Parameter sensitivity and inversion analysis of a concrete faced rock-fill dam based on HS-BPNN algorithm显示文摘Considering the complex nonlinear relationship between the material parameters of a concrete faced rock-fill dam(CFRD) and its displacements, the harmony search(HS) algorithm is used to optimize the back propagation neural network(BPNN), and the HS-BPNN algorithm is formed and applied for the inversion analysis of the parameters of rock-fill materials. The sensitivity of the parameters in the Duncan and Chang's E-B model is analyzed using the orthogonal test design. The case study shows that the parameters φ0, K, Rf, and Kb are sensitive to the deformation of the rock-fill dam and the inversion analysis for these parameters is performed by the HS-BPNN algorithm. Compared with the traditional BPNN, the HS-BPNN algorithm exhibits the advantages of high convergence precision, fast convergence rate, and strong stability. | SUN PengMing BAO TengFei GU ChongShi JIANG Ming WANG Tian SHI ZhongWen | 2016 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2016,59,9: | 9
Abnormality monitoring model of cracks in concrete dams显示文摘The abnormality monitoring model (AMM) of cracks in concrete dams is established through integrating safety monitoring theories with abnormality diagnosis methods of cracks. In addition, emphasis is placed on the influence of crack depth on crack mouth opening displacement (CMOD). A linear hypothesis is proposed for the propagation process of cracks in concrete based on the fictitious crack model (FCM). Abnormality points are detected through testing methods of dynamical structure mutation and statistical model mutation. The solution of AMM is transformed into a global optimization problem, which is solved by the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method. Therefore, the AMM of cracks in concrete dams is established and solved completely. In the end of the paper, the proposed model is validated by a typical crack at the 105 m elevation of a concrete gravity arch dam. | BAO TengFei QIN Dong ZHOU XiWu WU GuiFen | 2011 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,7: | 9
A plastic damage model for concrete structure cracks with two damage variables显示文摘Based on the concepts of continuum damage theory,a new plastic damage model for concrete crack failure is developed through studying the basic damage mechanics. Two damage variables, tensile damage variable for tensile damage and shear damage variable for compressive damage, are adopted to represent the influence of microscopic damage on material macromechanics properties under tensile and compressive loadings. The yield criteria and flow rule determining the plasticity of concrete are established in the effective stress space, which is convenient to decouple the damage process from the plastic process and calibrate material parameters with experimental results.Meanwhile, the plastic part of the proposed model can be implemented by back-Euler implicit algorithm, and the damage part is explicit.Consequently, there exist robust algorithms for integrating the constitutive relations using finite element method.Comparison with several experimental results shows that the model is capable of simulating the nonlinear performance of concrete under multiaxial stress state and can be applied to practical concrete structures. | ZHENG FuGang WU ZhongRu GU ChongShi BAO TengFei HU Jiang | 2012 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,11: | 6
Observed displacement data-based identification method of deformation time-varying effect of high concrete dams显示文摘The long-term safety of high concrete dams has become the focus and central issues of public attention. Deformation is an actual comprehensive reflection of concrete dams. Especially the deformation time-varying effect, is a key index for evaluating the structural behavior, health status, and their evolution of a concrete dam in long-term service. In this paper, causing factors of the deformation time-varying effect of concrete dams were analyzed, and the time-varying effect was divided into two parts, which are the inherent time-varying effect and the time-varying effect caused by the change of dam structural performance. Then, based on the observed dam displacement and the wavelet multi-resolution analysis, causal models for identifying the later deformation time-varying effect and the identification process were proposed. Finally, the efficiency and rationality of the proposed method were verified by two actual concrete dams with runoff reservoir and regulatory reservoir. | WANG ShaoWei GU ChongShi BAO TengFei | 2018 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,6: | 4
Influence of fractality of fracture surfaces on stress and displacement fields at crack tips显示文摘In the classic theory of fracture mechanics, expressions for calculating the stresses and displacements in the vicinity of the crack tip are deduced on the basis of the assumption that a fracture surface is a smooth surface or that a crack is a smooth crack. In fact, the surface of a crack formed during the fracture is usually very irregular. So the real asymptotic form of the stress and displacement fields at the crack tip is different from the classic one.Considering the irregularity of a real fracture surface or a real crack profile, the crack is taken as a fractal one,and then the real asymptotic form at the crack tip is developed by applying Griffith's energy balance principle and fractal geometry.Through the developed asymptotic form,it is discovered that the fractality of the crack reduces the stress singularity at the crack tip. | BAO TengFei,WU ZhongRu,GU ChongShi & GU YanLing College of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering,Hohai University,Nanjing 210098,China | 2008 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,S2: | 3

Special Issue on Nano/Microscale Heat Transfer显示文摘Nanotechnology has led to a lasting revolution and is becoming increasingly more important in recent years, i.e., nano/microscale transistors, sensors, advanced materials, thermoelectrics, etc. At the nano/microscale, the characteristic length can be comparable to or even less than the mean free path and/or wavelength of heat carriers, exhibiting size effects. Moreover, due to the large surface-to-volume ratio, the surfaces and interfaces play significant roles in heat transfer. | 11 | Contrasting vertical distribution between prokaryotes and fungi in different water masses on the Ninety-East Ridge, Southern Indian Ocean显示文摘Although the microbial diversity of the Indian Ocean has been extensively investigated, little is known about the community composition of microbes in the Southern Indian Ocean. In the present study,we divided 60 water column samples on the Ninety-East Ridge(NER)into fi ve water masses according to the temperature-salinity curves. We presented, for the fi rst time,a full description of the microbial biodiversity on NER through high-throughput amplicon sequencing approach, including bacteria, archaea, and fungi. We found that bacteria exhibited higher richness and diversity than archaea and fungi across the water masses on NER.More importantly, each water mass on NER featured distinct prokaryotic microbial communities,as indicated by the results of non-metric multidimensional scaling. In contrast, fungi were eurybathic across the water masses.Redundancy analysis results demonstrated that environmental factors might play a pivotal role in the formation and stability of prokaryotic communities in each water mass, especially that of archaea. In addition, indicator species might be used as fi ngerprints to identify corresponding water masses on NER.These results provide new insights into the vertical distribution, structure, and diversity of microorganisms on NER from the perspective of water mass. | Shujun LI Zhisong CUI Mutai BAO Xiao LUAN Fei TENG Shujiang LI Tengfei XU Li ZHENG | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,2: | 0
