Western North Pacific Tropical Cyclone Database Created by the China Meteorological Administration显示文摘This paper describes the access to, and the content, characteristics, and potential applications of the tropical cyclone(TC) database that is maintained and actively developed by the China Meteorological Administration, with the aim of facilitating its use in scientific research and operational services. This database records data relating to all TCs that have passed through the western North Pacific(WNP) and South China Sea(SCS) since 1949. TC data collection has expanded over recent decades via continuous TC monitoring using remote sensing and specialized field detection techniques, allowing collation of a multi-source TC database for the WNP and SCS that covers a long period, with wide coverage and many observational elements. This database now comprises a wide variety of information related to TCs, such as historical or real-time locations(i.e., best track and landfall), intensity, dynamic and thermal structures, wind strengths, precipitation amounts, and frequency. This database will support ongoing research into the processes and patterns associated with TC climatic activity and TC forecasting. | Xiaoqin LU Hui YU Ming YING Bingke ZHAO Shuai ZHANG Limin LIN Lina BAI Rijin WAN | 2021 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,4: | 96
Analysis of genetic architecture and favorable allele usage of agronomic traits in a large collection of Chinese rice accessions显示文摘Genotyping and phenotyping large natural populations provide opportunities for population genomic analysis and genome-wide association studies(GWAS). Several rice populations have been re-sequenced in the past decade;however, many major Chinese rice cultivars were not included in these studies. Here, we report large-scale genomic and phenotypic datasets for a collection mainly comprised of 1,275 rice accessions of widely planted cultivars and parental hybrid rice lines from China. The population was divided into three indica/Xian and three japonica/Geng phylogenetic subgroups that correlate strongly with their geographic or breeding origins. We acquired a total of 146 phenotypic datasets for 29 agronomic traits under multi-environments for different subpopulations. With GWAS, we identified a total of 143 significant association loci, including three newly identified candidate genes or alleles that control heading date or amylose content. Our genotypic analysis of agronomically important genes in the population revealed that many favorable alleles are underused in elite accessions, suggesting they may be used to provide improvements in future breeding efforts. Our study provides useful resources for rice genetics research and breeding. | Xiuxiu Li Zhuo Chen Guomin Zhang Hongwei Lu Peng Qin Ming Qi Ying Yu Bingke Jiao Xianfeng Zhao Qiang Gao Hao Wang Yunyu Wu Juntao Ma Liyan Zhang Yongli Wang Lingwei Deng Shanguo Yao Zhukuang Cheng Diqiu Yu Lihuang Zhu Yongbiao Xue Chengcai Chu Aihong Li Shigui Li Chengzhi Liang | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,11: | 8
Validation of Doppler Wind Lidar during Super Typhoon Lekima (2019)显示文摘This study undertook verification of the applicability and accuracy of wind data measured using a WindCube V2 Doppler Wind Lidar(DWL).The data were collected as part of a field experiment in Zhoushan,Zhejiang Province(China),which was conducted by Shanghai Typhoon Institute of China Meteorological Administration during the passage of Super Typhoon Lekima(2019).The DWL measurements were compared with balloon-borne GPS radiosonde(GPS sonde)data, which were acquired using balloons launched from the DWL location. Results showed that wind speed measured by GPS sonde at heights of<100 m is unreliable owing to the drift effect.Optimal agreement(at heights of>100 m)was found for DWL-measured wind speed time-averaged during the ascent of the GPS sonde from the ground surface to the height of 270 m(correlation coefficient:0.82;root mean square(RMS):2.19 m·h^(-1)).Analysis revealed that precipitation intensity(PI)exerts considerable influence on both the carrier-to-noise ratio and the rate of missing DWL data;however,PI has minimal effect on the wind speed bias of DWL measurements.Specifically, the rate of missing DWL data increased with increasing measurement height and PI.For PI classed as heavy rain or less(PI<12 mm·h^(-1)),the DWL data below 300 m were considered valid, whereas for PI classed as a severe rainstorm(PI>90 m·h^(-1)),only data below 100 m were valid.Up to the height of 300 m,the RMS of the DWL measurements was nearly half that of wind profile radar(WPR)estimates(4.32 m·s^(-1)),indicating that DWL wind data are more accurate than WPR data under typhoon conditions. | Shengming TANG Yun GUO Xu WANG Jie TANG Tiantian LI Bingke ZHAO Shuai ZHANG Yongping LI | 2022 | Frontiers of Earth Science2022,16,1: | 1
Highly efficient 1D p-Te/2D n-Bi_(2)Te_(3) heterojunction self-driven broadband photodetector显示文摘Broadband photodetectors with self-driven functions have attracted intensive scientific interest due to their low energy consumption and high optical gain.However,high-performance broadband self-driven photodetectors are still a significant challenge due to the complex fabrication processes, environmental toxicity, high production costs of traditional 3D semiconductor materials and sharply raised contact resistance, severe interfacial recombination of 2D materials and 2D/3D mixed dimension heterojunction.Here,1D p-Te/2D n-Bi_(2)Te_(3) heterojunctions are constructed by the simple and low-cost hydrothermal method.1D p-Te/2D n-Bi_(2)Te_(3) devices are applied in photoelectrochemical(PEC)photodetectors, with their high performance attributed to the good interfacial contacts reducing interface recombination. The device demonstrated a broad wavelength range(365–850 nm)with an Iph/Idark as high as 377.45.The R_(i),D^(*),and external quantum efficiency(EQE)values of the device were as high as 12.07 mA/W,5.87×10^(10) Jones, and 41.05%,respectively,which were significantly better than the performance of the prepared Bi_(2)Te_(3) and Te devices.A comparison of the freshly fabricated device and the device after 30 days showed that 1D p-Te/2D n-Bi_(2)Te_(3) had excellent stability with only 18.08%decay of photocurrent. It is anticipated that this work will provide new emerging material for future design and preparation of a high-performance self-driven broadband photodetector. | Chenchen Zhao Dongbo Wang Jiamu Cao Zhi Zeng Bingke Zhang Jingwen Pan Donghao Liu Sihang Liu Shujie Jiao Tianyuan Chen Gang Liu Xuan Fang Liancheng Zhao Jinzhong Wang | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,3: | 0
Consistency correction of echo intensity data for multiple radar systems and its application in quantitative estimation of typhoon precipitation显示文摘Calibration error is one of the primary sources of bias in echo intensity measurements by ground-based radar systems.Calibration errors cause data discontinuity between adjacent radars and reduce the effectiveness of the radar system. The Global Precipitation Measurement Kuband Precipitation Radar(GPM KuPR)has been shown to provide stable long-term observations. In this study,GPM KuPR observations were converted to S-band approximations, which were then matched spatially and temporally with ground-based radar observations. The measurements of stratiform precipitation below the melting layer collected by the KuPR during Typhoon Ampil were compared with those of multiple radar systems in the Yangtze River Delta to determine the deviations in the echo intensity between the KuPR and the ground-based radar systems. The echo intensity data collected by the ground-based radar systems was corrected using the KuPR observations as reference, and the correction results were verified by comparing them with rain gauge observations. It was found that after the correction, the consistency of the echo intensity measurements of the multiple radar systems improved significantly, and the precipitation estimates based on the revised ground-based radar observations were closer to the rain gauge measurements. | Shuai ZHANG Jing HAN Bingke ZHAO Zhigang CHU Jie TANG Limin LIN Xiaoqin LU Jiaming YAN | 2022 | Frontiers of Earth Science2022,16,1: | 0
