| 1 | Zanthoxylum-specific whole genome duplication and recent activity of transposable elements in the highly repetitive paleotetraploid Z.bungeanum genome显示文摘Zanthoxylum bungeanum is an important spice and medicinal plant that is unique for its accumulation of abundant secondary metabolites, which create a characteristic aroma and tingling sensation in the mouth.Owing to the high proportion of repetitive sequences, high heterozygosity, and increased chromosome number of Z.bungeanum, the assembly of its chromosomal pseudomolecules is extremely challenging. Here,we present a genome sequence for Z.bungeanum, with a dramatically expanded size of 4.23 Gb,assembled into 68 chromosomes. This genome is approximately tenfold larger than that of its close relative Citrus sinensis. After the divergence of Zanthoxylum and Citrus, the lineage-specific whole-genome duplication event q-WGD approximately 26.8 million years ago(MYA)and the recent transposable element(TE)burst~6.41 MYA account for the substantial genome expansion in Z.bungeanum.The independent Zanthoxylum-specific WGD event was followed by numerous fusion/fission events that shaped the genomic architecture.Integrative genomic and transcriptomic analyses suggested that prominent speciesspecific gene family expansions and changes in gene expression have shaped the biosynthesis of sanshools, terpenoids, and anthocyanins, which contribute to the special flavor and appearance of Z.bungeanum.In summary, the reference genome provides a valuable model for studying the impact of WGDs with recent TE activity on gene gain and loss and genome reconstruction and provides resources to accelerate Zanthoxylum improvement. | Shijing Feng Zhenshan Liu Jian Cheng Zihe Li Lu Tian Min Liu Tuxi Yang Yulin Liu Yonghong Liu He Dai Zujun Yang Qing Zhang Gang Wang Jisen Zhang Huifeng Jiang Anzhi Wei | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 5 |

| 3 | Interaction potential of two nonidentical ground-state atoms显示文摘We study the interaction potential of two nonidentical ground-state atoms coupled to a scalar field in a vacuum by separately calculating the contributions of vacuum fluctuations and those of the radiation reaction of the atoms. Both cases of atoms in a free space and in parallel or vertical alignment to a reflecting boundary are considered. For the former case,we find that the leading-order interaction potential in the regionλA?L?λB exhibits the same separationdependence as that in the region L?λA?λB,where L,λA andλB are respectively the interatomic separation and the transition wavelengths of two atoms withλA?λB.For the latter case,we find that boundary-induced modifications are very remarkable when L?z,with z characterizing the separation between the two-atom system and the boundary.Particularly, when L further satisfies L?λA and L?λB,the interaction potential in the parallel-and the verticalalignment cases respectively scales as z4L-7 and z2L-5,the L-dependence of which is one order higher than those of two atoms in regions where L?z and meanwhile L?λA or/and L?λB.Our results suggest that retardation for the interaction potential of two nonidentical atoms with remarkably distinctive transition frequencies happens only when the interatomic separation is much greater than the transition wavelengths of both atoms. | Yan Peng Shijing Cheng Wenting Zhou | 2023 | Communications in Theoretical Physics2023,75,8: | 0 |
| 4 | Quantum thermal field fluctuation induced corrections to the interaction between two ground-state atoms显示文摘We generalize the formalism proposed by Dalibard, Dupont-Roc, and Cohen-Tannoudji(the DDC formalism) in the fourth order for two atoms in interaction with scalar fields in vacuum to a thermal bath at finite temperature T, and then calculate the interatomic interaction energy of two ground-state atoms separately in terms of the contributions of thermal fluctuations and the radiation reaction of the atoms and analyze in detail the thermal corrections to the van der Waals and Casimir–Polder interactions. We discover a particular region, i.e. 4(λ3β)(1/2) ■ L■λwith L, β and λ denoting the interatomic separation, the wavelength of thermal photons and the transition wavelength of the atoms respectively, where the thermal corrections remarkably render the van der Waals force, which is usually attractive, repulsive, leading to an interesting crossover phenomenon of the interatomic interaction from attractive to repulsive as the temperature increases. We also find that the thermal corrections cause significant changes to the Casimir–Polder force when the temperature is sufficiently high, resulting in an attractive force proportional to TL-3in the λ ■ β ■ L region, and a force that can be either attractive or repulsive and even vanishing in the β ■ λ ■ L region depending on the interatomic separation. | Shijing Cheng Wenting Zhou Hongwei Yu | 2022 | Communications in Theoretical Physics2022,74,12: | 0 |
