1Relationship between Temperaments of Medicinal Plants and Their Major Chemical Compounds显示文摘Objective: To determine any relationship between temperaments of medicinal plants referred to traditional Iranian manuscripts and their major chemical compounds. Methods: Plants used in traditional Iranian medicine were categorized based on their major chemical compounds including alkaloids, phenolic compounds, and essential oils. Their temperaments were extracted from traditional herbal pharmacopeias of Iran. The possible relationship between major chemical compounds and temperaments of each group were evaluated. Results: Plants containing phenolic compounds as their major constituents are hot and dry temperaments except those contain tannins with cold and dry temperaments. Plants containing essential oils have hot and dry temperaments except those whose major essential oils with alcoholic structure which have cold and dry temperaments. Alkaloid-containing plants have cold and dry or hot and dry temperaments based on their alkaloidal structures. 2Entropy squeezing and atomic inversion in the K-photon Jaynes–Cummings model in the presence of the Stark shift and a Kerr medium:A full nonlinear approach显示文摘The interaction between a two-level atom and a single-mode field in the k-photon Jaynes–Cummings model(JCM) in the presence of the Stark shift and a Kerr medium is studied. 4Experimental and numerical investigation of buckling in rectangular steel plates with groove-shaped cutouts显示文摘Steel plates are widely used in various structures, such as the deck and bodies of ships and bridges, and in the aerospace industry. In many instances, these plates are subjected to axial compression loads that predispose the sheets to instability and buckling. In this study, we investigate the buckling and post-buckling behaviors of steel plates having groove-shaped cutouts of various dimensions and angles using finite element method (FEM) (by ABAQUS software) and experimental tests (by an Instron servohydraulic machine). Boundary conditions were clamped by supports at upper and lower ends and free supports at the other edges. The results of both numerical and experimental analyses are compared, which show a very good agreement between them.
