Design of a new dynamical core for global atmospheric models based on some efficient numerical methods显示文摘A careful study on the integral properties of the primitive hydrostatic balance equations for baroclinic atmosphere is carried out, and a new scheme todesign the global adiabatic model of atmospheric dynamics ispresented. This scheme includes a method of weighted equal-areamesh and a fully discrete finite difference method with quadraticand linear conservations for solving the primitive equationsystem. Using this scheme, we established a new dynamical corewith adjustable high resolution acceptable to the availablecomputer capability, which can be very stable without anyfiltering and smoothing. Especially, some important integralproperties are kept unchanged, such as the anti-symmetries of thehorizontal advection operators and the vertical convectionoperator, the mass conservation, the effective energy conservationunder the standard stratification approximation, and so on. Somenumerical tests on the new dynamical core, respectively regardingits global conservations and its integrated performances inclimatic modeling, incorporated with the physical packagesfrom the Community Atmospheric Model Version 2 (CAM2) of NationalCenter for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), are included. | WANG Bin, WAN Hui, Jl Zhongzhen, ZHANG Xin, YU Rucong, YU Yongqiang & LIU HongtaoState Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100029, China Department of Computational Mathematics, Academy of Mathematics and System Sciences, Peking University, Beijing 100871, China | 2004 | Science China Mathematics2004,47,z1: | 92
Homotopic mapping solving method for gain fluency of a laser pulse amplifier显示文摘The model for gain fluency of a laser pulse amplifier is studied. Using the homotopic mapping method, firstly, the system of the original model is packed up standardization; secondly, introducing a homotopic mapping, taking the property of the mapping, inducing a contrived parameter, the solving of a nonlinear problem translates into the solving of a linear problem. Then the approximate expressions of the solution for the corresponding model are obtained. And the precision for the approximate solution is compared. It illuminates that the obtained approximate solution using the homotopic mapping method possesses higher approximate degree. At one time, the expansion of solution through the homotopic mapping method can be kept in the analytic operation. Thus it also enables us through differential and integral operations to obtain other physics behavior for the gain fluency of laser pulse amplifier. | MO JiaQi1,2 1 Anhui Normal University, Wuhu 241000, China 2 Division of Computational Science, E-Institutes of Shanghai Universities, at SJTU, Shanghai 200240, China | 2009 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2009,52,7: | 124
Information granules and entropy theory in information systems显示文摘Information granulation and entropy theory are two main approaches to research uncertainty of an information system, which have been widely applied in many practical issues. In this paper, the characterizations and representations of infor-mation granules under various binary relations are investigated in information systems,an axiom definition of information granulation is presented, and some existing definitions of information granulation become its special forms. Entropy theory in information systems is further developed and the granulation monoton-icity of each of them is proved. Moreover, the complement relationship between information granulation and entropy is established. This investigation unifies the results of measures for uncertainties in complete information systems and incom-plete information systems. | LIANG JiYe & QIAN YuHua Key Laboratory of Computational Intelligence and Chinese Information Processing,Ministry of Education School of Computer & Information Technology,Shanxi University,Taiyuan 030006,China | 2008 | Science in China(Series F)2008,51,10: | 41

Review on the study of entanglement in quantum computation speedup显示文摘The role the quantum entanglement plays in quantum computation speedup has been widely disputed. Some believe that quantum computation's speedup over classical computation is impossible if entan-glement is absent, while others claim that the presence of entanglement is not a necessary condition for some quantum algorithms. This paper discusses this problem systematically. Simulating quantum computation with classical resources is analyzed and entanglement in known algorithms is reviewed. It is concluded that the presence of entanglement is a necessary but not sufficient condition in the pure state or pseudo-pure state quantum computation speedup. The case with the mixed state remains open. Further work on quantum computation will benefit from the presented results. | DING ShengChao1,3 & JIN Zhi1,2,1 Institute of Computing Technology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100080,China 2 Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100080,China 3 Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100080,China | 2007 | Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,16: | 34
New research progress on the ultrastructure of tectonically deformed coals显示文摘The structure of tectonically deformed coals shows some characteristics and regulations on the ultra-scale when influenced by different factors such as temperature, pressure and directional stress.Deformations of the macromolecular structure may induce changes in the nano-scale pore structure, which are very important for gas adsorption and pervasion. The geological impact of different mechanisms of deformation on different types of ultrastructure of tectonically deformed coals is not only of significance as a topic for scientific research, but also in studying environments of metamorphism-deformation at differing metamorphic stages. This research is also very important in studying the accumulation and occurrence conditions of coalbed methane gas, mechanisms of coal and gas outbursts, predictions of coalbed methane resources and dangers of coal and gas outbursts. This paper analyzes current research, within China and other countries, in the ultrastructure of tectonically deformed coals. The research includes(1) structural models of tectonically deformed coals;(2) the relationship between ultrastructure and stress;(3) the structure of tectonically deformed coals and its strain environment. These results are also based on our own experiments including vitirnite reflectance(R_(o,max)),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR(CP/MAS + TOSS)).We discuss the important effects of the structure of tectonically deformed coals and their physical properties, and then point out some problems concerning the research progress of tectonically deformed coals. | Yiwen Ju,Xiaoshi Li Laboratory of Computational Geodynamics,College of Earth Science,Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100049,China | 2009 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2009,19,11: | 29
A SELF-ADAPTIVE TRUST REGION ALGORITHM显示文摘In this paper we propose a self-adaptive trust region algorithm. The trust region radius is updated at a varable rate according to the ratio between the actual reduction and the predicted reduction of the objective function, rather than by simply enlarging or reducing the original trust region radius at a constant rate.We show that this new algorithm preserves the strong convergence property of traditional trust region methods.Numerical results are also presented. | Long Hei (Institute of Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing, Academy ofMathematics and Systems Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100080, China)(Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences Northwestern University C2SO,2145 Sheridan Road Evanston, Illinois 60208, USA) | 2003 | Journal of Computational Mathematics2003,21,2: | 29

Extended multivariate public key cryptosystems with secure encryption function显示文摘Advances in quantum computers pose great threats on the currently used public key cryptographic algorithms such as RSA and ECC. As a promising candidate secure against attackers equipped with quantum computational power, multivariate public key cryptosystems (MPKCs) have attracted increasing attention in recently years. Unfortunately, the existing MPKCs can only be used as a multivariate signature scheme, and it remains unknown how to construct an efficient MPKC enabling secure encryption. Furthermore, some multivariate signature schemes have been shown insecure in recent years, and it is also not trivial to build MPKC which can serve as a secure signature scheme. By employing the basic MQ-trapdoors, this paper proposes a novel MPKC and shows how it can be used as a multivariate signature scheme and a multivariate encryption scheme, respectively. The goal is achieved by incorporating our new hash authentication techniques and some modification methods such as the Shamir's minus method. Thorough analysis shows that our schemes are secure and efficient. Our MPKC gives a positive response to the challenges in multivariate public key cryptography. | WANG HouZhen 1,2 , ZHANG HuanGuo 1,2 , WANG ZhangYi 1,2 & TANG Ming 1,2 1 The Key Laboratory of Aerospace Information Security and Trusted Computing, Ministry of Education, School of Computer, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430079, China 2 State Key Laboratory of Software Engineering, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430072, China | 2011 | Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,6: | 26

Three-dimensional thermal structure of the Chinese continental crust and upper mantle显示文摘We invert S-wave velocities for the 3D upper-mantle temperatures, in which the position with a temperature crossing the 1300℃ adiabat is corresponding to the top of the seismic low velocity zone. The temperatures down to the depth of 80 km are then calculated by solving steady-state thermal conduction equation with the constraints of the inverted upper-mantle temperatures and the surface temperatures, and then surface heat flows are calculated from the crustal temperatures. The misfit between the calculated and observed surface heat flow is smaller than 20% for most regions. The result shows that, at a depth of 25 km, the crustal temperature of eastern China (500―600℃) is higher than that of western China (<500℃). At a depth of 100 km, temperatures beneath eastern and southeastern China are higher than the adiabatic temperature of 1300℃, while that beneath west China is lower. The Tarim craton and the Sichuan basin show generally low temperature. At a depth of 150 km, temperatures beneath south China, eastern Yangtze craton, North China craton and around the Qiangtang terrane are higher than the adiabatic temperature of 1300℃, but is the lowest beneath the Sichuan basin and the regions near the Indian-Eurasian collision zone. At a depth of 200 km, very low temperature occurs beneath the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the south to the Tarim craton. | AN MeiJian1,2? & SHI YaoLin1 1 Laboratory of Computational Geodynamics, Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China 2 Key Laboratory of Crust Deformation and Processes and Institute of Geomechanics, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing 100081, China | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,10: | 20
^(13)C NMR spectra of tectonic coals and the effects of stress on structural components显示文摘High-resolution 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectra of different kinds of tectonic coals were obtained using the NMR (CP/MAS+TOSS) method. On the basis of this, after simulation synthesis and division of spectra, the relative contents of carbon functional groups were calculated. Combined with results of Ro, max, XRD testing and element analysis, stress effects on the composition of macromolecular structures in tectonic coals were studied further. The results showed that Ro, max was not only the important index for describing coal rank, but was also effective for estimating the stress effect of tectonic coals. Under tectonic stress ac- tion, Ro, max was the most direct indicator of the coal structure and chemical components. Changes in the stacking Lc of the coal basic structure unit (BSU) and La/Lc parameters could distinguish the temperature and stress effects on metamorphic-deformed environments, and re- flected the degree of structural deformation. Therefore, on the whole, Lc and La/Lc can be used to index of the degree of structural deformation of tectonic coals. In different metamorphic and de- formed environments, different kinds of tectonic coals are formed under structural stress. The changes in characteristics of the macromolecular structure and chemical composition are such that as the increase in structural deformation becomes stronger, from the brittle deformation coal to ductile deformation coal, the ratio of width at the half height of the aromatic carbon and ali- phatic carbon peaks (Hfa/Hfal ) was increased. As carbon aromaticity was raised further, carbon aliphaticity reduced obviously and different compositions of macromolecular structure appeared as a jump and wave pattern except for in wrinkle structure coal, which might result chiefly from stress effects on the macromolecular structure of different kinds of tectonic coals. The macro- moecular changes of wrinkle structure coal are reflected mainly on physical structure. In the metamorphic and deformed environments of the middle and high rank coals, different kinds of tectonic coals, when compared with the metamorphic and deformed environments of low rank coal, have a greater change in Hfa/Hfal, carbon aromaticity, carbon aliphaticity and a different composition of macromolecular structure. So these parameters can be used to estimate in- creases of coal rank, and to a certain degree, the stress effects on structural components of tectonic coals. | JU Yiwen1,2, JIANG Bo1, HOU Quanlin2, WANG Guiliang1 & NI Shanqin2 1. | 16 | Quantum secret sharing between multiparty and multiparty with Bell states and Bell measurements显示文摘We present a quantum secret sharing scheme between multiparty (m members in Group 1) and multiparty (n members in Group 2), and analyze its security. This scheme takes EPR pairs in Bell states as quantum resources. In order to obtain the shared key, all members only need to perform Bell measurements, rather than perform any local unitary operation. | 17 | A reconstruction method of porous media integrating soft data with hard data显示文摘The three-dimensional reconstruction of porous media is of great significance to the research of mechanisms of fluid flow. The real three-dimensional structural data of porous media are helpful to describe the irregular topologic structures in porous media. The reconstruction of porous media will be inaccurate while only hard data or no conditional data are available. Reconstructed results can be more accurate, using soft data during reconstruction. Integrating soft data with hard data, a method based on multiple-point geostatistics (MPS) is proposed to reconstruct three-dimensional structures of porous media. The variogram curves and permeability, computed by lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), of the reconstructed images and the target image obtained from real volume data were compared, showing that the structural characteristics of reconstructed porous media using both soft data and hard data as conditional data are most similar to those of real volume data. | LU DeTang1,2,3, ZHANG Ting1,2,3, YANG JiaQing1,2,3, LI DaoLun1,2,3 & KONG XiangYan1,2,3 1 Department of Modern Mechanics, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230027, China 2 Research Center of Oil and Natural Gas, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230027, China 3 Key Laboratory of Software in Computing and Communication of Anhui Province, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230027, China | 2009 | Chinese Science Bulletin2009,54,11: | 16

Modeling and verifying Web services driven by requirements:An ontology-based approach显示文摘Automatic discovery and composition of Web services is an important research area in Web service technology, in which the specification of Web services is a key issue. This paper presents a Web service capability description framework based on the environment ontology. This framework depicts Web services capability in two aspects: the operable environment and the environment changes resulting from behaviors of the Web service. On the basis of the framework, a requirement-driven Web service composition model has been constructed. This paper brings forward the formalization of Web service interactions with π calculus. And an automatic mechanism converting conceptual capability description to the formal process expression has been built. This kind of formal specification assists in verifying whether the composite Web service model matches the requirement. | HOU Lishan1,3,JIN ZHi1,2 & WU Budan1,4 1. | 20 | Economical cascadic multigrid method (ECMG)显示文摘In this paper, an economical cascadic multigrid method is proposed. Compared with the usual cascadic multigrid method developed by Bornemann and Deuflhard, the new one requires less iterations on each level, especially on the coarser grids. Many operations can be saved in the new cascadic multigrid algorithms. The main ingredient is the control of the iteration numbers on the each level to preserve the accuracy without over iterations. The theoretical justification is based on the observations that the error reduction rate of an iteration scheme in terms of the smoothing property is no longer accurate while the iteration number is big enough. A new formulae of the error reduction rate is employed in our new algorithm. Numerical experiments are reported to support our theory. | Zhong-ci SHI~1 Xue-jun XU~(1+) Yun-qing HUANG~2 ~1 LSEC,Institute of Computational Mathematics,Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100080,China ~2 Hunan Key Laboratory for Computation and Simulation in Science and Engineering,Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics,Xiangtan University,Xiangtan 411105,China | 2007 | Science China Mathematics2007,50,12: | 14
