| 2 | Non-cirrhotic hepatocellular carcinoma in chronic viral hepatitis: Current insights and advancements显示文摘Primary liver cancers carry significant morbidity and mortality.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)develops within the hepatic parenchyma and is the most common malignancy originating from the liver.Although 80%of HCCs develop within background cirrhosis,20%may arise in a non-cirrhotic milieu and are referred to non-cirrhotic-HCC(NCHCC).NCHCC is often diagnosed late due to lack of surveillance.In addition,the rising prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and diabetes mellitus have increased the risk of developing HCC on noncirrhotic patients.Viral infections such as chronic Hepatitis B and less often chronic hepatitis C with advance fibrosis are associated with NCHCC.NCHCC individuals may have Hepatitis B core antibodies and occult HBV infection,signifying the role of Hepatitis B infection in NCHCC.Given the effectiveness of current antiviral therapies,surgical techniques and locoregional treatment options,nowadays such patients have more options and potential for cure.However,these lesions need early identification with diagnostic models and multiple surveillance strategies to improve overall outcomes.Better understanding of the NCHCC risk factors,tumorigenesis,diagnostic tools and treatment options are critical to improving prognosis and overall outcomes on these patients.In this review,we aim to discuss NCHCC epidemiology,risk factors,and pathogenesis,and elaborate on NCHCC diagnosis and treatment strategies. | Abhilash Perisetti Hemant Goyal Rachana Yendala Ragesh B Thandassery Emmanouil Giorgakis | 2021 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,24: | 6 |
| 3 | Comparison of choroidal vessel thickness in children and adult eyes by enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography imaging显示文摘AIM: To evaluate choroidal thickness, medium choroidal vessel thickness(MCVT) and large choroidal vessel thickness(LCVT) in normal children and adult subjects.METHODS: Manual measurements of subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT), MCVT and LCVT at subfoveal and 750 μm nasal and temporal to fovea locations were completed on enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography(EDI-OCT) scans of normal children and adult subjects.RESULTS: Fifty adult and fifty-seven child subjects were included in the study(including 80 adult and 103 child eyes). Mean(±SD) SFCT of adult and children eyes in the study was 309.3±95.7 μm and 279.3±50.4 μm respectively. Despite mounting interest, most nephrology fellowship training programs do not offer formal training in renal ultrasonography and there is inertia among practicing nephrologists to adopt this skill as a practice-changing advancement. Lack of familiarity with the topic is considered a key reason for this inertia. Understanding of basic ultrasound physics, instrumentation, principles of optimal image acquisition and interpretation is critical for enhanced efficiency and patient safety while using this tool. | 8 | Irrigated pinto bean crop stress and yield assessment using ground based low altitude remote sensing technology显示文摘The pinto bean is one of widely consumed legume crop that constitutes over 42%of the U.S dry bean production.However,limited studies have been conducted in past to assess its quantitative and qualitative yield potentials.Emerging remote sensing technologies can help in such assessment.Therefore,this study evaluates the role of ground-based multispectral imagery derived vegetation indices(VIs)for irrigated the pinto bean stress and yield assessments.Studied were eight cultivars of the pinto bean grown under conventional and strip tillage treatments and irrigated at 52%and 100%of required evapotranspiration.Imagery data was acquired using a five-band multispectral imager at early,mid and late growth stages.Commonly used 25 broadband VIs were derived to capture crop stress traits and yield potential.Principal component analysis and Spearman’s rank correlation tests were conducted to identify key VIs and their correlation(rs)with abiotic stress at each growth stage.Transformed difference vegetation index,nonlinear vegetation index(NLI),modified NLI and infrared percentage vegetation index(IPVI)were consistent in accounting the stress response and crop yield at all growth stages(rs>0.60,coefficient of determination(R2):0.50–0.56,P<0.05).Ten other VIs significantly accounted for crop stress at early and late stages.Overall,identified key VIs may be helpful to growers for precise crop management decision making and breeders for crop stress response and yield assessments. | Rakesh Ranjan Abhilash KChandel Lav R.Khot Haitham YBahlol Jianfeng Zhou Rick ABoydston Phillip NMiklas | 2019 | Information Processing in Agriculture2019,6,4: | 3 |

| 10 | Sarcopenia in hepatocellular carcinoma:Current knowledge and future directions显示文摘Liver cancer is the second most occurring cancer worldwide and is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common(80%-90%)type among malignant liver cancers.Sarcopenia occurs very early in HCC and can predict and provide an opportunity to improve muscle health before engaging in the treatment options such as loco-regional,systemic,and transplant management.Multiple prognostic stating systems have been developed in HCC,such as Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer,Child-Pugh score and Albumin-Bilirubin grade.However,the evaluation of patients’performance status is a major limitation of these scoring systems.In this review,we aim to summarize the current knowledge and recent advances about the role of sarcopenia in cirrhosis in general,while focusing specifically on HCC.Additionally,the role of sarcopenia in predicting clinical outcomes and prognostication in HCC patients undergoing loco-regional therapies,liver resection,liver transplantation and systematic therapy has been discussed.A literature review was performed using databases PubMed/MEDLINE,EMBASE,Cochrane,Web of Science,and CINAHL on April 1,2021,to identify published reports on sarcopenia in HCC.Sarcopenia can independently predict HCC-related mortality especially in patients undergoing treatments such as loco-regional,surgical liver transplantation and systemic therapies.Basic research is focused on evaluating a balance of anabolic and catabolic pathways responsible for muscle health.Early clinical studies have shown promising results in methods to improve sarcopenia in HCC which can potentially increase prognosis in these patients.As sarcopenia occurs very early in HCC,it can predict and provide an opportunity to improve muscle health before engaging in the treatment options such as loco-regional,systemic,and transplant management.Further,sarcopenia measurement can obviate the confounding caused by the abdominal ascites in these patients.The use of sarcopenia can add to the existing scoring systems to better prognosticate the HCC. | Abhilash Perisetti Hemant Goyal Rachana Yendala Saurabh Chandan Benjamin Tharian Ragesh BabuThandassery | 2022 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2022,28,4: | 3 |
| 11 | Computational Study of Performance Characteristics for Truncated Conical Aerospike Nozzles显示文摘Aerospike nozzles are advanced rocket nozzles that can maintain its aerodynamic efficiency over a wide range of altitudes. It belongs to class of altitude compensating nozzles. A vehicle with an aerospike nozzle uses less fuel at low altitudes due to its altitude adaptability,where most missions have the greatest need for thrust. Aerospike nozzles are better suited to Single Stage to Orbit(SSTO) missions compared to conventional nozzles. In the current study, the flow through 20% and 40% aerospike nozzle is analyzed in detail using computational fluid dynamics technique. Steady state analysis with implicit formulation is carried out. Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations are solved with the Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model. The results are compared with experimental results from previous work. | 13 | 基于RAPD-PCR标记的印度亚麻品种遗传多样性和指纹图谱分析(英文)显示文摘栽培的亚麻(L.usitatissimum)通常为亚麻籽,以其油分和纤维而被认为是具有较高经济价值的作物之一。开发亚麻遗传资源并进一步进行遗传改良,须了解其遗传变异的范围和结构。位于坎普尔的C.S.农业科技大学种质管理单位保存有广泛收集而来的2772份栽培和野生亚麻资源。从中选出23份不同基因型栽培亚麻品种包括5份两用品种、4份种用品种、14份具有不同形态和经济特性的引进种用品种以及1份野生品系(L.grandiflorum),采用RAPD标记进行遗传多样性分析。20条随机引物共产生242条带,每条引物扩增带数为1~20条,平均为10.95条。所有基因型和位点的RAPD多态性比例为90.49%。DICE系数相似矩阵分析揭示其遗传相似性为0.63~0.97,平均相似系数为82%,说明这些亚麻品种(系)的遗传背景较窄。采用UPGMA法以及NTSYS-pc软件的SAHN聚类分析模型对遗传相似矩阵进行聚类分析,发现属于L.uitatisimums的所有栽培品种在X轴上可聚为一类,而L.grandiflorum野生种单独在Y轴上聚为一类。主成分分析结果表明,除了Shekha(r优良种用品种)和野生种L.grandiflorum广泛分布外,其他所有种用品种、两用品种和外来品种聚类很近。由于亚麻栽培品种的遗传关系相近,须对亚麻种质的各种基因型进行鉴定,以拓宽今后育种计划中的遗传基础。 | Prashant Shekhar Gupta Sangeeta Srivastava Manoj Kumar Srivastava Abhilash Gupta | 2010 | 广西农业科学2010,41,3: | 2 |

| 17 | Colorectal cancer screening use among insured adults: Is out-of-pocket cost a barrier to routine screening?显示文摘AIM To describe the characteristics of adults who needed to see a doctor in the past year but could not due to the extra cost and assess the impact of limited financial resources on the receipt of routine fecal occult blood test, sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy for colon cancer screening among insured patients. METHODS Data obtained from the 2012 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System included 215436 insured adults age 50-75 years. We computed frequencies, adjusted odds ratios(a ORs), and 95%CIs using SAS v9.3 software. RESULTS Nine percent of the study population needed to see a doctor in the past year but could not because of cost. The numbers were significantly higher among those aged 50-64(P < 0.0001), Non-Hispanic Whites(P < 0.0001), and those with a primary care physician(P < 0.0001) among other factors. Adjusting for possible confounders, a ORs for not seeing the doctor in the past year because of cost were: stool occult blood test within last year a OR = 0.88; 95%CI: 0.76-1.02, sigmoidoscopy within last year a OR = 0.72; 95%CI: 0.48-1.07, colonoscopy within the last year a OR = 0.91; 95%CI: 0.81-1.02. CONCLUSION We found that the limited financial resources within the past 12 mo were significantly associated with colorectal cancer(CRC) non-screening.
