1Properties of Functionalized Graphene/Room Temperature Vulcanized Silicone Rubber Composites Prepared by an In-situ Reduction Method显示文摘Functionalized graphene oxide (FGO) was prepared by treating graphene oxide with γ-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (KH-550) before the mixture was dispersed into α, ω-dihydroxy polydimethylsiloxane to get room temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone rubber composites by solution casting. The cured composites were then reduced with hydrazine hydrate to obtain functionalized graphene (FG)/RTV silicone rubber composites. The structures of FGO and the resultant composites were characterized by atomic force microscopy, FT-IR spectra and X-ray diffraction. KH-550 was found to be grafted onto graphene sheets, leading to an increased interlayer spacing. Significant improvements in thermal and mechanical properties were obtained. Both the FGO/RTV silicone rubber composite contain 1.0 wt% of FGO, and its reduced product showed an increase of one-step weight loss temperature with 61 ℃ and 133 ℃ higher than that of pure silicone rubber. 2Arabidopsis PWWP domain proteins mediate H_3K_(27) trimethylation on FLC and regulate flowering time显示文摘LHP_1 mediates recruitment of the PRC_2 histone methyltransferase complex to chromatin and thereby facilitates maintenance of H_3 K_(27)me_3 on FLC, a key flowering repressor gene. Here, we report that the PWWP domain proteins(PDPs) interact with FVE and MSI5 to suppress FLC expression and thereby promote flowering. We demonstrated that FVE, MSI_5, and PDP_3 were co-purified with LHP_1. The H_3K_(27)me_3 level on FLC was decreased in the pdp mutants as well as in the fve/msi_5 double mutant. 3Effect of Mesoscale Land Use Change on Characteristics of Convective Boundary Layer:Semi-Idealized Large Eddy Simulations over Northwest China显示文摘Although large-scale topography and land use have been properly considered in weather and climate models, the effect of mesoscale and microscale heterogeneous land use on convective boundary layer(CBL) has not been fully understood yet. In this study, the influence of semi-idealized strip-like patches of oases and deserts, which resemble irrigated land use in Northwest China, on the CBL characteristics, is investigated based on the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)-large eddy simulation(LES) driven by observed land surface data. The influences of soil water content in oases on aloft CBL flow structure, stability, turbulent kinetic energy(TKE), and vertical fluxes are carefully examined through a group of sensitivity experiments. The results show that secondary circulation(SC)/turbulent organized structures(TOS) is the strongest/weakest when soil water content in oases is close to saturation(e.g.,when the oases are irrigated). With the decrease of soil water content in oases(i.e., after irrigation), SC(TOS) becomes weak(strong) in the lower and middle CBL, the flux induced by SC and TOS becomes small(large), which has a dramatic impact on point measurement of eddy covariance(EC) fluxes. The flux induced by SC and TOS has little influence on EC sensible heat flux, but great influence on EC latent heat flux. Under this circumstance, the area averaged heat flux cannot be represented by point measurement of flux by the EC method, especially just after irrigation in oases. Comparison of imbalance ratio(i.e., contribution of SC and TOS to the total flux) reveals that increased soil moisture in oases leads to a larger imbalance ratio as well as enhanced surface heterogeneity. 5Factors Influencing Diurnal Variations of Cloud and Precipitation in the Yushu Area of the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Using the cloud radar,ground observations,and ECMWF Reanalysis v5(ERA5)data,we investigate the factors influencing nighttime precipitation during summer in the Yushu area of the Tibetan Plateau(TP).The cloud top height(CTH),cloud base height(CBH),and liquid water content(LWC)are compared between non-precipitation and precipitation days.The results show that the average CTH on precipitation days in Yushu is below 10 km above ground level(AGL)in the daytime,whereas it exceeds 10 km AGL at night,with the maximum at 2300 BT(Beijing Time).The CBH is in-phase with the dewpoint spread.The precipitation intensity and CTH are in-phase with the LWC.The hourly averaged precipitation intensity and convective available potential energy in ERA5 reach their maximums at2100 BT,which is 3 h ahead of their observed counterparts.There is descending motion in the mid day on non-precipitation days,whereas there is ascending motion at night on precipitation days.In addition,the horizontal wind direction in the lower level(below 5000 m)shows clockwise rotation from morning to night.Wind shear occurs in the mid level of the atmosphere,accompanied by a subtropical westerly jet in the upper level.The difference in horizontal wind speed between 200 and 500 hPa is positively related to the LWC,thereby contributing to the formation of upper-level cloud.Bangjun CAO Shihua LYU Yu ZHANG Xianyu YANG Boliang LI Liang YUAN Meilin LI 2022Journal of Meteorological Research2022,36,2:2

10Assessing the Performance of Separate Bias Kalman Filter in Correcting the Model Bias for Estimation of Soil Moisture Profiles显示文摘The performance of separate bias Kalman filter (SepKF) in correcting the model bias for the improvement of soil moisture profiles is evaluated by assimilating the near-surface soil moisture observations into a land surface model (LSM). First, an observing system simulation experiment (OSSE) is carried out, where the true soil moisture is known, two types of model bias (i.e., constant and sinusoidal) are specified, and the bias error covariance matrix is assumed to be proportional to the model forecast error covariance matrix with a ratio λ. Second, a real assimilation experiment is carried out with measurements at a site over Northwest China. In the OSSE, the soil moisture estimation with the SepKF is improved compared with ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) without the bias filter, because SepKF can properly correct the model bias, especially in the situation with a large model bias. However, the performance of SepKF becomes slightly worse if the constant model bias increases or temporal variability of the sinusoidal model bias becomes large. It is suggested that the ratio λ should be increased (decreased) in order to improve the soil moisture estimation if temporal variability of the sinusoidal model bias becomes high (low). 13Data-driven sensor placement for efficient thermal field reconstruction显示文摘Complete temperature field estimation from limited local measurements is widely desired in many industrial and scientific applications of thermal engineering. Since the sensor configuration dominates the reconstruction performance, some progress has been made in designing sensor placement methods. But these approaches remain to be improved in terms of both accuracy and efficiency due to the lack of comprehensive schemes and efficient optimization algorithms. In this work, we develop a datadriven sensor placement framework for thermal field reconstruction. Specifically, we first tailor the low-dimensional model from the prior thermal maps to represent the high-dimensional temperature distribution states by virtue of proper orthogonal decomposition technique. Then, on such subspace, a recursive greedy algorithm with determinant maximization as the objective function is developed to optimize the sensor placement configuration. Furthermore, we find that the same sensor configuration can be yielded faster by the standard procedures of column-pivoted QR factorization, which allows concise software implementation with readily available function packages. When the sensor locations are determined, we advocate using the databased closed-form estimator to minimize the reconstruction error. Real-time thermal monitoring on the multi-core processor is employed as the case to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods for thermal field reconstruction. Extensive evaluations are conducted on simulation or experimental datasets of three processors with different architectures.
