Effects of Bacillus coagulans supplementation on the growth performance and gut health of broiler chickens with Clostridium perfringens-induced necrotic enteritis显示文摘Background: The poultry industry is in need of effective antibiotic alternatives to control outbreaks of necrotic enteritis(NE) due to Clostridium perfringens. Methods: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of feeding Bacil us coagulans on the growth performance and gut health of broiler chickens with C. perfringens-induced NE. Two hundred and forty 1-day-old broiler chicks were randomly assigned to a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement with two dietary B. coagulans levels(0 or 4 × 109 CFU/kg of diet) and two disease chal enge statuses(control or NE chal enged). Results: NE-induced reduction in body weight gain was relieved by the addition of B. coagulans into broiler diets compared with the NE-infected birds. NE infection damaged intestinal morphological structure, promoted intestinal C.perfringens growth and liver invasion, and enhanced anti-C. perfringens specific sI gA concentrations in the gut and specific IgG levels in serum compared with the uninfected birds. NE infection significantly(P < 0.05) decreased mucin-2(at 14 d post-infection(DPI), tol-like receptor 2(TLR2, at 7 and 14 DPI), TLR4(at 7 and 14 DPI), tumor necrosis factor super family15(TNFSF15, at 7 and 14 DPI), lysozyme(LYZ, at 14 DPI) and fowlicidin-2(at 7 and 14 DPI) mR NA levels, whereas it dramatical y(P = 0.001) increased IFN-γ mR NA levels at 7 DPI. However, chal enged birds fed diets supplemented with B.coagulans showed a significant(P < 0.01) decrease in gut lesion scores, decreased C. perfringens numbers in the cecum and liver, and an increase in fowlicidin-2 mR NA levels in compared with the uninfected birds. In addition, compared with the non-supplemented group, dietary inclusion of B. coagulans improved intestinal barrier structure, further increased specific sI gA levels and alkaline phosphatase(IAP) activity in the jejunum, enhanced the expression of jejunum lysozyme mR NA, and inhibited the growth, colonization, and invasion of C. perfringens; in contrast, it reduced serum-specific IgG concentrations and jejunum IFN-γ mR NA levels. Conclusion: These results indicated that dietary B. coagulans supplementation appeared to be effective in preventing the occurrence and reducing the severity of C. perfringens-induced NE in broiler chickens. | Yuanyuan Wu Yujing Shao Bochen Song Wenrui Zhen Zhong Wang Yuming Guo Muhammad Suhaib Shahid Wei Nie | 2018 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2018,9,2: | 31
Effect of co-existent components in CO2 supercritical fluid extract of Angelica Sinensis Radix on metabolism of Z-ligustilide after oral administration in rats显示文摘Objective:To establish a basis for Angelica Sinensis Radix(ASR)as a dietary supplement for colorectal cancer chemoprevention, the effect of co-existent components in supercritical fluid extract(SFE)of ASR on the pharmacokinetics of Z-ligustilide after oral administration was investigated in vitro and in vivo. Methods:Incubation in gastrointestinal contents and incubation in rat liver tissue homogenates post-mitochondrial supernatant(PMS)experiments were used to study changes in the levels of Z-ligustilide in vitro. Results:Within 4 hours, the level of Z-ligustilide in SFE declined at a slower rate than in its pure form.Clearance of Z-ligustilide after administration in its pure form was significantly slower than that of SFE of ASR(CL,0.96±0.16 mL·min/kg versus 1.24±0.21 mL·min/kg P<0.05;AUC,243.37±16.84 versus 176.69±12.59 mg·min/L).Conclusion:These phenomena may be attributed to the interactions between the co-existent components in SFE of ASR and Z-ligustilide enhancing the stability of Z-ligustilide.These results suggest that the bioavailability of Z-ligustilide in SFE of ASR is improved. However, stabilization of plasma concentration was not sustained,so that the efficacy of active components could not be maintained. Thus, further processing of SFE of ASR is required. | Bochen Zhao Qing Zhang Hongmei Lin Qingguo Ru Qian Kang Hui Li Yewen Zhang Qing Wu | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2014,1,2: | 2
A review of methods for mitigating ionospheric artifacts in differential SAR interferometry显示文摘Interferometric synthetic aperture radar(InSAR)has been widely used to measure ground displacements related to geophysical and anthropic activities over the past three decades.Satellite SAR systems use microwave signals that interact with the ionosphere when they travel through it during the imaging processes. In this context, ionospheric variations can significantly contaminate SAR imagery, which in turn affects spaceborne InSAR measurements. This bias also leads to a decrease in the coherence and accuracy of InSAR measurements, especially for the low-frequency SAR systems. In this paper,we give an overview of the latest methods for mitigating the ionospheric contributions in InSAR,including Faraday rotation method, azimuth shift method, and range split-spectrum method, and only focus on the single pair of InSAR interferograms. The current challenges and future perspectives are outlined at the end of this paper. | Bochen Zhang Wu Zhu Xiaoli Ding Chisheng Wang Songbo Wu Qin Zhang | 2022 | Geodesy and Geodynamics2022,13,2: | 2
Bifunctional flame retardant solid-state electrolyte toward safe Li metal batteries显示文摘Solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)are one of the most promising alternatives to flammable liquid electrolytes for building safe Li metal batteries.Nevertheless, the poor ionic conductivity at room temperature(RT)and low resistance to Li dendrites seriously hinder the commercialization of SPEs.Herein,we design a bifunctional flame retardant SPE by combining hydroxyapatite(HAP)nanomaterials with Nmethyl pyrrolidone(NMP)in the PVDF-HFP matrix. The addition of HAP generates a hydrogen bond network with the PVDF-HFP matrix and cooperates with NMP to facilitate the dissociation of Li TFSI in the PVDF-HFP matrix.Consequently, the prepared SPE demonstrates superior ionic conductivity at RT,excellent fireproof properties, and strong resistance to Li dendrites. The assembled Li symmetric cell with prepared SPE exhibits a stable cycling performance of over 1200 h at 0.2 m A cm^(-2),and the solid-state LiFePO_4||Li cell shows excellent capacity retention of 85.3%over 600 cycles at 0.5 C. | Qiang Lv Yajie Song Bo Wang Shangjie Wang Bochen Wu Yutong Jing Huaizheng Ren Shengbo Yang Lei Wang Lihui Xiao Dianlong Wang Huakun Liu Shixue Dou | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,6: | 1
Cu/CdcO_(3)catalysts for efficient electrochemical CO_(2)reduction over the wide potential window显示文摘High efficiency and low-cost catalyst-driven electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction to CO production are of great significance for energy storage and development. The severe competitive hydrogen evolution reaction occurs at large negative potential window limits the achievement of the target product from CO_(2)at high efficiency. Here,we successfully prepared Cu_(x)/CdcO_(3)composite catalyst rich in interfaces,in which achieved high CO Faraday eficiency exceeded 90%in a wide potential window of 700 mV and highest value up to 97.9%at-0.90V vs.RHE.The excellent performance can be ascribed to the positive contribution of Cu_(x)/CdcO_(3),which maintains a suitable high local pH value during electrochemical reduction, thus inhibiting the competitive hydrogen evolution reaction. Moreover, the compact structure between Cu and CdCO_(3)ensures fast electron transfer both inside catalysts and interface, thus speeding up the reaction kinetics of CO_(2)to CO conversion.Theoretically calculations further prove that the combination of Cu and CdcO_(3)provides the well-defined electronic structure for intermediates adsorption, significantly reducing the reaction barrier for the formation of co.This work provides new insights into the design of eficient electrochemical CO_(2)reduction catalysts for inhibiting hydrogen evolution by adjusting the local pH effect. | Congwen Sun Jinhui Hao Bing Wei Meng Wu Hong Liu Yusong Xiong Bochen Hu Longhua Li Min Chen Weidong Shi | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,12: | 0
Recent advances in cathodes for all-solid-state lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have been regarded as the candidate for the next-generation energy storage system due to the high theoretical specific capacity(1675 m Ah/g), energy density(2600 Wh/kg)and the abundance of elemental sulfur, but the application of Li-S batteries is impeded by a series of problems. Recently, all-solid-state Li-S batteries(ASSLSBs) have drawn great attention because many drawbacks such as safety issues caused by metallic lithium anodes and organic liquid electrolytes can be overcome through the use of solid-state electrolytes(SEs). However, not only the problems brought by sulfur cathodes still exist, but more trouble arouses from the interfaces between SEs and cathodes, hampering the practical application of ASSLSBs. Therefore, in order to deal with the problems, enormous endeavors have been done on ASSLSB cathodes during the past few decades, including engineering of cathode active materials, cathode host materials, cathode binder materials and cathode structures. In this review, the electrochemical mechanism and existing problems of ASSLSBs are briefly introduced. Subsequently, the strategies for developing cathode materials and designing cathode structures are presented. Then there follows a brief discussion of SE problems and expectations, and finally, the challenges and perspectives of ASSLSBs are summarized. | Shengbo Yang Bo Wang Qiang Lv Nan Zhang Zekun Zhang Yutong Jing Jinbo Li Rui Chen Bochen Wu Pengfei Xu Dianlong Wang | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,7: | 0
