| 1 | Simultaneous oxidation of NO,SO_2 and Hg^0 from flue gas by pulsed corona discharge显示文摘A process capable of simultaneously oxidizing NO,SO2,and Hg0 was proposed,using a high-voltage and short-duration positive pulsed corona discharge.By focusing on NO,SO2,and Hg0 oxidation effciencies,the influences of pulse peak voltage,pulse frequency,initial concentration,electrode number,residence time and water vapor addition were investigated.The results indicate that NO,SO2 and Hg0 oxidation effciencies depend primarily on the radicals(OH,HO2,O) and the active species(O3,H2O2,etc.) produced by the pulsed corona discharge.The NO,SO2 and Hg0 oxidation effciencies could be improved as pulse peak voltage,pulse frequency,electrode number and residence time increased,but they were reduced with increasing initial concentrations.By adding water vapor,the SO2 oxidation effciency was improved remarkably,while the NO oxidation effciency decreased slightly.In our experiments,the simultaneous NO,SO2,and Hg0 oxidation effciencies reached to 40%,98%,and 55% with the initial concentrations 479 mg/m3,1040 mg/m3,and 15.0 μg/m3,respectively. | XU Fei,LUO Zhongyang,CAO Wei,WANG Peng,WEI Bo,GAO Xiang,FANG Mengxiang,CEN Kefa State key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China. | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3: | 22 |
| 2 | Emission characteristics of dioxins,furans and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons during fluidized-bed combustion of sewage sludge显示文摘Pre-dried sewage sludge with high sulfur content was combusted in an electrically heated lab-scale fluidized-bed incinerator. The emission characteristics of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were studied. Coal and calcium oxide (CaO) were added during the sewage sludge combustion tests to optimize combustion conditions and control SO2 emission. The results indicated that the flue gases emitted during mono-combustion of sewage sludge were characterized by relatively high concentrations of SO2, NOx and organic pollutants, due to the high sulfur, nitrogen, and volatile matter content of sewage sludge. The total 16 USEPA priority PAHs and 2,3,7,8-substituted PCDD/Fs produced from sewage sludge combustion were found to be 106.14 μg/m3 and 8955.93 pg/m3 in the flue gas, respectively. In the case of co- combustion with coal (msludge/mcoal = 1:1), the 16 PAHs and 2,3,7,8-substituted PCDD/Fs concentrations were markedly lower than those found during mono-combustion of sewage sludge. | 3 | Effect of temperature and oxygen on the formation of chlorobenzene as the indicator of PCDD/Fs显示文摘Sampling and analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs) are both time-consuming and expensive. | 4 | Mechanochemical decomposition of pentachlorophenol by ball milling显示文摘The mechanochemical dechlorination of pentachlorophenol (PCP) was studied using CaO and SiO2 powder as additives. The effects of the milling time and additives on the dechlorination rate were investigated. The resulting product was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and ion chromatography (IC). It is found that grinding operation could dechlorinate PCP, with the formation of inorganic chloride and amorphous carbon. The addition of quartz to the grinding mixture facilitated dechlorination. On the basis of the experimental results, the decomposition mechanism was proposed. | 9 | Catalytic Performance and Texture of TEOS Based Cu/SiO_2 Catalysts for Hydrogenation of Dimethyl Oxalate to Ethylene Glycol显示文摘Highly active and selective Cu/SiO2 catalysts for hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate(DMO) to ethylene glycol(EG) were successfully prepared by means of a convenient one-pot synthetic method with tetraethoxysi lane(TEOS) as the source of silica. XRD, H2-TPR, SEM, TEM, XRF and N2 physisorption measurements were performed to characterize the texture and structure of Cu/SiO2 catalysts with different copper loadings. The active components were highly dispersed on SiO2 supports. Furthermore, the coexistence of Cu0 and Cu+ contributed a lot to the excellent performance of Cu-TEOS catalysts. | 14 | Biogas recovery from microwave heated sludge by anaerobic digestion显示文摘Biogas generated from sewage sludge,livestock waste,and food waste by anaerobic digestion is a valuable renewable energy resource.However,conventional anaerobic digestion is not an efficient process.A long hydraulic retention time and low biogas recovery rate hinder the applications of those resources.An effective pretreatment method to destroy sludge microbial cells has been one of the major concerns regarding improvement of the biogas production.This article focuses on the effects of microwave heating on sludge anaerobic digestion.Volatile suspended solid(VSS) and chemical organic demand solubilization of heated sludge were investigated.Microwave heating was found to be a rapid and efficient process for releasing organic substrates from sludge.The increase of organic dissolution ratio was not obvious when holding time was over 5 min with microwave heating.The effect of the VSS solubilization was primarily dependent on heating temperature.The highest value of VSS dissolving ratio,36.4%,was obtained at 170°C for 30 min.The COD dissolving ratio was about 25% at 170°C.Total organic carbon of treated sludge liquor was 1.98 and 2.73 g/L at 150°C and 170°C for 5 min,respectively.A biochemical methane potential(BMP) test of excess sludge and a mixture of primary and excess sludge demonstrated an increase in biogas production.The total biogas from microwave treated mixture sludge increased by 12.9% to 20.2% over control after 30 days of digestion.Biogas production was 11.1% to 25.9% higher for excess sludge than for untreated sludge.The VS removal ratios of mixture sludge and excess sludge were 12% and 11% higher,respectively,compared to the untreated sludge. | QIAO Wei1,WANG Wei2,ZHU CuiPing3 & ZHANG ZhongZhi1 1 College of Chemical Science and Engineering,China University of Petroleum,Beijing 102249,China 2 Department of Environmental Science and Engineering,Tsinghua University,Beijing 10084,China 3 J & K China Cleaning Energy Technology Co.Ltd.,Beijing 100085,China | 2010 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2010,53,1: | 1 |
