3马蹄花叶提取物在雄性白化病小鼠体内的抗炎作用(英文)显示文摘AIM:To study the in vivo anti-inflammatory activity of Tabernaemontana divaricata leaf extract on male albino mice.METHODS:Aqueous decoction and methanol leaf extracts were tested for their ability to reduce croton oil-induced edema in the mouse ear after topical application.The methanol leaf extract dose-dependently inhibited the croton oil-induced ear edema in mice(ID50<500μg·cm 2).A bioassay-guided liquid–liquid fractionation of this methanol extract gave four active fractions:water insoluble(F1),hexane(F2),ethyl acetate(F3)and water(F4).RESULTS:The hexane fraction showed a very high activity(42.1%inhibition at0.7μg·cm 2)as compared to the control.The other fractions were less active(F1:56.1%at 506.2μg·cm-2;F3:57.3%at 289.3μg·cm 2;and F4:31.9%for 203.8μg·cm 2)while indomethacin gave 48.8%of inhibition at 90μg·cm 2.The activity of F1 and F3 may be at least in part explained by the presence of anti-inflammatory flavonoids,while the activity was not correlated to the tannin contents.No compounds were detected in the most active F2 fraction.CONCLUSIONS:The results give a rational support to the traditional use of T.divaricata in tropical India as anti-inflammatory agent.Sachin Jain Praveen Sharma Santosh Ghule Ankit Jain Nitesh Jain 2013中国天然药物2013,11,5:2
4Outcomes of kidney transplantation in patients with hepatitis B virus infection:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘AIM To assess outcomes of kidney transplantation including patient and allograft outcomes in recipients with hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection, and the trends of patient's outcomes overtime.METHODS A literature search was conducted using MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane Database from inception through October 2017. Studies that reported odds ratios(OR) of mortality or renal allograft failure after kidney transplantation in patients with HBV [defined as hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) positive] were included. The comparison group consisted of HBs Agnegative kidney transplant recipients. Effect estimates from the individual study were extracted and combined using random-effect, generic inverse variance method of Der Simonian and Laird. The protocol for this metaanalysis is registered with PROSPERO(International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews; no. CRD42017080657).RESULTS Ten observational studies with a total of 87623 kidney transplant patients were enrolled. Compared to HBs Ag-negative recipients, HBs Ag-positive status was significantly associated with increased risk of mortality after kidney transplantation(pooled OR = 2.48; 95%CI: 1.61-3.83). Meta-regression showed significant negative correlations between mortality risk after kidney transplantation in HBs Ag-positive recipients and year of study(slopes =-0.062, P = 0.001). HBs Agpositive status was also associated with increased risk of renal allograft failure with pooled OR of 1.46(95%CI: 1.08-1.96). There was also a significant negative correlation between year of study and risk of allograft failure(slopes =-0.018, P = 0.002). These associations existed in overall analysis as well as in limited cohort of hepatitis C virus-negative patients. We found no publication bias as assessed by the funnel plots and Egger's regression asymmetry test with P = 0.18 and 0.13 for the risks of mortality and allograft failure after kidney transplantation in HBs Ag-positive recipients, respectively.CONCLUSION Among kidney transplant patients, there are significant associations between HBs Ag-positive status and poor outcomes including mortality and allograft failure. 5Experimental study on mitigating wind erosion of calcareous desert sand using spray method for microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation显示文摘Wind erosion is one of the significant natural calamities worldwide, which degrades around one-third of global land. The eroded and suspended soil particles in the environment may cause health hazards, i.e.allergies and respiratory diseases, due to the presence of harmful contaminants, bacteria, and pollens.The present study evaluates the feasibility of microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation(MICP)technique to mitigate wind-induced erosion of calcareous desert sand(Thar desert of Rajasthan province in India). The temperature during biotreatment was kept at 36℃ to stimulate the average temperature of the Thar desert. The spray method was used for bioaugmentation of Sporosarcina(S.) pasteurii and further treatment using chemical solutions. The chemical solution of 0.25 pore volume was sprayed continuously up to 5 d, 10 d, 15 d, and 20 d, using two different concentration ratios of urea and calcium chloride dihydrate viz 2:1 and 1:1. The biotreated samples were subjected to erosion testing(in the wind tunnel) at different wind speeds of 10 m/s, 20 m/s, and 30 m/s. The unconfined compressive strength of the biocemented crust was measured using a pocket penetrometer. The variation in calcite precipitation and microstructure(including the presence of crystalline minerals) of untreated as well as biotreated sand samples were determined through calcimeter, scanning electron microscope(SEM), and energydispersive X-ray spectroscope(EDX). The results demonstrated that the erosion of untreated sand increases with an increase in wind speeds. When compared to untreated sand, a lower erosion was observed in all biocemented sand samples, irrespective of treatment condition and wind speed. It was observed that the sample treated with 1:1 cementation solution for up to 5 d, was found to effectively resist erosion at a wind speed of 10 m/s. Moreover, a significant erosion resistance was ascertained in15 d and 20 d treated samples at higher wind speeds. The calcite content percentage, thickness of crust,bulk density, and surface strength of biocemented sand were enhanced with the increase in treatment duration. The 1:1 concentration ratio of cementation solution was found effective in improving crust thickness and surface strength as compared to 2:1 concentration ratio of cementation solution. 7Risk factors of type 2 diabetes in population of Jammu and Kashmir, India显示文摘We sought to identify risk factors for type 2 diabetes(T2D)in Jammu and Kashmir populations,India.A total of 424 diabetic and 226 non-diabetic subjects from Jammu,and 161 diabetic and 100 non-diabetic subjects from Kashmir were screened for various parameters including fasting blood glucose level,2 hour glucose level,urea,creatinine,triglycerides,total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),very low-density lipoprotein(VLDL-C),uric acid,systolic and diastolic blood pressure level.We found that subjects aged 40-49 years had the highest rate of diabetes,with family income playing not much of a role.Kashmiri migrants or populations with rapid cultural,environmental,social or lifestyle change along with reduced physical activity,obesity and unhealthy lifestyle(smoking and alcohol consumption)were found to have higher rates of diabetes.High blood glucose,triglycerides and low HDL-C levels were found to be contributing to disease outcome.High blood pressure also contributed to a higher risk of developing T2D.Our study supports earlier reports confirming the contribution of comfortable life style,Western dietary habits and rapid life style change along with many other factors to the prevalence of diabetes.This may contribute to the epidemic proportion of diabetes in Jammu and Kashmir.Early diagnosis and routine screening for undiagnosed diabetes in obese subjects and subjects with parental diabetes history is expected to decrease the burden of chronic diabetic complications worldwide.Ankit Mahajan Swarkar Sharma Manoj K.Dhar Rameshwar N.K.Bamezai 2013The Journal of Biomedical Research2013,27,5:1
8Mix design,development,production and policies of recycled hot mix asphalt:A review显示文摘Worldwide,flexible pavements are the paramount type of pavements.These national assets can be recycled to serve the next design life without the need to dispose of them in landfill.The old/distressed,flexible pavement material is called,reclaimed asphalt pavement(RAP)material.In view of the sustainable development practice,100%RAP should be recycled.However,the practical range of RAP incorporation in a drum mix plant ranges from 10%to 50%whereas in a batch mix plant,it is 10%-35%.In a batch mix plant,incorporation of the hot dried RAP(instead of cold RAP feeding)can increase the RAP incorporation level by 20%.Studies recommended that the rejuvenator should be added over the RAP material instead adding with the base binder.The addition of rejuvenator on the RAP conveyor belt(to the pug mill),provided sufficient time for rejuvenating the aged binder coating over RAP aggregates.Further,a thorough knowledge of the mix design process of recycled hot mix asphalt(RAP-HMA)is essential to produce a durable mix.For high RAP content(>20%),the RAP binder properties are important for the mix design process.However,very limited studies discussed(in detail)the recovery process of the RAP binder.The review article through light on the binder recovery process,method of RAP gradation,specific gravity determination for RAP material,minimum desirable properties of the RAP material etc.This review paper also provides a narrative review of the historical development of RAP-HMA technology,technical aspects related to the procurement of RAP material,mix design and production of the recycled mix.Moreover,the international&national policies/laws for construction and demolition waste are discussed.Ankit Sharma Gondaimei Ransinchung Rongmei Naga Praveen Kumar Priti Rai 2022Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2022,9,5:1
9Delivery of Bull Dog Calf from a Hydroallantoic Murrah Buffalo显示文摘An 8 years old Murrah buffalo in its 5^(th) party was presented with the history of 9 month of gestation and sudden bilateral abdominal distension since last 25 days.Animal was 7 anorectic with pale mucus membrane and had staggering gait.Per vaginum examination revealed closed cervix with intact cervical seal.By transrectal palpation only the fluid in the uterus could be palpable.Based on history and clinical examination findings,it was diagnosed as hydroallantois.Parturition was induced using cloprostenol and dexamethasone.Beside this an intracervical injection of closprostenol was also given on 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock position(250μg each)of external os to hasten the cervical dilation.A dead bulldog calf was removed with manual traction after 26 hours of initial treatment.It was concluded that the cloprostenol and dexamethasone are effective for the induction of parturition in animals suffering from hydroallantois provided fluid from the allantoic sac is removed slowly.Ankit Ahuja Vasu Sharma Amit Sharma Rohit Mankotia Tyson Negi Pankaj Sood 2022Journal of Advances in International Veterinary Research2022,4,1:0
10Mucormycosis – resurgence of a deadly opportunist during COVID-19 pandemic: Four case reports显示文摘BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)patients who suffer severe infection or comorbidities have an increased risk of developing fungal infections.There is a possibility that such infections are missed or misdiagnosed,in which case patients may suffer higher morbidity and mortality.COVID-19 infection,aggressive management strategies and comorbidities like diabetes render patients prone to opportunistic fungal infections.Mucormycosis is one of the opportunistic fungal infections that may affect treated COVID patients.CASE SUMMARY We present a case series of four adult males who were diagnosed with mucormycosis post-COVID-19 recovery.All the patients had diabetes and a history of systemic corticosteroids for treatment of COVID-19.The mean duration between diagnosis of COVID-19 and development of symptoms of mucor was 15.5±14.5(7–30)d.All patients underwent debridement and were started on antifungal therapy.One patient was referred to a higher center for further management,but the others responded well to treatment and showed signs of improvement at the last follow-up.CONCLUSION Early diagnosis and management of mucormycosis with appropriate and aggressive antifungals and surgical debridement can improve survival.Shalini Upadhyay Tanisha Bharara Manisha Khandait Ankit Chawdhry Bharat Bhushan Sharma 2021World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,36:0
