1聚合物包膜NPK复合肥料养分释放滞后期的研究显示文摘聚合物包膜肥料养分释放的滞后期是指不释放养分或释放量很少的时期,主要由水分进入过程和养分溶解过程组成,滞后期的长短受这两个过程控制;滞后期的主要影响因素为包膜厚度、养分溶解度、养分组成等。以此为理论基础,模拟了聚合物包膜肥料养分释放的滞后期,推导出聚合物包膜肥料滞后期的方程为:tlag=kr/3(l/PhΔP+1/Dφ),估算了聚亚安酯类物质包膜NPK复合肥料(Multicote)中K+、NO-3、NH+4释放的滞后期。4和H2PO-由于养分离子本身的溶解性质不同以及养分间的相互作用,不同的养分离子的滞后期存在明显差异,与试验结果一致。同时,该模型还表明,当包膜厚度较薄时,对滞后期起主导作用的是养分溶解过程,只有当包膜厚度足够大时,才会对滞后期起主导作用。该模型将对聚合物包膜肥料的研制和应用提供重要的理论指导。杜昌文 周健民 王火焰 Avi Shaviv 2005植物营养与肥料学报2005,11,2:14
2Role of antibiotics for treatment of inflammatory boweldisease显示文摘Inflammatory bowel disease is thought to be caused by an aberrant immune response to gut bacteria in a genetically susceptible host. The gut microbiota plays an important role in the pathogenesis and complications of the two main inflammatory bowel diseases: Crohn's disease(CD) and ulcerative colitis. Alterations in gut microbiota, and specifically reduced intestinal microbial diversity, have been found to be associated with chronic gut inflammation in these disorders. Specific bacterial pathogens, such as virulent Escherichia coli strains, Bacteroides spp, and Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis, have been linked to the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease. Antibiotics may influence the course of these diseases by decreasing concentrations of bacteria in the gut lumen and altering the composition of intestinal microbiota. Different antibiotics, including ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, the combination of both, rifaximin, and anti-tuberculous regimens have been evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. For the treatment of active luminal CD, antibiotics may have a modest effect in decreasing disease activity and achieving remission, and are more effective in patients with disease involving the colon. Rifamixin, a non absorbable rifamycin has shown promising results. Treatment of suppurative complications of CD such as abscesses and fistulas, includes drainage and antibiotic therapy, most often ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, or a combination of both. Antibiotics might also play a role in maintenance of remission and prevention of post operative recurrence of CD. Data is more sparse for ulcerative colitis, and mostly consists of small trials evaluating ciprofloxacin, metronidazole and rifaximin. Most trials did not show a benefit for the treatment of active ulcerative colitis with antibiotics, though 2 meta-analyses concluded that antibiotic therapy is associated with a modest improvement in clinical symptoms. Antibiotics show a clinical benefit when used for the treatment of pouchitis. The downsides of antibiotic treatment, especially with recurrent or prolonged courses such as used in inflammatory bowel disease, are significant side effects that often cause intolerance to treatment, Clostridium dificile infection, and increasing antibiotic resistance. 7Association of Streptococcus bovis presence in colonic content with advanced colonic lesion显示文摘AIM:To prospectively examine the association between presence of Streptococcus bovis(S.bovis)in colonic suction fluid and the endoscopic findings on colonoscopy.METHODS:From May 2012 to March 2013,203 consecutivepatients who underwent colonoscopy for any reason were enrolled in the study.Exclusion criteria included:antibiotic use in the previous month,age younger than18 years,and inadequate preparation for colonoscopy.The colonoscopy was performed for the total length of the colon or to the occluding tumor.The endoscopic findings were registered.Samples were obtained proximal to the colonoscopic part of the suction tube from each patient and sent to the clinical microbiology laboratory for isolation and identification of S.bovis.Samples were incubated in enrichment media with addition of antibiotic disks for inhibition of growth of Gram-negative rods.The samples were seeded on differential growth media;suspected positive colonies were isolated and identified with Gram staining,catalase,and pyrrolidonyl arylamidase tests,and further identified using a VITEK2 system.Statistical analyses were performed using the Student’s t andχ2 tests.RESULTS:Of the 203 patients recruited,49(24%)patients were found to be S.bovis carriers;of them,the endoscopic findings included:17(34.7%)cases with malignant tumors,11(22.4%)with large polyps,5(10.2%)with medium-sized polyps,6(12.2%)with small polyps,4(8.1%)with colitis,and 6(12.2%)normal colonoscopies.Of 154 patients found negative for S.bovis,the endoscopic findings included:none with malignant tumors,9(5.8%)cases with large polyps,11(7.1%)with medium-sized polyps,26(16.9%)with small polyps,7(4.5%)with colitis,and101(65.6%)normal colonoscopies.S.bovis(Grampositive coccus)is considered part of the normal intestinal flora.There is an association between S.bovis bacteremia and colonic neoplasia.It is not well understood whether the bacterium has a pathogenetic role in the development of neoplasia or constitutes an epiphenomenon of colorectal neoplasms.There was a clear relationship between positivity for S.bovis in colonic suction fluid and findings of malignant tumors and large polyps in the colon.CONCLUSION:There is an association between S.bovis bacteremia and malignant colonic lesions;this should prompt for development of a reliable screening method for advanced colonic lesions.Maya Paritsky Nina Pastukh Diana Brodsky Natalya Isakovich Avi Peretz 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,18:9

14Survival of encapsulated islets: More than a membrane story显示文摘At present, proven clinical treatments but no cures are available for diabetes, a global epidemic with a huge economic burden. Transplantation of islets ofLangerhans by their infusion into vascularized organs is an experimental clinical protocol, the first approach to attain cure. However, it is associated with lifelong use of immunosuppressants. To overcome the need for immunosuppression, islets are encapsulated and separated from the host immune system by a permselective membrane. The lead material for this application is alginate which was tested in many animal models and a few clinical trials. This review discusses all aspects related to the function of transplanted encapsulated islets such as the basic requirements from a permselective membrane(e.g., allowable hydrodynamic radii, implications of the thickness of the membrane and relative electrical charge). Another aspect involves adequate oxygen supply, which is essential for survival/performance of transplanted islets, especially when using large retrievable macrocapsules implanted in poorly oxygenated sites like the subcutis. Notably, islets can survive under low oxygen tension and are physiologically active at > 40 Torr. Surprisingly, when densely crowded, islets are fully functional under hyperoxic pressure of up to 500 Torr(> 300% of atmospheric oxygen tension). The review also addresses an additional category of requirements for optimal performance of transplanted islets, named auxiliary technologies. These include control of inflammation, apoptosis, angiogenesis, and the intra-capsular environment. 17High-Q ring resonators directly written in As2S3 chalcogenide glass films显示文摘Planar ring resonator waveguides are fabricated in thin films of As2S3 chalcogenide glass,deposited on silicaon-silicon substrates.Waveguide cores are directly written by scanning the focused illumination of a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser at a central wavelength of 810 nm,through a two-photon photo-darkening process.A large photoinduced index change of 0.3–0.4 refractive index units is obtained.The radius of the ring resonator is 1.9 mm,corresponding to a transmission free spectral range of 9.1 GHz.A high loaded(intrinsic) Q value of 110,000(180,000) is achieved.The thermal dependence of the resonator transfer function is characterized.The results provide the first report,to the best of our knowledge,of directly written high-Q ring resonators in chalcogenide glass films,and demonstrate the potential of this simple technique towards the fabrication of planar lightguide circuits in these materials.Shahar Levy Matvei Klebanov Avi Zadok 2015Photonics Research2015,3,3:3
18Accelerating CFD–DEM simulation of processes with wide particle size distributions显示文摘Size-reduction systems have been extensively used in industry for many years. Nevertheless, reliable engineering tools to be used to predict the comminution of particles are scarce. Computational fluid dynamics(CFD)–discrete element model(DEM) numerical simulation may be used to predict such a complex phenomenon and therefore establish a proper design and optimization model for comminution systems.They may also be used to predict attrition in systems where particle attrition is significant. Therefore,empirical comminution functions(which are applicable for any attrition/comminution process), such as:strength distribution, selection, equivalence, breakage, and fatigue, have been integrated into the threedimensional CFD–DEM simulation tool. The main drawback of such a design tool is the long computational time required owing to the large number of particles and the minute time-step required to maintain a steady solution while simulating the flow of particulate materials with very fine particles.The present study developed several methods to accelerate CFD–DEM simulations: reducing the number of operations carried out at the single-particle level, constructing a DEM grid detached from the CFD grid enabling a no binary search, generating a sub-grid within the DEM grid to enable a no binary search for fine particles, and increasing the computational time-step and eliminating the finest particles in the simulation while still tracking their contribution to the process.The total speedup of the simulation process without the elimination of the finest particles was a factor of about 17. 19Environmental friendly nitrogen fertilization显示文摘With the huge intensification of agriculture and the increasing awareness to human health and natural resources sustainability, there was a shift towards the development of environmental friendly N application approaches that support sustainable use of land and sustain food production.The effectiveness of such approaches depends on their ability to synchronize plant nitrogen demand with its supply and the ability to apply favored compositions and dosages of N-species.They are also influenced by farming scale and its sophistication, and include the following key concepts: (i) Improved application modes such as split or localized ('depot') application; (ii) use of bio-amendments like nitrification and urease inhibitors and combinations of (i) and (ii); (iii) use of controlled and slow release fertilizers; (iv) Fertigation-fertilization via irrigation systems including fully automated and controlled systems; and (v) precision fertilization in large scale farming systems. The paper describes the approaches and their action mechanisms and examines their agronomic and environmental significance. 20Polymeric nanocarriers for nose-to-brain drug delivery in neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders显示文摘Neurodegenerative diseases are progressive conditions that affect the neurons of the central nervous system(CNS)and result in their damage and death.Neurodevelopmental disorders include intellectual disability,autism spectrum disorder,and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and stem from the disruption of essential neurodevelopmental processes.The treatment of neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental conditions,together affecting~120 million people worldwide,is challenged by the blood—brain barrier(BBB)and the blood—cerebrospinal fluid barrier that prevent the crossing of drugs from the systemic circulation into the CNS.The nose-to-brain pathway that bypasses the BBB and increases the brain bioavailability of intranasally administered drugs is promising to improve the treatment of CNS conditions.This pathway is more efficient for nanoparticles than for solutions,hence,the research on intranasal nano-drug delivery systems has grown exponentially over the last decade.Polymeric nanoparticles have become key players in the field owing to the high design and synthetic flexibility.This review describes the challenges faced for the treatment of neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental conditions,the molecular and cellular features of the nasal mucosa and the contribution of intranasal nano-drug delivery to overcome them.Then,a comprehensive overview of polymeric nanocarriers investigated to increase drug bioavailability in the brain is introduced.Rania Awad Avi Avital Alejandro Sosnik 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,5:2
