1An efficient sparse channel estimator combining time-domain LS and iterative shrinkage for OFDM systems with IQ-imbalances显示文摘A time-domain(TD) least square(LS) channel estimator is first proposed to estimate channel parameters of OFDM system with IQ imbalances at both transmitter and receiver.Then,an iterative shrinkage(IS) algorithm from compressed sensing is adopted to further improve the estimation performance by using the TD-LS solution as the initial value of IS in the case of sparse channel.Simulation shows that our algorithm combining TD-LS and IS performs better on bit error rate than the frequency-domain LS and matching pursuit in sparse Hilly Terrain channel when the same LS equalizer is adopted.SHU Feng ZHAO JunHui YOU XiaoHu WANG Mao CHEN Qian STEVAN Berber 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,11:10
2ML integer frequency offset estimation for OFDM systems with null subcarriers:Estimation range and pilot design显示文摘In this paper the estimation range(ERG) of any null subcarriers(NSC) placement is further investigated and sufficient and necessary conditions of an NSC allocation that achieves a full ERG are defined.Then,a perfect distributed NSC allocation with the NSC distance larger than coherent bandwidth is devised to fully exploit frequency diversity of wireless channels and achieve a full ERG.Simulations confirmed that the propsoed FFT-based ML method of using this NSC placement has a smaller bandwidth overhead,achieves a fuller ERG and provides a better performance than the existing methods of using the consecutive NSC allocation at middle and high signal-to-noise ratios(SNRs).SHU Feng BERBER Stevan WANG DongMing ZHANG QinChuan WANG Mao 2010Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,12:8

4Effect of early preoperative 5-fluorouracil on the integrity of colonic anastomoses in rats显示文摘AIM:To determine the effect of chemotherapy on wound healing by giving early preoperative 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)to rats with colonic anastomoses. METHODS:Sixty Albino-Wistar male rats(median weight,235 g)were used in this study.The rats were fed with standard laboratory food and given tap water ad libitum.The animals were divided into three groups: Group 1:Control group(chemotherapy was not administered),Group 2:Intraperitoneally(IP)administered 5-FU group(chemotherapy was administered IP to animals at a dose of 20 mg/kg daily during the 5 d preceeding surgery),Group 3:Intravenously(IV)administered 5-FU group.Chemotherapy was administered via the penil vein,using the same dosing scheme and duration as the second group.After a 3-d rest to minimize the side effects of chemotherapy,both groups underwent surgery.One centimeter of colon was resected 2 cm proximally from the peritoneal reflection,thensutured intermittently and subsequently end-to-end anastomosed.In each group,half the animals were given anaesthesia on the 3rd postoperative(PO)day and the other half on the 7th PO day,for in vivo analytic procedures.The abdominal incisions in the rats were dissected,all the new and old anastomotic segments were clearly seen and bursting pressures of each anastomotic segment,tissue hydroxyproline levels and DNA content were determined to assess the histologic tissue repair process. RESULTS:When the IV group was compared with the IP group,bursting pressures of the anastomotic segments on the 3rd and 7th PO days,were found to be significantly decreased,hydroxyproline levels at the anastomotic segment on the 7th PO day were significantly decreased(P<0.01). 5Laparoscopic liver resection for malignancy:A review of the literature显示文摘AIM: To review the published literature about laparoscopic liver resection for malignancy.METHODS: A PubMed search was performed for original published studies until June 2013 and original series containing at least 30 patients were reviewed.RESULTS: All forms of hepatic resections have been described ranging from simple wedge resections to extended right or left hepatectomies. The usual approach is pure laparoscopic, but hand-assisted, as well as robotic approaches have been described. Most studies showed comparable results to open resection in terms of operative blood loss, postoperative morbidity and mortality.Many of them showed decreased postoperative pain,shorter hospital stays, and even lower costs. Oncological results including resection margin status and long-term survival were not inferior to open resection. CONCLUSION: In the hands of experienced surgeons,laparoscopic liver resection for malignant lesions is safe and offers some short-term advantages over open resection.
