The formation and uplift of the blueschists of the Akesayi slice are constrained to the late stage of Devonian (370-364 Ma). 6Fiber and prebiotic supplementation in enteral nutrition:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM:To investigate fiber and prebiotic supplementation of enteral nutrition(EN) for diarrhea,fecal microbiota and short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs).METHODS:MEDLINE,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,CINAHL,Academic Search Premier,and Web of Science databases were searched for human experimental and observational cohort studies conducted between January 1990 and June 2014.The keywords used for the literature search were fiber,prebiotics and enteral nutrition.English language studies with adult patient populations on exclusive EN were selected.Abstracts and/or full texts of selected studies were reviewed and agreed upon by two independent researchers for inclusion in the meta-analysis.Tools used for the quality assessment were Jadad Scale and the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network Critical Appraisal of the Medical Literature.RESULTS:A total of 456 possible articles were retrieved,and 430 were excluded due to lack of appropriate data.Of the 26 remaining studies,only eight investigated the effects of prebiotics.Results of the meta-analysis indicated that overall,fiber reduces diarrhea in patients receiving EN(OR = 0.47;95%CI:0.29-0.77;P = 0.02).Subgroup analysis revealed a positive effect of fiber supplementation in EN towards diarrhea in stable patients(OR = 0.31;95%CI:0.19-0.51;P < 0.01),but not in critically ill patients(OR = 0.89;95%CI:0.41-1.92;P = 0.77).Prebiotic supplementation in EN does not improve the incidence of diarrhea despite its manipulative effect on bifidobacteria concentrations and SCFA in healthy humans.In addition,the effect of fiber and/or prebiotic supplementation towards fecal microbiota and SCFA remain disputable.CONCLUSION:Fiber helps minimize diarrhea in patients receiving EN,particularly in non-critically ill patients.However,the effect of prebiotics in moderating diarrhea is inconclusive.Mazuin Kamarul Zaman Kin-Fah Chin Vineya Rai Hazreen Abdul Majid 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,17:18

9Vibrational characteristics of piping system in air conditioning outdoor unit显示文摘The modal analysis of piping system in air conditioner (AC) outdoor unit is essential to investigate the vibration properties of the system. In view of the growing significance of numerical finite element (FE) model for vibration behaviour prediction, the AC piping elastic end support characterization has been explored. The axial and radial stiffness variables (ka, kr1, kr2) of the compressor-piping mounting are obtained and represented by dynamic stiffness of compressor grommet. They are obtained from dynamic load deflection test based on compressor operating condition such as excitation frequency and amplitude. The unknown stiffness variables of the other tube end (chassis-piping mounting) are determined by parameter fine tuning. An experimental modal analysis using impact hammer test has also been employed to determine the vibration properties such as natural frequencies, mode shapes and damping ratio of the piping structures. The modal parameters acquisition using SCADAS mobile acquisition system and LMS Impact Testing software is compared with the corresponding simulated modal properties using Abaqus. Most of the simulated natural frequencies achieve good correlation with the measured frequencies and it is reasonably a good prediction model to predict vibration behaviour of AC piping structures.S. 12miR-182参与调节胶质母细胞瘤的凋亡、生长和分化(英文)显示文摘Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM)is a lethal,therapy-resistant brain cancer consisting of numerous tumor cell subpopulations,including stem-like glioma-initiating cells(GICs),which contribute to tumor recurrence following initial response to therapy.Here,we identified miR-182 as a regulator of apoptosis,growth,and differentiation programs whose expression level is correlated with GBM patient survival.Repression of Bcl2-like12(Bcl2L12),c-Met,and hypoxia-inducible factor 2α(HIF2A)is of central importance to miR-182 anti-tumor activity,as it results in enhanced therapy susceptibility,decreased GIC sphere size,expansion,and stemness in vitro.To evaluate the tumor-suppressive function of miR-182 in vivo,we synthesized miR-182-based spherical nucleic acids(182-SNAs);i.e.,gold nanoparticles covalently functionalized with mature miR-182 duplexes.Intravenously administered 182-SNAs penetrated the bloodbrain/blood-tumor barriers(BBB/BTB)in orthotopic GBM xenografts and selectively disseminated throughout extravascular glioma parenchyma,causing reduced tumor burden and increased animal survival.Our results indicate that harnessing the anti-tumor activities of miR-182 via safe and robust delivery of 182-SNAs represents a novel strategy for therapeutic intervention in GBM.Kouri FM Hurley LA Daniel WL Day ES Hua Y Hao L Peng CY Merkel TJ Queisser MA Ritner C Zhang H James CD Sznajder JI Chin L Giljohann DA Kessler JA Peter ME Mirkin CA Stegh AH 2015中华神经外科疾病研究杂志2015,14,2:14

14miRNA studies in in vitro and in vivo activated hepatic stellate cells显示文摘AIM: To understand which and how different miRNAs are implicated in the process of hepatic stellate cell (HSC) activation. METHODS: We used microarrays to examine the differential expression of miRNAs during in vitro activation of primary HSCs (pHSCs). The transcriptome changes upon stable transfection of rno-miR-146a into an HSC cell line were studied using cDNA microarrays. Selected differentially regulated miRNAs were investigated by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction during in vivo HSC activation. The effect of miRNA mimics and inhibitor on the in vitro activation of pHSCs was also evaluated.RESULTS: We found that 16 miRNAs were upregulated and 26 were downregulated significantly in 10-d in vitro activated pHSCs in comparison to quiescent pHSCs. Overexpression of rno-miR-146a was characterized by marked upregulation of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-3, which is implicated in the regulation of tumor necrosis factor-α activity. Differences in the regulation of selected miRNAs were observed comparing in vitro and in vivo HSC activation. Treatment with miR-26a and 29a mimics, and miR-214 inhibitor during in vitro activation of pHSCs induced significant downregulation of collagen type Ⅰ transcription. CONCLUSION: Our results emphasize the different regulation of miRNAs in in vitro and in vivo activated pHSCs. 15A light-weight high-entropy alloy Al_(20)Be_(20)Fe_(10)Si_(15)Ti_(35)显示文摘A light-weight high-entropy alloy(LWHEA) Al_(20)Be_(20)Fe_(10)Si_(15)Ti_(35) has been developed to have unique mechanical properties and oxidation resistance. One major and two minor phases are observed in the as-cast microstructure. The density of the alloy is3.91 g cm^(-3), and its hardness is HV 911, which is higher than quartz. The hardness and hardness to density ratio are the highest of all light-weight alloys reported before. In addition, it has excellent oxidation resistance at 700℃ and 900℃, which far exceeds that of Ti-6 A1-4 V. 18Role of electrodes in ambient electrolytic decomposition of hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN) solutions显示文摘Decomposition of hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN) solution with electrolytic decomposition method has attracted much attention in recent years due to its efficiencies and practicability.However,the phenomenon has not been well-studied till now. By utilizing mathematical model currently available,the effect of water content and power used for decomposition was studied. Experiment data shows that sacrificial material such as copper or aluminum outperforms inert electrodes in the decomposition of HAN solution. In the case of using copper wire to electrolyse HAN solutions, approximately 10 seconds is required to reach 100℃ regardless of concentration of HAN. 19Geometry Design and Tooth Contact Analysis of Crossed Beveloid Gears for Marine Transmissions显示文摘Beveloid gears,also known as conical gears,gain more and more importance in industry practice due to their abilities for power transmission between parallel,intersected and crossed axis.However,this type of gearing with crossed axes has no common plane of action which results in a point contact and low tooth durability.Therefore,a geometry design approach assuming line contact is developed to analyze the tooth engagement process of crossed beveloid gears with small shaft angle for marine transmission applications.The loaded gear tooth contact behavior is simulated by applying a quasi-static analysis to study the effects of gearing parameters on mesh characteristics.Using the proposed method,a series of sensitivity analyses to examine the effects of critical gearing parameters such as shaft angle,cone angle,helix angle and profile-shift coefficient on the theoretical gear mesh is performed.The parametric analysis of pitch cone design shows that the dominant design parameters represented by the angle between the first principle directions(FPD) and normal angular factor are more sensitive to the shaft and cone angles than they are to the helix angle.The theoretical contact path is highly sensitive to the profile-shift coefficient,which is determined from the theoretical tooth contact analysis.The FPD angle is found to change the distribution of contact pattern,contact pressure and root stress as well as the translational transmission error and the variation of the mesh stiffness significantly.The contact pattern is clearly different between the drive and coast sides due to different designed FPD angles.Finally,a practical experimental setup for marine transmission is performed and tooth bearing test is conducted to demonstrate the proposed design procedure.The experimental result compared well with the simulation.Results of this study yield a better understanding of the geometry design and loaded gear mesh characteristics for crossed beveloid gears used in marine transmission.ZHU Caichao SONG Chaosheng LIM Teik Chin VIJAYAKAR Sandeep 2012Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2012,25,2:11
20Microwave assisted digestion followed by ICP-MS for determination of trace metals in atmospheric and lake ecosystem显示文摘The study of trace metals in the atmosphere and lake water is important due to their critical effects on humans,aquatic animals and the geochemical balance of ecosystems. The objective of this study was to investigate the concentration of trace metals in atmospheric and lake water samples during the rainy season(before and after precipitation)between November and December 2015. Typical methods of sample preparation for trace metal determination such as cloud point extraction,solid phase extraction and dispersive liquid–liquid micro-extraction are time-consuming and difficult to perform; therefore,there is a crucial need for development of more effective sample preparation procedure. A convection microwave assisted digestion procedure for extraction of trace metals was developed for use prior to inductively couple plasma-mass spectrometric determination. The result showed that metals like zinc(133.50–419.30 μg/m^3)and aluminum(53.58–378.93 μg/m^3)had higher concentrations in atmospheric samples as compared to lake samples before precipitation.On the other hand,the concentrations of zinc,aluminum,chromium and arsenic were significantly higher in lake samples after precipitation and lower in atmospheric samples. The relationship between physicochemical parameters(pH and turbidity)and heavy metal concentrations was investigated as well.
