1Latest Progress of the Chinese Meteorological Satellite Program and Core Data Processing Technologies显示文摘In this paper,the latest progress,major achievements and future plans of Chinese meteorological satellites and the core data processing techniques are discussed.First,the latest three FengYun(FY)meteorological satellites(FY-2H,FY-3D,and FY-4A)and their primary objectives are introduced Second,the core image navigation techniques and accuracies of the FY meteorological satellites are elaborated,including the latest geostationary(FY-2/4)and polar-orbit(FY-3)satellites.Third,the radiometric calibration techniques and accuracies of reflective solar bands,thermal infrared bands,and passive microwave bands for FY meteorological satellites are discussed.It also illustrates the latest progress of real-time calibration with the onboard calibration system and validation with different methods,including the vicarious China radiance calibration site calibration,pseudo invariant calibration site calibration,deep convective clouds calibration,and lunar calibration.Fourth,recent progress of meteorological satellite data assimilation applications and quantitative science produce are summarized at length.The main progress is in meteorological satellite data assimilation by using microwave and hyper-spectral infrared sensors in global and regional numerical weather prediction models.Lastly,the latest progress in radiative transfer,absorption and scattering calculations for satellite remote sensing is summarized,and some important research using a new radiative transfer model are illustrated.Peng ZHANG Qifeng LU Xiuqing HU Songyan GU Lei YANG Min MIN Lin CHEN Na XU Ling Sun Wenguang BAI Gang MA Di XIAN 2019Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2019,36,9:26

3FY-3E:The First Operational Meteorological Satellite Mission in an Early Morning Orbit显示文摘Fengyun-3 E(FY-3E),the world’s first early-morning-orbit meteorological satellite for civil use,was launched successfully at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on 5 July 2021.The FY-3E satellite will fill the vacancy of the global early-morning-orbit satellite observation,working together with the FY-3C and FY-3D satellites to achieve the data coverage of early morning,morning,and afternoon orbits.The combination of these three satellites will provide global data coverage for numerical weather prediction(NWP)at 6-hour intervals,effectively improving the accuracy and time efficiency of global NWP,which is of great significance to perfect the global earth observing system.In this article,the background and meteorological requirements for the early-morning-orbit satellite are reviewed,and the specifications of the FY-3E satellite,as well as the characteristics of the onboard instrumentation for earth observations,are also introduced.In addition,the ground segment and the retrieved geophysical products are also presented.It is believed that the NWP communities will significantly benefit from an optimal temporal distribution of observations provided by the early morning,mid-morning,and afternoon satellite missions.Further benefits are expected in numerous applications such as the monitoring of severe weather/climate events,the development of improved sampling designs of the diurnal cycle for accurate climate data records,more efficient monitoring of air quality by thermal infrared remote sensing,and the quasicontinuous monitoring of the sun for space weather and climate.Peng ZHANG Xiuqing HU Qifeng LU Aijun ZHU Manyun LIN Ling SUN Lin CHEN Na XU 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,1:13

5A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 6Genetic dissection of rice appearance quality and cooked rice elongation by genome-wide association study显示文摘Appearance and cooked rice elongation are key quality traits of rice. Although some QTL for these traits have been identified, understanding of the genetic relationship between them remains limited. In the present study, large phenotypic variation was observed in 760 accessions from the 3 K Rice Genomes Project for both appearance quality and cooked rice elongation. Most component traits of appearance quality and cooked rice elongation showed significant pairwise correlations, but a low correlation was found between appearance quality and cooked rice elongation. A genome-wide association study identified 74 QTL distributed on all 12 chromosomes for grain length, grain width, length to width ratio, degree of endosperm with chalkiness, rice elongation difference, and elongation index. Thirteen regions containing QTL stably expressed in multiple environments and/or exerting pleiotropic effects on multiple traits were detected. By gene-based association analysis and haplotype analysis, 46 candidate genes, including five cloned genes, and 49 favorable alleles were identified for these 13 QTL. The effect of the candidate gene Wx on rice elongation difference was validated by a transgenic strategy. 7Gene characterization and molecular pathway analysis of reverse thermosensitive genic male sterility in eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)显示文摘The naturally occurring mutant eggplant line 05ms was identified with reverse thermosensitive genic male sterility(rTGMS),but its temperature-responsive fertility mechanisms remain largely unknown.Here,we studied the flower morphology,anther cellular structure,and genome-wide gene expression of this rTGMS line.Candidate genes for thermosensitive male sterility during the microspore development of 05ms and the temperature-insensitive line S63 under low-temperature(LT)and high-temperature(HT)conditions were identified.Under LT,tapetum cells were vacuolated and had delayed disintegration in 05ms.RNA-seq analysis indicated that DEGs were enriched in the KEGG pathways‘plant hormone signal transduction’,‘starch and sucrose metabolism’,and‘phenylpropanoid biosynthesis’.We identified two genes,4CLL1(Sme2.5_00368.1_g00010.1)and CKI1(Sme2.5_10056.1_g00002.1),which could potentially regulate eggplant anther development and may be candidate genes for rTGMS.Finally,we propose a working model of anther abortion for rTGMS in eggplant.CKI1 responds to LT stress and causes expression changes in genes related to anther development,such as 4CLL1,and the cellular structure of the tapetum becomes abnormal,causing male sterility.The findings of this study explain the underlying molecular mechanisms of male sterility in eggplant rTGMS lines.Bing Li Xueping Chen Yanrong Wu Aixia Gu Jingjing Zhang Shuangxia Luo Xiurui Gao Jianjun Zhao Xiuqing Pan Shuxing Shen 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:5
8Effects of serum containing natural cerebrolysin on glucose-regulated protein 78 and CCAAT enhancer-binding protein homologous protein expression in neuronal PC12 cells following tunicamycin-induced endoplasmic reticulum stress显示文摘BACKGROUND:Glucose-regulated protein 78(GRP78),a marker of endoplasmic reticulum stress,can prolong cell survival.Alternatively,CCAAT enhancer-binding protein homologous protein(CHOP),a transcription factor specific for endoplasmic reticulum stress,can cause cell cycle arrest and cell apoptosis. OBJECTIVE:To study the protective effects of serum containing natural cerebrolysin on endoplasmic reticulum stress in tunicamycin-induced neuronal PC12 cells,and analyze the influence on GRP78 and CHOP expressions. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:A parallel controlled study was performed at the Institute of Integrated Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine,Shenzhen Hospital,Southern Medical University,between March 2006 and August 2008. MATERIALS:Adult Sprague-Dawley rats were perfused with natural Cerebrolysin aqueous extract(0.185 g/kg/d) to produce serum containing natural Cerebrolysin.Physiological saline was used to produce blank serum.PC12 cell line was provided by Shanghai Institute of Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Science.Tunicamycin was provided by Sigma(St.Louis,USA),and natural Cerebrolysin,containing ginseng,rhizoma gastrodiae,and gingko leaf(1:2:2),by Shengzhen Institute of Integrated Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. METHODS:PC12 cells were treated with DMEM culture media containing 10%blank serum (normal control group),tunicamycin(1μg/mL;model group),and 5%,10%,and 15%serum containing natural cerebrolysin and tunicamycin(1μg/mL;low-,moderate-,and high-dose serum containing natural cerebrolysin groups),for 2 hours. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:PC12 cells were treated with tunicamycin for 48 hours after which apoptosis was measured using the TUNEL method to calculate apoptotic index.GRP78 expression was detected using immunocytochemistry.After 24 hours of treatment with tunicamycin,GRP78 and CHOP mRNA expressions were measured using RT-PCR. RESULTS:The apoptotic index and CHOP mRNA expression were in the model group and three cerebrolysin groups were significantly increased when compared to the normal control group(P<0.05).In contrast,GRP78 mRNA and protein expressions were significantly decreased(P<0.05). CONCLUSION:Serum containing natural cerebrolysin significantly reduced apoptosis in neuronal PC12 cells following tunicamycin-induced endoplasmic reticulum stress.These results may be related to an up-regulation of GRP78 expression and down-regulation of CHOP expression,both of which displayed dose-dependent effects.Zhengzhi Wu Ming Li Andrew C.J. 9An α-expansin, VfEXPA1, is involved in regulation of stomatal movement in Vicia faba L.显示文摘The wall loosening of guard cells differs from other types of plant cells. However, the regulation of wall loosening during stomatal movement is poorly understood. VfEXPA1 is an α-expansin gene cloned from Vicia faba epidermal strips. Expression of VfEXPA1 is regulated by darkness and submergence, and is not affected by light and abscisic acid (ABA). In situ hybridization showed that VfEXPA1 is expressed primarily in the guard cells. Overexpression of VfEXPA1 in transgenic tobacco accelerated light-induced stomatal opening, and increased both transpiration and photosynthetic rates under favorable growth conditions. 10Characteristic analysis of ecosystem service value of water system in Taiyuan urban district based on LUCC显示文摘Changes in the land use and ecosystem service value of the 600 m buffer zone of Jinyang Lake and the 1000 m riparian zone of the Fenhe River in the Taiyuan urban district in China,were studied using satellite image data collected in June 2006 and June 2013.According to the ecosystem services assessment system based on expert knowledge,the ecosystem service value(ESV)per unit area was determined for various land-use types and the value of the water system and its buffer regions in the Taiyuan urban district were determined.And then the relationship between LUCC(Land Use/Cover Change)and ESV was discussed.Moreover,the accuracy and validity of the results was analyzed.The results showed that:(1)the areas of green vegetation and water bodies of Jinyang Lake and its buffer region decreased by 24.96%and 3.22%,respectively,between June 2006 and June 2013,whereas the areas of farmland and built-up land increased by 15.81%and 12.37%,respectively.At Jinyang Lake,the degree of dynamic change for green vegetation,water bodies,farmland,built-up land,and unused land was−0.13,−0.02,0.17,0.09,and−0.05,respectively.In the Fenhe River’s buffer region,the areas of green vegetation,farmland and unused land decreased by 1.36%,6.36%and 0.3%,respectively,but those of built-up land and water bodies increased by 1.41%and 6.61%,respectively.Their degree of dynamic change was−0.03,−0.02,−0.04,0.01 and 0.32,respectively;(2)In 2006,the landscape fragmentation indices(LFI)of Jinyang Lake buffer of 0-200 m zone were greater than 2,but those of 200-600 m buffer zone were less than 0.3,the water-body index not included.However,in 2013,the landscape fragmentation indices of green vegetation and water bodies of 0-600 m buffer zone were both high,meaning that the land-use pattern had improved.The fragmentation index of green vegetation of the 0-200 m buffer increased from 0.1(the minimum for the year)to 1.7(the maximum for the year)during the seven years of this study along the Fenhe River.The fragmentation index of built-up land increased from 0.007 to 0.01 in the 200-500 m buffer and from 0.007 to 0.06 in the 500-1000 m buffer.(3)The total ecosystem service value of Jinyang Lake and its buffer region decreased by 22.673%,whereas during the same period,that of the Fenhe River and its buffer region increased by 41.345%.The total ecosystem service value of the water bodies and their buffer regions in the Taiyuan urban area increased by 13.725%overall.(4)The change rate of the ecosystem service value of the 0-600 m buffer region decreased by 1.579%at Jinyang Lake,while that of the 0-1000 m buffer region increased 5.079%at the Fenhe River over the seven years.Liu Ping Zheng Xiuqing Chen Junfeng Zhang Qing Li Jingling Wu Bo 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,1:3
11Profiling of hepatocellular carcinoma neoantigens reveals immune microenvironment and clonal evolution related patterns显示文摘Objective: Neoantigens derived from tumor-specific genomic alterations have demonstrated great potential for immunotherapeutic interventions in cancers. However, the comprehensive profile of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) neoantigens and their complex interplay with immune microenvironment and tumor evolution have not been fully addressed.Methods: Here we integrated whole exome sequencing data, transcriptome sequencing data and clinical information of 72 primary HCC patients to characterize the HCC neoantigen profile, and systematically explored its interactions with tumor clonal evolution, driver mutations and immune microenvironments.Results: We observed that higher somatic mutation/neoantigen load was associated with better clinical outcomes and HCC patients could be further divided into two subgroups with distinct prognosis based on their neoantigen expression patterns. HCC subgroup with neoantigen expression probability high(NEP-H) showed more aggressive pathologic features including increased incidence of tumor thrombus(P=0.038), higher recurrence rate(P=0.029),more inclined to lack tumor capsule(P=0.026) and with more microsatellite instability sites(P=0.006). In addition,NEP-H subgroup was also characterized by higher chance to be involved in tumor clonal evolution [odds ratio(OR)=46.7, P<0.001]. Gene set enrichment analysis revealed that upregulation of MYC and its targets could suppress immune responses, leading to elevated neoantigen expression proportion in tumor cells. Furthermore, we discovered an immune escape mechanism that tumors could become more inconspicuous by evolving subclones with less immunogenicity. We observed that smaller clonal mutation clusters with higher immunogenicity in tumor were more likely to involve in clonal evolution. 12Effect of acupuncture treatment on smoking cessation in smokers from Hong Kong显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To analyze the characteristics of smokers treated with acupuncture for smoking cessation in Hong Kong.METHODS: A total of 2051 subjects were recruited in a clinical pilot research project 'acupuncture for smoking cessation', which was conducted jointly by Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Hong Kong Pok Oi Hospital from January of 2011 to December of 2013. The characteristics of study subjects, including baseline information, smoking background, intention to quit and influencing factors were analyzed.RESULTS: The majority of subjects treated with acupuncture for smoking cessation in Hong Kong was male(66.7%), but the proportion of female smokers in this study(33.3%) was higher than that of female smokers in Hong Kong population(13.8%, P <0.05). Subjects were at the mean age of 43.83 years old, of which the percentage of females aged 31-40 years was the highest(38.8%, P < 0.05). The mean duration of smoking was 25.49 years. The number of cigarettes smoked per day was 17.57 cigarettes.Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence(FTND)was 5.29 points. Most of the subjects had attempted quitting smoking(81.42%). The confidence index(7.44 points) and the readiness to quit smoking(8.13 points) were high. Subjects quitting smoking were mostly due to health cause(81.91%). The majority of subjects were at the level of middle school(61.63%). The higher the educational level was, the lower the tobacco dependence was and the higher the confidence in successfully quitting smoking was. 50.27% of subjects chose acupuncture for smoking cessation mainly through friends, television and network publicity. Subjects who had received acupuncture had the highest confidence index, while those who wanted to try a new method had the lower confidence index.CONCLUSION: Acupuncture for smoking cessation was more popular in female smokers, especially those aged 31-40 years. 14Review and Discussion on Seismic Subsidence of Loess显示文摘The research and achievements made on seismic subsidence of loess,obtained over the past30 years,were reviewed.Seismic Subsidence of Loess(SSL)has been verified by microstructure characteristics,dynamic triaxial experiments,and in-situ explosion tests,and has become an important subject in the field of seismic loess engineering research.While,the research is still in the stage of theoretical study of saturated soil,and there are no representative cases of seismic subsidence of loess in historical earthquakes.It is difficult to express structure characteristics using microstructure morphology.While,soil mechanics are available methods for this.Seismic subsidence judgment is absolute in some certain value ranges for several parameters.Therefore,probabilistic judgment should be developed.The seismic subsidence ratio is estimated mostly by empirical formulas or semiempirical and semi-theoretical formulas,which are based on laboratory data.These formulas are not established on the basis of physical process and mechanics of seismic subsidence,and this leads to more variables,complicated computation,and poor practicability.To solve these problems,we need to distinguish the main factors and corresponding variables,to establish a mechanics model for seismic subsidence estimation,and to characterize its physio-mechanical process.The key of anti-seismic subsidence treatment is to reduce the seismic subsidence property of soils,and to lower the interaction between the soil body and underground structures.Wang Qiang Sun Junjie Wang Lanmin Chen Xiuqing 2013Earthquake Research in China2013,27,4:2

17Radiometric Cross-Calibration for Multiple Sensors with the Moon as an Intermediate Reference显示文摘The instrument cross-calibration is an effective way to assess the quality of satellite data. In this study, a new method is proposed to cross-calibrate the sensors among satellite instruments by using a RObotic Lunar Observatory(ROLO) model and Apollo sample reflectance in reflective solar bands(RSBs). The ROLO model acts as a transfer radiometer to bridge between the instruments. The reflective spectrum of the Apollo sample is used to compensate for the difference in the instrument's relative spectral responses(RSRs). In addition, the double ratio between the observed lunar irradiance and the simulated lunar irradiance is used to reduce the difference in instrument lunar viewing and illumining geometry. This approach is applied to the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS), the Sea-Viewing Wide Field-of-View Sensor(Sea Wi FS), and the Advanced Land Imager(ALI) on board three satellites, respectively. The mean difference between MODIS and Sea Wi FS is less than 3.14%, and the difference between MODIS and ALI is less than 4.75%. These results indicate that the proposed cross-calibration method not only compensates for the RSR mismatches but also reduces the differences in lunar observation geometry.
