| 1 | Intravesical bacillus Calmette-Guerin(BCG)in treating non-muscle invasive bladder cancer—analysis of adverse effects and effectiveness of two strains of BCG(Danish 1331 and Moscow-I)显示文摘Objective:To compare the differences in adverse effects and efficacy profile between bacillus Calmette-Guerin(BCG)Danish 1331 and BCG Moscow-I strain in management of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.Methods:Clinical data of 188 cases of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer treated with BCG between January 2008 and December 2018 in our institute were collected prospectively and analysed retrospectively,and 114 patients who completed a minimum of 12 months of follow-up were analysed.Patient and tumor characteristics,strain of BCG,adverse effects,and tumor progression were included for analysis.Intravesical BCG was instilled in intermediate-and high-risk patients.Six weeks of induction BCG,followed by three weekly maintenance BCG at 3,6,12,18,and 24 months was advised in high-risk patients.Results:Overall 68 patients received BCG Danish 1331 strain and 46 patients received Moscow-I strain.Patient and tumor characteristics were well balanced between the two groups.The median follow-up period was 42.5 months and 34.5 months in Danish 1331 and Moscow-I groups,respectively.Adverse events like dropout rate,antitubercular treatment requirement,and need of cystectomy were higher in Moscow-I group(n=31,67.4%)when compared to Danish 1331 strain(n=33,48.5%)(p=0.046).On direct comparison between Danish 1331 and Moscow-I strain,there was similar 3-year recurrence-free survival(80.0%vs.72.9%)and 3-year progression-free survival(96.5%vs.97.8%).Conclusion:Study results suggest no significant differences between Danish 1331 and Moscow-I strain in recurrence-free survival and progression-free survival,but a significantly higher incidence of moderate to severe adverse events in BCG Moscow-I strain. | Yuvaraja B.Thyavihally Preetham Dev Santosh Waigankar Abhinav Pednekar Nevitha Athikari Abhijit Raut Archan Khandekar Naresh Badlani Ashishkumar Asari | 2022 | Asian Journal of Urology2022，9，2： | 2 |

| 6 | Performance analysis of ASR system in hybrid DNN-HMM framework using a PWL euclidean activation function显示文摘Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR)is the process of mapping an acoustic speech signal into a human readable text format.Traditional systems exploit the Acoustic Component of ASR using the Gaussian Mixture Model-Hidden Markov Model(GMM-HMM)approach.Deep NeuralNetwork(DNN)opens up new possibilities to overcome the shortcomings of conventional statistical algorithms.Recent studies modeled the acoustic component of ASR system using DNN in the so called hybrid DNN-HMM approach.In the context of activation functions used to model the non-linearity in DNN,Rectified Linear Units(ReLU)and maxout units are mostly used in ASR systems.This paper concentrates on the acoustic component of a hybrid DNN-HMM system by proposing an efficient activation function for the DNN network.Inspired by previous works,euclidean norm activation function is proposed to model the non-linearity of the DNN network.Such non-linearity is shown to belong to the family of Piecewise Linear(PWL)functions having distinct features.These functions can capture deep hierarchical features of the pattern.The relevance of the proposal is examined in depth both theoretically and experimentally.The performance of the developed ASR system is evaluated in terms of Phone Error Rate(PER)using TIMIT database.Experimental results achieve a relative increase in performance by using the proposed function over conventional activation functions. | Anirban DUTTA Gudmalwar ASHISHKUMAR Ch V Rama RAO | 2021 | Frontiers of Computer Science2021，15，4： | 0 |
| 7 | Limited brain magnetic resonance imaging for evaluation of non-traumatic pediatric head emergencies显示文摘Limited brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) consisting of axial fluid attenuated inversion recovery, axial diffusion weighted imaging, coronal single shot fast spin echo(SSFSE) and sagittal SSFSE can be performed in under 5 min of scan time. This approach may provide more information than a non-contrast head computed tomography(CT) in non-traumatic pediatric head emergency, avoid ionizing radiation from CT scan and stratify patients who need more detailed brain MRI. | 8 | Latent tuberculosis infection in health-care workers in the government sector in Brunei Darussalam:A cross-sectional study显示文摘Objective:Health-care workers(HCWs)are known to be at high risk for occupational biological hazards,and this includes exposure to mycobacterium tuberculosis(TB)which can result in either active or latent TB infection(LTBI).This study aims to provide an overview of the incidence of LTBI among HCWs in Brunei Darussalam,to examine associated risk factors,and to evaluate LTBI treatment compliance.Materials and Methods:This is a retrospective cross-sectional study which was conducted using data from January 2018 to December 2021,on notified cases of LTBI in HCWs which identified 115 cases.Demographic data,underlying medical conditions,and compliance to treatment were assessed through reviews of their electronic health records.Results:The incidence of LBTI was 14.6/year/1000 HCWs.The incidence rate reached a high of 24.6/1000 in 2020,and majority of cases were in the older age groups.There was good treatment acceptance and compliance(82.6%),and this was observed to be significantly higher in females than males(P=0.02).Conclusion:This study showed an average incidence of LTBI of 14.6/1000 HCWs over 4 years and high LTBI treatment acceptance(82.6%)and compliance.Emphasis on infection prevention and control measures in health-care settings and actions to increase awareness of LTBI are crucial interventions toward reducing the burden of LTBI. | Nurin Jazmina Muhammad SYAFIQ Ashishkumar Akshaykumar TRIVEDI Alice LAI Maria Pureza Aurelio FONTELERA Mei Ann LIM | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Nursing2023，5，3： | 0 |
