1Routine exposure of recurrent laryngeal nerve in thyroid surgery can prevent nerve injury显示文摘To determine the value of dissecting the recurrent laryngeal nerve during thyroid surgery with respect to preventing recurrent laryngeal nerve injury, we retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 5 344 patients undergoing thyroidectomy. Among these cases, 548 underwent dissection of the recurrent laryngeal nerve, while 4 796 did not. There were 12 cases of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury following recurrent laryngeal nerve dissection (injury rate of 2.2%) and 512 cases of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury in those not undergoing nerve dissection (injury rate of 10.7%). This difference remained statistically significant between the two groups in terms of type of thyroid disease, type of surgery, and number of surgeries. Among the 548 cases undergoing recurrent laryngeal nerve dissection, 128 developed anatomical variations of the recurrent laryngeal nerve (incidence rate of 23.4%), but no recurrent laryngeal nerve injury was found. In addition, the incidence of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury was significantly lower in patients with the inferior parathyroid gland and middle thyroid veins used as landmarks for locating the recurrent laryngeal nerve compared with those with the entry of the recurrent laryngeal nerve into the larynx as a landmark. 2A New Approach to Solving Nonlinear Programming显示文摘A method for solving nonlinear programming using genetic algorithm is presented. In the operations of crossover and mutation in each generation, to ensure the new solutions are all feasible, we present a method in which the bounds of every variable in the solution are estimated beforehand according to the constrained conditions. For the operation of mutation, we present two methods of cube bounding and variable bounding. The experimental results are given and analyzed. 3Challenges and perspectives of covalent organic frameworks for advanced alkali-metal ion batteries显示文摘Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)are a class of porous crystalline polymers that have been widely investigated in various fields,including energy storage,photo/electrocatalysis,drug delivery.The covalent-bond interconnection allows COFs extraordinary chemical and thermal stability,and the porous structure ensures a high ion-diffusion coefficient.These merits compensate for the drawbacks of organic electrodes that are easy to dissolve and have low charge conductivity,and promote the development of novel electrode materials with excellent performance,environmental friendliness,and low price.However,the application of COFs also encountered many problems,such as poor electronic conductivity due to the large band gap.Moreover,in some three-dimensional(3D)COFs and stacked two-dimensional(2D)COFs,the huge crystal structure,aligned ultralong channels,and numerous crystal defects usually impede ion transport,and the large molecular weights of COFs generally decrease the specific capacities.These issues are urgently needed to be solved.Here in this review,we summarize the latest progress,core challenges and coping strategies concerning with the use of COFs in alkali-metal ion batteries,discuss the impact of material structure on energy storage,and propose strategies for the construction of high-performance COF-based electrodes.Jingyi Xu Yifan Xu Chenling Lai Tingting Xia Beining Zhang Xiaosi Zhou 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,8:5

5Adsorption mechanism of phenolic compounds from aqueous solution on hypercrosslinked polymeric adsorbent显示文摘The adsorption of two phenols, namely, phenol and salicylic acid(SA) onto a water-compatible hypercrosslinked polymeric resin(NJ-8) were studied in terms of pseudo-second-order and first order mechanisms for chemical sorption as well as an intraparticle diffusion mechanism process. Kinetic analysis showed that the intraparticle diffusion process was the essential rate-controlling step. The activation energies of sorption have also been evaluated with the pseudo-second-order and intraparticle diffusion constants, respectively. Adsorption equilibrium data were well fitted by the Langmuir, Freundlich and Redlich-Peterson isotherms. Adsorption was exothermic and basically of a type of transition between physical and chemical character. The sorption capacity was higher for SA due to its more hydrophobic. 6A new species of the genus Crocidura(Mammalia:Eulipotyphla:Soricidae) from Mount Huang, China显示文摘In this study, a new species of white-toothed shrew, Crocidura huangshanensis Yang, BW Zhang & Li, sp. nov. was described based on five individuals collected from the Mt. Huang of China. Its morphological data and mt DNA sequences(Cyt b) were analyzed. Morphologically, C. huangshanensis Yang, BW Zhang & Li, sp. nov. is different from its congeners(C. anhuiensis and C. attenuata) by the body and skull smaller in size and the premolar and molar smoother, which are also different from other Southeast Asian Crocidura. The phylogenetic analysis shows that all individuals of C. huangshanensis Yang, BW Zhang & Li, sp. nov. merged into a single clade. In addition, the genetic distance between C. huangshanensis Yang, BW Zhang & Li, sp. nov. and other species of Crocidura is ranged from 9.8% to 15.3%, indicating a species-level divergence. The new species is currently distributed in the Wild Monkey Valley, located in Mt.
