1Adsorption–desorption behavior of atrazine on agricultural soils in China显示文摘Adsorption and desorption are important processes that affect atrazine transport,transformation,and bioavailability in soils.In this study,the adsorption–desorption characteristics of atrazine in three soils(laterite,paddy soil and alluvial soil) were evaluated using the batch equilibrium method.The results showed that the kinetics of atrazine in soils was completed in two steps:a'fast' adsorption and a 'slow' adsorption and could be well described by pseudo-second-order model.In addition,the adsorption equilibrium isotherms were nonlinear and were well fitted by Freundlich and Langmuir models.It was found that the adsorption data on laterite,and paddy soil were better fitted by the Freundlich model;as for alluvial soil,the Langmuir model described it better.The maximum atrazine sorption capacities ranked as follows:paddy soil > alluvial soil > laterite.Results of thermodynamic calculations indicated that atrazine adsorption on three tested soils was spontaneous and endothermic.The desorption data showed that negative hysteresis occurred.Furthermore,lower solution pH value was conducive to the adsorption of atrazine in soils.The atrazine adsorption in these three tested soils was controlled by physical adsorption,including partition and surface adsorption.At lower equilibrium concentration,the atrazine adsorption process in soils was dominated by surface adsorption;while with the increase of equilibrium concentration,partition was predominant.Lin Yue ChengJun Ge Dan Feng Huamei Yu Hui Deng Bomin Fu 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,7:16
2Experimental and mesoscopic investigation on the dynamic properties of coral aggregate concrete in compression显示文摘To investigate the dynamic responses and comprehending the damage mechanism of coral aggregate concrete(CAC) in compression, both the experimental and numerical investigations were implemented in the present work. Firstly, the dynamic mechanical properties of CAC at different strain rates were tested through the Split-Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) tests.Moreover, the effects of concrete strength grade and strain rate on CAC were discussed and analyzed. Subsequently, we developed the three-dimensional(3D) random mesoscale model considering the randomness of aggregate shape, size and distribution at meso-level, which was validated and employed in the numerical simulation of CAC in compression. The results indicate that the splitting failure passing through the coral aggregate is CAC’S primary failure mode. It has been found that the failure pattern, deformation process, and dynamic increasing factor of CAC are associated with both the strain rate and concrete strength grade. 3Patterns and determinants of wood physical and mechanical properties across major tree species in China显示文摘The physical and mechanical properties of wood affect the growth and development of trees, and also act as the main criteria when determining wood usage. Our understanding on patterns and controls of wood physical and mechanical properties could provide benefits for forestry management and bases for wood application and forest tree breeding. However, current studies on wood properties mainly focus on wood density and ignore other wood physical properties. In this study, we established a comprehensive database of wood physical properties across major tree species in China. Based on this database, we explored spatial patterns and driving factors of wood properties across major tree species in China. Our results showed that(i) compared with wood density, air-dried density, tangential shrinkage coefficient and resilience provide more accuracy and higher explanation power when used as the evaluation index of wood physical properties.(ii) Among life form, climatic and edaphic variables, life form is the dominant factor shaping spatial patterns of wood physical properties, climatic factors the next, and edaphic factors have the least effects, suggesting that the effects of climatic factors on spatial variations of wood properties are indirectly induced by their effects on species distribution.ZHU JiangLing SHI Yue FANG LeQi LIU XingE JI ChengJun 2015Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,6:4
4Geochemical characteristics of hadal sediment in the northern Yap Trench显示文摘Two sediment cores were retrieved in the hadal zone of the Yap Trench,and their concentrations of six major elements Mg,Al,Ca,Ti,Mn and Fe and nine trace elements Sr,Ba,Pb,V,Cr,Co,Ni,Cu and Zn were determined in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES).According to the vertical distribution profiles of the 15 elements,the correlation of their concentrations,the ratios of Ni/Co,V/Cr,Fe/Al,and Ti/Al,and morphological characteristics of the sediment samples,the implications of the depositional environment and the sediment provenance were analyzed.The results show that the ratio of Ni/Co in all depths of the two sediment cores were below 5,and the ratio of V/Cr were lower than 2,indicating that the depositional environment of the hadal zone in the trench was oxidative and might have inflow of the Antarctic bottom oxygen-rich water.The sediment samples on the eastern side of the trench were siliceous mud mainly composed of diatoms,radiolarian,and sponge needles from surface to deep layer.The vertical profile of the elements,the concentration of TOC and the fossil record indicated that the sediment sample from station Dive113 was well mixed from surface to bottom layer.Based on the correlation of concentrations of the elements,the morphological characteristics of the sediment,and the ratios of Fe/Al and Ti/Al,we inferred that the sediment in the hadal zone of the trench had terrestrial,volcanic,biological,and authigenic sources.Major source of the sediment in the eastern side of the trench were terrestrial;whereas the sediment in the western side of the trench received more volcaniclastic input.HUANG Yuhuan SUN Chengjun YANG Guipeng YUE Xin’an JIANG Fenghua CAO Wei YIN Xiaofei GUO Chaonan NIU Jiaohong DING Haibing 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3:3
5Constructing built-in electric field in graphitic carbon nitride hollow nanospheres by co-doping and modified in-situ Ni_(2)P for broad spectrum photocatalytic activity显示文摘The construction of built-in electric field is generally considered as an effective strategy to enhance photocatalytic performance due to its significant role in charge separation.Herein,a built-in electric field within g-C_(3)N_4 hollow nanospheres co-doped with sulfur and oxygen and modified in-situ Ni_(2)P is proposed.Ni_(2)P/SO-HC_(3)N_4 exhibits significantly enhanced board spectrum photocatalytic properties for hydrogen precipitation(5.21 mmol h^(-1)g^(-1))and photocatalytic Cr(VI)reduction without the use of noble metal.It also achieves high photocatalytic sterilization activity and remarkable stability when used to completely inactivate E.coli(10~7)in 60 min under Vis-NIR light irradiation.The enhanced performance is attributed to the formation of a curved hollow sphere structure,which promotes the electron transfer between the inner and outer layers.In addition,co-doping inhibits the recombination of photogenerated carriers,and the built-in electric field recombined with Ni_(2)facilitates the electron transfer between the composite interfaces.This design strategy demonstrates an original method of devising multifunctional photocatalysts with enhanced activity and stability.Linlin Zhang Wenxing Peng YaKun Li Rui Qin Dong Yue Chengjun Ge Jianjun Liao 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,31:0
6Dynamic Impact Compressive Behavior Investigation of Sisal Fiber-reinforced Coral Seawater Concrete显示文摘Split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)was used to investigate the dynamic compressive properties of sisal fiber reinforced coral aggregate concrete(SFCAC).The results showed that,with the increase of strain rate,the dynamic compressive strength,peak strain and toughness index of SFCAC are all greater than its static properties,indicating that SFCAC is a kind of rate-sensitive material.When the sisal fiber was blended,the failure mode showed obvious ductility.At high strain rates,the SFCAC without sisal fiber specimen was comminuted,and the SFCAC showed a'cracked without breaking'state.The results indicated that the sisal fiber played a significant role in reinforcing and strengthening the properties of concrete.The finite element software LS-DYNA was used to simulate two working conditions with strain rates of 78 and 101 s-1.The stressstrain curves and failure patterns obtained were in good agreement with the experimental results.MA Haiyan TAN Yongshan YU Hongfa YUE Chengjun ZHANG Yan 2023Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2023,38,5:0
7Service Life Design for Concrete Engineering in Marine Environments of Northern China Based on a Modified Theoretical Model of Chloride Diffusion and Large Datasets of Ocean Parameters显示文摘In this study,through experimental research and an investigation on large datasets of the durability parameters in ocean engineering,the values,ranges,and types of distribution of the durability parameters employed for the durability design in ocean engineering in northern China were confirmed.Based on a modified theoretical model of chloride diffusion and the reliability theory,the service lives of concrete structures exposed to the splash,tidal,and underwater zones were calculated.Mixed concrete proportions meeting the requirement of a service life of 100 or 120 years were designed,and a cover thickness requirement was proposed.In addition,the effects of the different time-varying relationships of the boundary condition(Cs)and diffusion coefficient(Df)on the service life were compared;the results showed that the time-varying relationships used in this study(i.e.,Cscontinuously increased and then remained stable,and Dfcontinuously decreased and then remained stable)were beneficial for the durability design of concrete structures in marine environment.Taotao Feng Hongfa Yu Yongshan Tan Haiyan Ma Mei Xu Chengjun Yue 2022Engineering2022,,10:0
