Contrasting physical properties of the trilayer nickelates Nd4Ni3O10 and Nd4Ni3O8显示文摘We report the crystal structures and physical properties of trilayer nickelates Nd4Ni3O10and Nd4Ni3O8.Measurements of magnetization and electrical resistivity display contrasting behaviors in the two compounds.Nd4Ni3O10shows a paramagnetic metallic behavior with a metal-to-metal phase transition(T^*)at about 162 K,as revealed by both magnetic susceptibility and resistivity.Further magnetoresistance and Hall coefficient results show a negative magnetoresistance at low temperatures and the carrier type of Nd4Ni3O10is dominated by hole-type charge carriers. The significant enhancement of Hall coefficient and resistivity below T*suggests that effective charge carrier density decreases when cooling through the transition temperature. In contrast,Nd4Ni3O8 shows an insulating behavior. In addition, this compound shows a paramagnetic behavior with the similar magnetic moment as that of Nd4Ni3O10derived from the Curie-Weiss fitting. This may suggest that the magnetic moments in both systems are contributed by Nd^3+ ions.By applying pressures up to about 49 GPa,the insulating behavior is still present and becomes even stronger under a high pressure. Our results suggest that the different Ni configurations(Ni^1+/2+ or Ni^2+/3+)and the changes of coordination environment of Ni sites may account for the contrasting behaviors in trilayer nickelates Nd4Ni3O10and Nd4Ni3O8.Qing Li ChengPing He XiYu Zhu Jin Si XinWei Fan Hai-Hu Wen 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,2:2
Adding Fuel to the Fire by Increased GABAergic Inhibition:A Seizure-Amplifying Nigra-Parafascicular Pathway显示文摘Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures. Most anti epileptic drugs (AEDs)work by regulating the balance of the excitatory glutamatergic and inhibitory GABAergic transmission. However, the current AEDs cannot successfully control seizures in most (>70%) patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE)[1],in whom seizures typically begin in the hippocampus. This may be caused by changes in the synaptic efficacy and remodeling of neural circuits, such as alterations in the distribution/expression of GABA_A receptor subunits and mossy-fiber sprouting.Since Dr.Karen Gale and colleagues originally described the seizure-modulating effects of nigral GABAergic transmission in the early 1980s [2]。Yeping Ruan Rongrong Chen Jie Yu Chengping Wen Zhenghao Xu 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,1:1
Face stability analysis of a shield tunnel excavated along inclined strata显示文摘The horizontally layered or even inclined strata are often encountered in practical shield tunneling. The influence of inclined strata on face stability of shield tunnels is not fully investigated by the existing studies. This paper adopts both theoretical analysis and numerical simulation to carry out research on face stability in inclined strata. The spatial discretization technique is adopted to construct a threedimensional(3D)kinematic failure mechanism considering intersection between inclined soil interface and tunnel face.An analytical solution for critical support pressure is obtained.Besides, the critical support pressure and 3D kinematic mechanism are compared with numerical results to verify accuracy and effectiveness of analytical model. The influences of dip and position of inclined strata on face stability are thoroughly studied. The proposed failure mechanism can serve as a reference for face stability analysis in inclined strata.Wei Li Chengping Zhang Shiqin Tu Wen Chen Mengshuo Ma 2023Underground Space2023,,6:0
Multicomponent Reactions for Diverse Synthesis of N-Substituted and NH 1,4-Dihydropyridines显示文摘The multicomponent reactions of aldehydes, electron deficient alkynes and amines have been successfully per-formed to yield a number of symmetrical 2,6-unsubstituted 1,4-dihydropyridines(1,4-DHPs).This method has been found generally applicable for the synthesis of both N-substituted and N-unsubstituted 1,4-DHPs by employing secondary amine to activate the alkyne component via enaminoester intermediates. The present method runs through an enamine type activation, which is different from the known approach employing AcOH as solvent.Jieping Wan Youyi Zhou Yunyun Liu Zheng Fang Chengping Wen 2014Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,3:0
Discovery of a new nontoxic cuprate superconducting system Ga-Ba-Ca-Cu-O显示文摘Superconductivity is observed in a new nontoxic cuprate system Ga-Ba-Ca-Cu-O,with T_c=82 K for Ga Ba_2Ca_5Cu_6O_(14+δ)(Ga-1256)and T_c=116 K probably for Ga Ba_2Ca_3Cu_4O_(10+δ)(Ga-1234)or Ga Ba_2Ca_2Cu_3O_(8+δ)(Ga-1223),respectively.All compounds are fabricated by solid state reaction method under high pressure and high temperature.Samples are characterized by resistivity, magnetization and X-ray diffraction(XRD)measurements. The temperature dependence of magnetization measured in both zero-field-cooled and field-cooled processes on one sample(S1)shows two superconducting transitions at about 82 K and113 K.The estimated shielding fraction for the phase with T_cof 82 K is about 67%,while the fraction for another phase with T_(c )of 113 K is quite small. The XRD Rietveld refinement for S1 indicates two main phases existing in the sample,Ga-1256 with fraction of about 58%and non-superconducting Ca_(0.85)Cu O_2with fraction of about 42%respectively.Thus,we can conclude the superconducting phase with transition temperature of 82 K is due to Ga-1256.The resistivity measurement also confirms the superconductivity for S1,and the resistivity reaches zero at about 82 K.The temperature dependence of magnetization for another sample(S2)shows much higher superconducting shielding fraction for the phase with T_cof 116 K,which may be a promising prospective for the synthesis of Ga-1234 or Ga-1223 phase.Yue Zhang Wenhao Liu Jin Si Xiyu Zhu Chengping He Haonan Zhao Hai-Hu Wen 2018Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,9:0

Neddylation is a novel therapeutic target for lupus by regulating double negative T cell homeostasis显示文摘Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),a severe autoimmune disorder,is characterized by systemic inflammatory response, autoantibody accumulation and damage to organs. The dysregulation of double-negative(DN)T cells is considered as a crucial commander during SLE.Neddylation,a significant type of protein post-translational modification(PTM),has been well-proved to regulate T cell-mediated immune response. However, the function of neddylation in SLE is still unknown. Here,we reported that neddylation inactivation with MLN4924,a specific inhibitor of NEDD8-activating enzyme E1(NAE1),or genetic abrogation of Ube2m in T cells decreased DN T cell accumulation and attenuated murine lupus development.Further investigations revealed that inactivation of neddylation blocked Bim ubiquitination degradation and maintained Bim level in DN T cells, contributing to the apoptosis of the accumulated DN T cells in lupus mice. Then double knockout(KO)lupus-prone mice(Ube2m-/-Bim-/-lpr)were generated and results showed that loss of Bim reduced Ube2m deficiency-induced apoptosis in DN T cells and reversed the alleviated lupus progression. Our findings identified that neddylation inactivation promoted Bim-mediated DN T cell apoptosis and attenuated lupus progression.Clinically,we also found that in SLE patients, the proportion of DN T cells was raised and their apoptosis was reduced. Moreover, compared to healthy groups,SLE patients exhibited decreased Bim levels and elevated Cullin1 neddylation levels.Meantime, the inhibition of neddylation induced Bim-dependent apoptosis of DN T cells isolated from SLE patients.Altogether, our findings provide the direct evidence about the function of neddylation during lupus, suggesting a promising therapeutic approach for this disease.Yun Zhang Lijun Du Chenxi Wang Zhangsheng Jiang Qingchi Duan Yiping Li Zhijun Xie Zhixing He Yi Sun Lin Huang Liwei Lu Chengping Wen 2024Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2024,9,2:0
Brain Pathology in COVID-19:Clinical Manifestations and Potential Mechanisms显示文摘Neurological manifestations of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)are less noticeable than the respiratory symptoms, but they may be associated with disability and mortality in COVID-19.Even though Omicron caused less severe disease than Delta, the incidence of neurological manifestations is similar.More than 30%of patients experienced“brain fog”,delirium, stroke, and cognitive impairment, and over half of these patients presented abnormal neuroimaging outcomes. In this review,we summarize current advances in the clinical findings of neurological manifestations in COVID-19 patients and compare them with those in patients with influenza infection. We also illustrate the structure and cellular invasion mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 and describe the pathway for central SARS-CoV-2 invasion. In addition,we discuss direct damage and other pathological conditions caused by SARS-CoV-2,such as an aberrant interferon response, cytokine storm, lymphopenia, and hypercoagulation,to provide treatment ideas. This review may offer new insights into preventing or treating brain damage in COVID-19.Zhixing Xu Hui Wang Siya Jiang Jiao Teng Dongxu Zhou Zhong Chen Chengping Wen Zhenghao Xu 2024Neuroscience Bulletin2024,40,3:0
An Environmentally Benign Catalytic Method for Versatile Synthesis of 1,4-Dihydropyridines via Multicomponent Reactions显示文摘The synthesis of diverse 1,4-dihydropyridines have been achieved via the multicomponent reactions of aldehydes, enaminones and amines. The reactions have been smoothly performed in water to provide all products with moderate to excellent yields by using lactic acid as a green catalyst.Shuo Cao Shanshan Zhong Changfeng Hu Jie-Ping Wan Chengping Wen 2015Chinese Journal of Chemistry2015,33,5:0
Pressure induced color change and evolution of metallic behavior in nitrogen-doped lutetium hydride显示文摘By applying pressures up to 42 GPa on the nitrogen-doped lutetium hydride(LuH2_(±x)N_(y)),we have found a gradual change of color from dark-blue to pink-violet in the pressure region of about 12 to 21 GPa.The temperature dependence of resistivity under pressures up to 50.5 GPa shows progressively optimized metallic behavior with pressure.Interestingly,in the pressure region for the color change,a clear decrease of resistivity is observed with the increase of pressure, which is accompanied by a clear increase of the residual resistivity ratio(RRR).Fitting to the low temperature resistivity gives exponents of about 2,suggesting a Fermi-liquid behavior in the low temperature region. The general behavior in a wide temperature region suggests that the electron-phonon scattering is still the dominant one.The magnetoresistance up to 9 T in the state under a pressure of 50.5 GPa shows an almost negligible effect, which suggests that the electric conduction in the pink-violet state is dominated by a single band.It is highly desired to have theoretical efforts in understanding the evolution of color and resistivity in this interesting system.Ying-Jie Zhang Xue Ming Qing Li Xiyu Zhu Bo Zheng Yuecong Liu Chengping He Huan Yang Hai-Hu Wen 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,8:0
B1-cell-produced anti-phosphatidylserine antibodies contribute to lupus nephritis development via TLR-mediated Syk activation显示文摘Autoantibodies produced by B cells play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, both the cellular source of antiphospholipid antibodies and their contributions to the development of lupus nephritis (LN) remain largely unclear. Here, we report a pathogenic role of anti-phosphatidylserine (PS) autoantibodies in the development of LN. Elevated serum PS-specific IgG levels were measured in model mice and SLE patients, especially in those with LN. PS-specific IgG accumulation was found in the kidney biopsies of LN patients. Both transfer of SLE PS-specific IgG and PS immunization triggered lupus-like glomerular immune complex deposition in recipient mice. ELISPOT analysis identified B1a cells as the main cell type that secretes PS-specific IgG in both lupus model mice and patients. Adoptive transfer of PS-specific B1a cells accelerated the PS-specific autoimmune response and renal damage in recipient lupus model mice, whereas depletion of B1a cells attenuated lupus progression. In culture, PS-specific B1a cells were significantly expanded upon treatment with chromatin components, while blockade of TLR signal cascades by DNase I digestion and inhibitory ODN 2088 or R406 treatment profoundly abrogated chromatin-induced PS-specific IgG secretion by lupus B1a cells. Thus, our study has demonstrated that the anti-PS autoantibodies produced by B1 cells contribute to lupus nephritis development. Our findings that blockade of the TLR/Syk signaling cascade inhibits PS-specific B1-cell expansion provide new insights into lupus pathogenesis and may facilitate the development of novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of LN in SLE.Kongyang Ma Wenhan Du Shiyun Wang Fan Xiao Jingyi Li Jie Tian Yida Xing Xiaodan Kong Ke Rui Rencai Qin Xiaoxia Zhu Jing Wang Cainan Luo Haijing Wu Yun Zhang Chengping Wen Lan He Dongzhou Liu Hejian Zou Qianjin Lu Lijun Wu Liwei Lu 2023Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,8:0
