Coordinated flight control of miniature fixed-wing UAV swarms: methods and experiments显示文摘In this paper,we present our recent advances in both theoretical methods and field experiments for the coordinated control of miniature fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)swarms. We propose a multi-layered group-based architecture, which is modularized,mission-oriented,and can implement large-scale swarms. To accomplish the desired coordinated formation flight,we present a novel distributed coordinated-control scheme comprising a consensus-based circling rendezvous,a coordinated path-following control for the leader UAVs,and a leader-follower coordinated control for the follower UAVs.The current framework embeds a formation pattern reconfiguration technique. Moreover,we discuss two security solutions(inter-UAV collision avoidance and obstacle avoidance)in the swarm flight problem. The effectiveness of the proposed coordinated control methods was demonstrated in field experiments by deploying up to 21 fixed-wing UAVs. | Xiangke WANG Lincheng SHEN Zhihong LIU Shulong ZHAO Yirui CONG Zhongkui LI Shengde JIA Hao CHEN Yangguan YU Yuan CHANG Yajing WANG | 2019 | Science China(Information Sciences)2019,62,11: | 21
H_∞ Consensus Control of Discrete-Time Multi-Agent Systems Under Network Imperfections and External Disturbance显示文摘This paper presents a distributed control protocol for consensus control of multi-agent systems(MASs) under external disturbances and network imperfections, including communication delay and random packet dropout. To comply with the discrete nature of networked systems, in contrast to most of the existing work for MASs under network imperfections, the agents are modeled by discrete-time dynamics. The communication network is considered to be undirected, its delay is considered to be time-varying but bounded, and its packet dropout is modeled by a Bernoulli distributed white sequence.Sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)for asymptotic mean-square consensus stability are derived under network imperfections without considering external disturbances.A desired disturbance attenuation level in the presence of both external disturbances and network imperfections is also provided.A simulation example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach in coping with network imperfection and disturbances. | Arezou Elahi Alireza Alfi Hamidreza Modares | 2019 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,3: | 12

Frequency control of future power systems: reviewing and evaluating challenges and new control methods显示文摘Integration of more renewable energy resources introduces a challenge in frequency control of future power systems. This paper reviews and evaluates the possible challenges and the new control methods of frequency in future power systems.Different types of loads and distributed energy resources(DERs) are reviewed.A model representation of a population of the water heater devices for the demand side frequency response is considered.A model representation of a population of battery energy storage system(BESS)-based DERs such as smart electric vehicles(EVs) charging, large-scale BESSs, and residential and non-residential BESSs, are highlighted. The simplified Great Britain power system and the 14-machine South-East Australian power system were used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new methods in controlling power system frequency following a disturbance. These new methods are effective in recovering the fallen frequency response and present a great potential in controlling the frequency in future power systems. | Zeyad Assi OBAID Liana M.CIPCIGAN Lahieb ABRAHIM Mazin T.MUHSSIN | 2019 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2019,7,1: | 8
Adaptive Fuzzy Dynamic Surface Control for a Class of Perturbed Nonlinear Time-varying Delay Systems with Unknown Dead-zone显示文摘In this paper, adaptive dynamic surface control(DSC) is developed for a class of nonlinear systems with unknown discrete and distributed time-varying delays and unknown dead-zone.Fuzzy logic systems are used to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions. Then,by combining the backstepping technique and the appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals with the dynamic surface control approach, the adaptive fuzzy tracking controller is designed. Our development is able to eliminate the problem of 'explosion of complexity' inherent in the existing backstepping-based methods. The main advantages of our approach include:1) for the n-th-order nonlinear systems, only one parameter needs to be adjusted online in the controller design procedure, which reduces the computation burden greatly. Moreover, the input of the dead-zone with only one adjusted parameter is much simpler than the ones in the existing results;2) the proposed control scheme does not need to know the time delays and their upper bounds. It is proven that the proposed design method is able to guarantee that all the signals in the closed-loop system are bounded and the tracking error is smaller than a prescribed error bound,Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. | Hong-Yun Yue Jun-Min Li Department of Applied Mathematics,Xidian University,Xi an 710071,China | 2012 | International Journal of Automation and computing2012,9,5: | 7
Distributed Control of Multiple-Bus Microgrid With Paralleled Distributed Generators显示文摘A microgrid is hard to control due to its reduced inertia and increased uncertainties. To overcome the challenges of microgrid control, advanced controllers need to be developed. In this paper, a distributed, two-level, communication-economic control scheme is presented for multiple-bus microgrids with each bus having multiple distributed generators(DGs) connected in parallel. The control objective of the upper level is to calculate the voltage references for one-bus subsystems. The objectives of the lower control level are to make the subsystems' bus voltages track the voltage references and to enhance load current sharing accuracy among the local DGs. Firstly, a distributed consensusbased power sharing algorithm is introduced to determine the power generations of the subsystems. Secondly, a discrete-time droop equation is used to adjust subsystem frequencies for voltage reference calculations. Finally, a Lyapunov-based decentralized control algorithm is designed for bus voltage regulation and proportional load current sharing. Extensive simulation studies with microgrid models of different levels of detail are performed to demonstrate the merits of the proposed control scheme. | Bo Fan Jiangkai Peng Jiajun Duan Qinmin Yang Wenxin Liu | 2019 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,3: | 4
A sensorless efficiency test system for a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor显示文摘We present a sensorless efficiency test system with energy recovery for a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM). In the system, two identical high-speed PMSMs are used as the motor under test(MUT)and the load machine(LM),respectively.A new sensorless vector control(VC) method based on a hypothetical reference frame is presented to control both the MUT and the LM.Also,a regenerating unit is used to implement energy circulation to save energy.Experiments were carried out on a prototype, with a digital controller based on the TMS320 F28335, to verify the adequacy of the sensorless VC method. As a result, the efficiency test system achieves the load test at the speed of 21000 r/min without any reduction equipment. During the test, the energy regenerated by the LM could be fed back to the MUT by the regenerating unit, and 81.31% electrical power was saved. In addition, with the proposed sensorless VC method, both the MUT and the LM can work at i_d = 0 without a position sensor. | Li JI Yixiang SHAO Sujie GAO | 2019 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2019,7,2: | 3
Leader-following consensus of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems subject to disturbances显示文摘In this study, we investigate the leader-following consensus problem of a class of heterogeneous secondorder nonlinear multi-agent systems subject to disturbances. In particular, the nonlinear systems contain uncertainties that can be linearly parameterized. We propose a class of novel distributed control laws, which depends on the relative state of the system and thus can be implemented even when no communication among agents exists. By Barbalat's lemma, we demonstrate that consensus of the second-order nonlinear multi-agent system can be achieved by the proposed distributed control law. The effectiveness of the main result is verified by its application to consensus control of a group of Van der Pol oscillators. | Mao-bin LU Lu LIU | 2019 | Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2019,20,1: | 3

A coordinated consistency voltage stability control method of active distribution grid显示文摘The presence of distributed generators(DGs)with high penetration poses new challenges in the management and operation of electrical grids.Due to the local character of DGs,they could in principle be used in emergency situations to prevent a voltage instability event of the grid.In this paper,a certain method is proposed to coordinate the operation of virtual power plant(VPP)and conventional voltage regulation device to improve the static voltage stability of distribution network with the multi-agent framework. The concept and the general framework of this coordinated control system is introduced, and the voltage instable nodes are determined based on the voltage instability indicator. The voltage coordinated control model of the distribution system is established according to the multi-agent consistency control theory and the coordinated controllers for agents are designed by solving a problem with bilinear matrix inequality constraints. The suggested method is implemented on an IEEE 33 nodes test system and the simulation results show its efficiency and validity. | Xi YE Jian LE Yongyan LIU Wu ZHOU Kaipei LIU | 2018 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2018,6,1: | 2

Iterative Learning Control for Distributed Parameter Systems Based on Non-Collocated Sensors and Actuators显示文摘In this paper, an open-loop PD-type iterative learning control(ILC) scheme is first proposed for two kinds of distributed parameter systems(DPSs) which are described by parabolic partial differential equations using non-collocated sensors and actuators. Then, a closed-loop PD-type ILC algorithm is extended to a class of distributed parameter systems with a non-collocated single sensor and m actuators when the initial states of the system exist some errors. Under some given assumptions, the convergence conditions of output errors for the systems can be obtained. Finally, one numerical example for a distributed parameter system with a single sensor and two actuators is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed ILC schemes. | Jianxiang Zhang Baotong Cui Xisheng Dai Zhengxian Jiang | 2020 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2020,7,3: | 2

Distributed Model Predictive Control for Networked Plant-wide Systems With Neighborhood Cooperation显示文摘For large-scale networked plant-wide systems composed by physically(or geographically) divided subsystems, only limited information is available for local controllers on account of region and communication restrictions. Concerning the optimal control problem of such subsystems, a neighbor-based distributed model predictive control(NDMPC) strategy is presented to improve the global system performance. In this scheme, the performance index of local subsystems and that of its neighbors are minimized together in the determination of the optimal control input, which makes the local control decision also beneficial to its neighboring subsystems and further contributes to improving the convergence and control performance of overall system. The stability of the closed-loop system is proved. Moreover, the parameter designing method for distributed synthesis is provided. Finally, the simulation results illustrate the main characteristics and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. | Ting Bai Shaoyuan Li Yi Zheng | 2019 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,1: | 1
Refrigerant Control Strategies for Residential Air-Conditioning and Heat-Pump System显示文摘This paper simulated the optimal refrigerant charge inventory of a refrigeration system in air-conditioning operation and heat-pump operation respectively, and studied the refrigerant control strategies in this system. The void fraction in two-phase fluid region was calculated by Harms model. And based on distributed parameter model and Harms model, the refrigerant charge inventory in condenser and evaporator were calculated and analyzed in air-conditioning conditions and heat-pump conditions, respectively. The calculating results of different refrigerant mass between refrigeration and heating conditions indicate that the optimal refrigerant charge inventory in heat-pump conditions is lower than that in air-conditioning conditions. To avoid the decrease of COP due to the surplus refrigerant in heating conditions,we introduced the liquid reservoir control method and associate capillary control method. Both of them could increase the heating capacity of the air-source heat pump. The difference of optimal refrigerant charge inventory in air-conditioning and heat-pump system can be controlled by the liquid reservoir or the associate capillary. | SU Shun-yu,ZHANG Chun-zhi,CHEN Jian(College of Urban Construction,Wuhan University of Science and Technology,Wuhan,Hubei 430070,China) | 2009 | 湖南大学学报(自然科学版)2009,36,S1: | 1
