| 1 | An integrated approach for increasing breeding efficiency in apple and peach in Europe显示文摘Despite the availability of whole genome sequences of apple and peach,there has been a considerable gap between genomics and breeding.To bridge the gap,the European Union funded the FruitBreedomics project(March 2011 to August 2015)involving 28 research institutes and private companies.Three complementary approaches were pursued:(i)tool and software development,(ii)deciphering genetic control of main horticultural traits taking into account allelic diversity and(iii)developing plant materials,tools and methodologies for breeders.Decisive breakthroughs were made including the making available of ready-to-go DNA diagnostic tests for Marker Assisted Breeding,development of new,dense SNP arrays in apple and peach,new phenotypic methods for some complex traits,software for gene/QTL discovery on breeding germplasm via Pedigree Based Analysis(PBA).This resulted in the discovery of highly predictive molecular markers for traits of horticultural interest via PBA and via Genome Wide Association Studies(GWAS)on several European genebank collections.FruitBreedomics also developed pre-breeding plant materials in which multiple sources of resistance were pyramided and software that can support breeders in their selection activities.Through FruitBreedomics,significant progresses were made in the field of apple and peach breeding,genetics,genomics and bioinformatics of which advantage will be made by breeders,germplasm curators and scientists.A major part of the data collected during the project has been stored in the FruitBreedomics database and has been made available to the public.This review covers the scientific discoveries made in this major endeavour,and perspective in the apple and peach breeding and genomics in Europe and beyond. | Francois Laurens Maria JoséAranzana Pere Arus Daniele Bassi Marco Bink Joan Bonany Andrea Caprera Luca Corelli-Grappadelli Evelyne Costes Charles-Eric Durel Jehan-Baptiste Mauroux Hélène Muranty Nelson Nazzicari Thierry Pascal Andrea Patocchi Andreas Peil Bénédicte Quilot-Turion Laura Rossini Alessandra Stella Michela Troggio Riccardo Velasco Eric van de Weg | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 10 |
| 2 | Determination of hexabromocyclododecanes in sediments from the Haihe River in China by an optimized HPLC–MS–MS method显示文摘Hexabromocyclododecanes(HBCDs),a new type of persistent organic pollutants widely used as brominated flame retardants,have attracted wide attention due to their increasing level and toxicity. A method based on high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry(HPLC–MS–MS)in electrospray ionization mode has been developed by optimization of various parameters,which effectively improved the separation degree and responsive intensity of α-,β-and γ-HBCD isomers. The concentrations and distribution profiles of three HBCD isomers were investigated in sediments from the Haihe River in China.It was observed that the concentrations of HBCDs varied in the range of 0.4–58.82 ng/g,showing a decreasing trend along the flow direction,possibly due to attenuation and biodegradation along the flow direction of the Haihe River. The distribution profile of α-,β-,γ-HBCD was 7.91%–88.6%,0–91.47%,and 0.62%–42.83%,respectively. Interestingly,α-HBCD dominated in most sample sites. This was different from the distribution profile in commercial industrial products,which might be attributed to the inter-transformation and different degradation rates of the three HBCD isomers. The potential ecological risk of HBCDs in sediment was characterized under the two-tiered procedure of the European Medicines Evaluation Agency for environmental risk assessment. | 3 | Frequency-specific abnormalities in regional homogeneity among children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: a resting-state f MRI study显示文摘Although many functional magnetic resonance imaging(f MRI) studies have investigated the neurophysiology of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD),the existing studies have not yielded consistent findings.This may be related to the different properties of different frequency bands. To investigate the frequency-specific regional homogeneity(Re Ho) of spontaneous neural activities in ADHD, the current study used resting-state f MRI to explore the Re Ho properties of five frequency bands, slow-5(0.01–0.027 Hz), slow-4(0.027–0.073 Hz),slow-3(0.073–0.198 Hz), slow-2(0.198–0.25 Hz) and the extra-low frequency(0–0.01 Hz), in 30 drug-naive boys with ADHD and 30 healthy controls. Compared with controls, the ADHD group showed decreased Re Ho in the default mode network(DMN) including the medial prefrontal cortex and precuneus, middle frontal gyrus and angular gyrus. ADHD patients also showed increased Re Ho in the posterior cerebellum. Significant interactions between frequency band and group were observed predominantly in the dorsolateral prefrontal and parietal cortices, orbital frontal cortex, supplementary motor area,inferior occipital gyrus, thalamus and anterior cerebellum.In particular, we found that the between-group difference in the extra-low frequency band(0–0.01 Hz) seemed to be greater than that in the other frequency bands for most brain regions. | 5 | Grain oriented growth and properties of ultra-high temperature CaBi_2Nb_2O_9 piezoelectric ceramics显示文摘CaBi2Nb2O9 (CBNO) ceramics was prepared at 1050℃ using regular flake-like CBNO powders as the precursor, and synthe-sized by the molten salts synthesis method. The tropism degree and microstructure of the ceramics were analyzed, and the die-lectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties were characterized. Compared with conventional methods, the properties of CBNO ceramics by the new preparation method were found to be better. As the sinter temperature decreases, the grain growth becomes regular with textured features. The polarization process becomes easy to be realized at room temperature.
