods on the corrosion behavior of HEAs. This knowledge will benefit the on-demand design of corrosion-resistant HEAs, which is an important trend of future development. 2Relationship between electrochemical characteristics and SCC of X70 pipeline steel in an acidic soil simulated solution显示文摘Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of X70 pipeline steel in simulated solution of the acidic soil in Yingtan in China was investigated using slow strain rate test (SSRT), SEM and potentiodynamic polarization technique. Experiment results indicate that X70 steel is highly susceptible to SCC as applied potential reduces, which is manifested in loss of toughness and brittle fracture. Constant polarization current can detect the occurrence of SCC. The lower the polarization current is the sooner stress corrosion cracking occurs. The SCC mechanisms are different at varying potentials. When potential is higher than open circuit potential, anodic process controls SCC, whereas when potential is far lower than open circuit potential, cathodic process controls SCC, and between these two potential regions, a combined electrochemical process controls the SCC. 3Properties of passive film formed on 316L/2205 stainless steel by Mott-Schottky theory and constant current polarization method显示文摘Semiconductor properties of the passive films formed on 316L and 2205 stainless steel were studied by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS) in the high-temperature acetic acid.The results showed that the corrosion resistance of 2205 was higher than that of 316L,and the passive films formed on 316L and 2205 stainless steel showed p-type and n-type semiconductor behavior,respectively.Destruction and self-repairing of passive films were studied by using the constant current polarization method.The results showed that for 316L,the self-repairing process would occur when the destruction was lower than the critical extent or it would not do;for 2205,the self-repairing process only happened in a short time when the destruction was in the same extent as 316L.CHENG XueQun LI XiaoGang DU CuiWei 2009Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,13:11
4Effect of deteriorated microstructures on stress corrosion cracking of X70 pipeline steel in acidic soil environment显示文摘In order to investigate stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of X70 pipeline steel and its weld joint area in acidic soil environ-ment in China, two simulating methods were used: one was to obtain bad microstructures in heat affected zone by annealing at 1300°C for 10 min and then, quenching in water; the other was to get different simulating solutions of acidic soil in Yingtan in south-east China. The SCC susceptibilities of X70 pipeline steel before and after quenching in the simulating solutions were analyzed using slow stain rate test (SSRT) and potentiodynamic polarization technique to investigate the SCC electrochemical mechanism of differ-ent microstructures further. The results show that SCC appears in the original microstructure and the quenched microstructure as the polarization potential decreases. Hydrogen revolution accelerates SCC of the two tested materials within the range of -850 mV to -1200 mV vs. SCE. Microstructural hardening and grain coarsening also increase SCC. 5Effect of pH Value on Stress Corrosion Cracking of X70 Pipeline Steel in Acidic Soil Environment显示文摘The effect of pH value on the stress corrosion cracking(SCC) of API X70 pipeline steel in simulated acidic soil solutions was investigated by using slow strain rate test,electrochemical polarization curves,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and scanning electron microscopy.pH plays an important role in the susceptibility and electrochemical mechanism of SCC.The pH higher than 5 has no significant effect on electrochemical processes.By contrast,the pH lower than 5 intensifies cathodic hydrogen evolution reactions,thus increasing the cathodic current and corrosion potential.Under different pH values,the SCC mechanism of X70 pipeline steel varies among anodic dissolution(AD),hydrogen embrittlement(HE),and the combination of AD and HE(AD + HE) with variations of applied potential.At-850 mV SCE,the SCC mechanism is HE if pH is less than 4 or AD + HE if pH value is more positive.Zhiyong LIU Cuiwei DU Xin ZHANG Fuming WANG Xiaogang LI 2013Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2013,26,4:9
6Field corrosion characterization of soil corrosion of X70 pipeline steel in a red clay soil显示文摘The corrosion behavior of X70 pipeline steel buried in red soil environment has been studied. The surface morphology and elemental distribution were determined by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS), and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The corrosion kinetics was evaluated by weight loss measurement. The results show that in red soil, the corrosion rate of X70 steel decreases with time, and follows the exponential decay law. General corrosion with non-uniform and localized pitting occurred on the steel surface. α-Fe OOH was the dominate products during corrosion in whole buried periods, and the corrosion products exhibited well protective properties. The potentiodynamic polarization tests revealed that icorrdecreased with time, indicating the improvement of corrosion resistance. 7Distinct beneficial effect of Sn on the corrosion resistance of Cr-Mo low alloy steel显示文摘In this work,the beneficial effect of Sn addition on the corrosion resistance mechanism of Cr-Mo low alloy steel was studied.Results demonstrated that Sn improves the corrosion resistance of the steel matrix mainly by influencing the microstructural transformation.Sn addition and the synergistic effect of Sn,Cr,and Mo promote the formation of α-FeOOH,SnO_(2),SnO,Cr(OH)_(3),and molybdates,lead to the improved protection and stability of the rust layer.This synergistic effect also endows the inner rust layer with cation selectivity,preventing the further penetration of Cl-and inhibiting the localized corrosion of steel.Meihui Sun Xiaojia Yang Cuiwei Du Zhiyong Liu Yong Li Yumin Wu Hongyu San Xiandong Su Xiaogang Li 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,22:6
8Effect of calcium ions on CO_2 corrosion of 3Cr low-alloy steel显示文摘The effect of calcium ions on the corrosion behavior of 3Cr low-alloy steel in CO 2 containing sodium chloride solution was investigated by immersion test and electrochemical measurements. It is found that with the addition of Ca 2+ to CO 2-containing solution,the crazing level of the corrosion scale on the specimen is much slighter than that of the specimen immersed in solution without Ca 2+ . The pitting on the surface of the specimens immersed in the solution with Ca 2+ is relatively small and distributes uniformly all over the surface. The significant change in the anodic polarization curve is attributed to the deposition of the CaCO 3 . CaCO 3 deposits on the specimen surface and gives a protection to the metal substrate. And with the anodic proceeding,the concentration of H + in the solution increases. 9Corrosion Resistance of 316L Stainless Steel in Acetic Acid by EIS and Mott-Schottky显示文摘The properties of the passivation film formed on 316L stainless steel were studied by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS),Mott-Schottky and Voltammetry measurements in high- temperature acetic acid.The results show that the passivation film formed on 316L stainless steel is stable in 60% acetic acid solution from 25℃to 85℃.As temperature increased,the polarization resistance decreased but the interface capacitance increased.There was hardly any relation between temperature and the intrinsic property semiconductor.The passivation film represents the p-semiconductor property in the potential interval of-0.5-0.1 V;represents the n-semiconductor property in the potential interval of 0.1-0.9 V;and represents the p-semiconductor property in the potential interval of 0.9-1.1 V.The voltammetry measurements show that the structure of the passivation film is stable when the temperature is lower than 55℃ and that its stability decreased when this temperature is exceeded.CHENG Xuequn LI Xiaogang YANG Lixia DU Cuiwei 2008Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2008,23,4:4
10Microbiologically influenced corrosion of 304 stainless steel by halophilic archaea Natronorubrum tibetense显示文摘The corrosion behavior of 304 stainless steel(SS)in the presence of aerobic halophilic archaea Natronorubrum tibetense was investigated.After 14 days of immersion,no obvious pitting pit was observed on the SS surface in the sterile medium.By contrast,the SS exhibited serious pitting corrosion with the largest pit depth of 5.0μm in the inoculated medium after 14 days.The results of electrochemical tests showed that the barrier property of the passive film decreased faster in the inoculated medium.The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results indicated that the detrimental Fe2+and Cr6+increased in the passive film under the influence of archaea N.tibetense,which resulted in the accelerated deterioration of passive film and promoted the pitting corrosion.Combined with the energy starvation tests,the microbiologically influenced corrosion mechanism of 304 SS caused by halophilic archaea N.tibetense was discussed finally.Hongchang Qian Lingwei Ma Dawei Zhang Ziyu Li Luyao Huang Yuntian Lou Cuiwei Du 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,11:3
11SCC of X70 and Its Deteriorated Microstructure in Simulated Acid Soil Environment显示文摘In order to study the stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of X70 pipeline steel and its weld joint in acid soil environment of southeast of China, two simulating methods were used here. The one was to obtain the bad microstructures in heat affected zone by annealing at 1300°C for 10 min and air cooling to room temperature, the other was to get a series of simulating solutions of the acid soil environment. SCC susceptibilities of X70 pipeline steels before and after being normalized in the simulated solutions were studied by slow strain rate test (SSRT) and microstructural observation of fracture areas. Potentiodynamic polarization curves were used to study the electrochemical behaviour of different microstructures. SCC does occur to both the as-received material and normalized microstructure after heat treatment as the polarization potential decreased. Hydrogen embrittlement (HE) is indicated occurring to all tested materials at -850 mV (vs SCE) and -1200 mV(vs SCE). The SCC mechanisms are different within varying potential range. 12Role of Martensite Structural Characteristics on Corrosion Features in Ni-Advanced Dual-Phase Low-Alloy Steels显示文摘The relationship between the corrosion resistance and martensite structure of Ni-advanced dual-phase weathering steel was studied using transmission electron microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,electrochemical analysis,and atomic force microscopy.The investigations indicate that the final microstructure of the dual-phase weathering steel was composed of a large amount of low-carbon lath martensite distributed in the ferrite matrix.The potential of the martensite phase is higher than that of ferrite,which acts as a microcathode.As the martensite volume fraction in the Ni-advanced dual-phase weathering steel increased,the corrosion rate increased owing to the greater galvanic couple formed between the ferrite and martensite from the increasing ratio of the cathode area to the anode area.In addition,this work provides a method to obtain advanced weathering steel with improved mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.Chao Hai Xuequn Cheng Cuiwei Du Xiaogang Li 2021Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2021,34,6:2
13Effect of cathodic potential on stress corrosion cracking behavior of 21Cr2NiMo steel in simulated seawater显示文摘This study aims at providing systematically insights to clarify the impact of cathodic polarization on the stress corrosion cracking(SCC)behavior of 21 Cr2 NiMo steel.Slow-strain-rate tensile tests demonstrated that 21 Cr2 NiMo steel is highly sensitive to hydrogen embrittlement at strong cathodic polarization.The lowest SCC susceptibility occurred at-775 mV vs.SCE,whereas the SCC susceptibility was remarkably higher at potentials below-950 mV vs.SCE.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)revealed that the cathodic potential decline caused a transition from transgranular to intergranular mode in the fracture path.The intergranular mode transformed from bainite boundaries separation to prior austenitic grain boundaries separation under stronger cathodic polarization.Furthermore,corrosion pits promoted the nucleation of SCC cracks.In conclusion,with the decrease in the applied potential,the SCC mechanism transformed from the combination of hydrogen embrittlement and anodic dissolution to typical hydrogen embrittlement.Menghao Liu Zhiyong Liu Cuiwei Du Xiaoqin Zhan Chunduo Dai Yue Pan Xiaogang Li 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,2:2
14Leak Detection of Gas Pipelines Based on Characteristics of Acoustic Leakage and Interfering Signals显示文摘When acoustic method is used in leak detection for natural gas pipelines,the external interferences including operation of compressor and valve,pipeline knocking,etc.,should be distinguished with acoustic leakage signals to improve the accuracy and reduce false alarms.In this paper,the technologies of extracting characteristics of acoustic signals were summarized.The acoustic leakage signals and interfering signals were measured by experiments and the characteristics of time-domain,frequency-domain and time-frequency domain were extracted.The main characteristics of time-domain are mean value,root mean square value,kurtosis,skewness and correlation function,etc.The features in frequency domain were obtained by frequency spectrum analysis and power spectrum density,while time-frequency analysis was accomplished by short time Fourier transform.The results show that the external interferences can be removed effectively by the characteristics of time domain,frequency domain and time-frequency domain.It can be drawn that the acoustic leak detection method can be applied to natural gas pipelines and the characteristics can help reduce false alarms and missing alarms.Lingya Meng Cuiwei Liu Liping Fang Yuxing Li Juntao Fu 2019Sound & Vibration2019,53,4:2

17Spatial variability of soil resistivity and rational sampling for corrosion assessment of carbon steel in Daqing area显示文摘Soil resistivity is one of the key indicators of the corrosive classification assessment on metal materials in soil environment. This paper presents variance characters of various quantity of soil resistivity samples data based on the semi-variance function methods of Geo-statistical Analysis by analyzing the regional soil resistivity sampling data in Daqing area. Furthermore, the variance of the soil resistivity as well as entire soil circumstance due to different sampling amounts are also analyzed and compared by means of using the characteristic parameters of the semi-variance function.
