| 1 | Physicochemical water quality parameters in typical rice-crayfish integrated systems(RCIS)in China显示文摘To determine the variation of water quality in rice-crayfish(Procambarus clarkii)integrated systems(RCIS)in China,eleven water quality parameters were measured monthly in a typical RCIS located in Qianjiang City(Hubei Province)from July 2014 to June 2015,the parameters were analyzed with principal component analysis(PCA)and compared between the trenches and rice areas during the rice fallow period(Nov-May).The trench and rice area comprehensive results showed that pH(7.48-8.68),NH_(4)^(+)-N(0.2-1.09 mg/L),NO_(2)^(-)-N(<0.052 mg/L)and conductivity(435-951μS/cm)were within the suitable ranges for P.clarkii and that turbidity(TU)was high during the crayfish harvesting and rice planting season.Annual averages of total nitrogen(TN),total phosphorus(TP),permanganate index(CODMn),and chlorophyll a(Chl.a)content were<2(except in Nov-Dec),0.25,10 mg/L,and 50 mg/m^(3)(especially in Nov-May,<10 mg/m^(3)),respectively.Dissolved oxygen(DO)was below 4 mg/L in Mar-Sep,with a minimum of~1 mg/L,and much higher in Oct-Feb.The maximum and minimum monthly average water temperature(WT)were 31.4°C in July and 5.7°C in December,while the maximum and minimum instantaneous WT were 39.7°C and 2.5°C,respectively.PCA analysis showed that the first three axes,which were mainly correlated with DO,WT and nutrient level,described most information of the parameters,and parameters showed seasonal changes.Some differences were observed in water parameters between the trenches and rice areas,i.e.,trenches generally had higher TU,WT and DO,and lower TN,TP and CODMn,although no significant differences were found in some months and some parameters.The study revealed relatively low water nutrient level,probable extreme WT and DO level in some seasons,and certain differences between the trenches and rice areas in typical CRIS in China.Accordingly,some measures should be taken to improve the negative parameters:1)enhance the water fertility;2)increase DO,especially in Mar-Sep;3)increase the trench and water depth to avoid extreme WT.And water quality management should be addressed in both trenches and rice areas. | Jixin Yu Yan Ren Tao Xu Wei Li Mantang Xiong Tanglin Zhang Zhongjie Li Jiashou Liu | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,3: | 6 |
| 2 | Soil fixation and erosion control by Haloxylon persicum roots in arid lands, Iran显示文摘Vegetation roots contribute to soil fixation and reinforcement, thus improving soil resistance against erosion. Generally, the amount of soil fixation presented by roots mainly depends on root density and tensile strength. In the present study, we conducted the research in order to further understand the biotechnical properties of Haloxylon persicum and also to quantify its role in increasing soil cohesion in arid lands of Iran. Ten H. persicum shrubs were randomly selected for root distribution and strength investigations, in which five samples were set on flat terrain and other five samples on a moderate slope terrain. The profile trench method was used to assess the root area ratio(RAR) as the index of root density and distribution. Two profiles were dug around each sample, up and downslope for sloped treatment and north and south sides for flat treatment. The results showed that RAR increased with increasing soil depth and significantly decreased in 40–50 cm layers of downhill(0.320%) and 50–60 cm for uphill(0.210%). The minimum values for the northward and southward profiles were 0.003% and 0.003%, respectively, while the maximum values were 0.260% and 0.040%, respectively. The relationship between the diameter of root samples and root tensile strength followed a negative power function, but tensile force increased with increasing root diameter following a positive power function. The pattern of increased cohesion changes in soil profile was relatively similar to RAR curves. The maximum increased cohesion due to the presence of roots in uphill and downhill sides were 0.470 and 1.400 kPa, respectively. In the flat treatment, the maximum increased cohesions were 0.570 and 0.610 kPa in northward and southward profiles, respectively. The analysis of variance showed that wind and slope induced stresses did not have any significant effect on the amount of increased cohesion of H. persicum. | 3 | Studies on the Surface Rupture Zone of 1303 Hongdong Earthquake of M =8 and Paleoearthquakes of Huoshan Fault in Shanxi Province显示文摘An earthquake of M=8 occurred in the Linfen Basin of the Shanxi graben system in 1303,producing a surface rupture zone about 45km long.Compiling a geological map at 1:10,000 and studying in detail the rupture zone,its dextral strike-slip displacement is determined to be 4-8.6 m,and normal dip-slip displacement up to 3.5-5 m.In this paper the geochronological evidence for the formation of the surface rupture zone is provided and the Huoshan fault is confirmed to be the seismogenic structure for the M=8 earthquake.Field trenching enables us to identify two paleoseismic events having occurred along the Huoshan fault since the middle Holocene before the M8 earthquake.A recurrence interval of these three events including 1303 Hongdong M 8 earthquake is determined to be up to 1500-2000 years.The result corresponds to the mean recurrence interval calculated from slip rate on the Huoshan fault during Holocene. | Deng Qidong and Xu XiweiInstitute of Geology,SSB,Beijing 100029,China | 1994 | Earthquake Research in China1994,8,2: | 4 |

| 6 | Geochemical characteristics of hadal sediment in the northern Yap Trench显示文摘Two sediment cores were retrieved in the hadal zone of the Yap Trench,and their concentrations of six major elements Mg,Al,Ca,Ti,Mn and Fe and nine trace elements Sr,Ba,Pb,V,Cr,Co,Ni,Cu and Zn were determined in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES).According to the vertical distribution profiles of the 15 elements,the correlation of their concentrations,the ratios of Ni/Co,V/Cr,Fe/Al,and Ti/Al,and morphological characteristics of the sediment samples,the implications of the depositional environment and the sediment provenance were analyzed.The results show that the ratio of Ni/Co in all depths of the two sediment cores were below 5,and the ratio of V/Cr were lower than 2,indicating that the depositional environment of the hadal zone in the trench was oxidative and might have inflow of the Antarctic bottom oxygen-rich water.The sediment samples on the eastern side of the trench were siliceous mud mainly composed of diatoms,radiolarian,and sponge needles from surface to deep layer.The vertical profile of the elements,the concentration of TOC and the fossil record indicated that the sediment sample from station Dive113 was well mixed from surface to bottom layer.Based on the correlation of concentrations of the elements,the morphological characteristics of the sediment,and the ratios of Fe/Al and Ti/Al,we inferred that the sediment in the hadal zone of the trench had terrestrial,volcanic,biological,and authigenic sources.Major source of the sediment in the eastern side of the trench were terrestrial;whereas the sediment in the western side of the trench received more volcaniclastic input. | HUANG Yuhuan SUN Chengjun YANG Guipeng YUE Xin’an JIANG Fenghua CAO Wei YIN Xiaofei GUO Chaonan NIU Jiaohong DING Haibing | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3: | 3 |

| 8 | Water characteristics of abyssal and hadal zones in the southern Yap Trench observed with the submersible Jiaolong显示文摘Using observations in an applied cruise of the submersible Jiaolong,water characteristics,geostrophic transport,and turbulent mixing in abyssal and hadal zones of the southern Yap Trench were studied.The spatial structures of deep water show that the abyssal water is cold,saline,and oxygen rich.The hadal water has very small changes in potential temperature and potential density,and a little decrease in salinity and obvious decrease in oxygen.The isotherm,isopycnal,and isohaline are depressed in abyss over the central trench.The turbulent mixing is enhanced in the near-bottom zone and the hadal water on the trench slope,especially at the steep slope,the dissipation rate and diffusivity is strong,which weakens the stratification.The geostrophic flows move southward in the western region of the trench and northward in the eastern region,indicating cyclonic circulation.In the central region of the trench,the water transport is^1.74 Sv southward.In the hadal zone,the northward and southward transports are balanced.Our analysis suggests that the abyssal water in the southern Yap Trench is from Lower Circumpolar Water(LCPW)and the hadal water seems to be of the isolated local water rather than LCPW. | LIU Xuehai LIU Yongzhi CAO Wei SUN Chengjun | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3: | 2 |
| 9 | A novel 4H-SiC trench MOSFET with double shielding structures and ultralow gate-drain charge显示文摘A new ultralow gate–drain charge(Q_(GD)) 4 H-SiC trench MOSFET is presented and its mechanism is investigated by simulation. The novel MOSFET features double shielding structures(DS-MOS): one is the grounded split gate(SG), the other is the P+shielding region(PSR). Both the SG and the PSR reduce the coupling effect between the gate and the drain, and transform the most part of the gate–drain capacitance(C_(GD)) into the gate–source capacitance(C_(GS)) and drain–source capacitance(C_(DS)) in series.Thus the C_(GD) is reduced and the proposed DS-MOS obtains ultralow Q_(GD). | 10 | Distribution characteristics of lipids in hadal sediment in the Yap Trench显示文摘In this study,cored sediment samples collected by the Jiaolong Submersible at 6779 m depth from the hadal zone of the Yap Trench in May 2016 were sliced in 1-cm interval from top to bottom,and lipids in each sediment layer were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed.The vertical distribution profiles of the lipids in the sediment sample,their main existing forms,and their possible sources were investigated.The results show that the concentration of lipid in the surface sediment was the highest with the carbon number from 12 to 27,dominated by medium and short-chain lipids.The total concentration of fatty acids in surface sediment was much higher than those in the offshore and deep-sea areas,being up to 325.77μg/g due to the funnel effect caused by the“V”terrain of the trench.Fatty acid 18:0 was the most abundant lipids in the sediment sample.Abnormal high concentrations of fatty acid 18:1ω7 and alkanes indicated the existence of hydrothermal fluids in the study area.In addition,saturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids existed mainly in free form,and polyunsaturated fatty acids existed mainly in bound form.Most of the alkanes were in bound form,and their major source was autochthounous input.The carbon number of alcohols in the sediment sample ranged from 12 to 20,mainly existed in bound form.The source of fatty acids was mainly autochthonous input,and the neutral lipids had both marine and terrestrial origin.This is the first study of lipids in hadal sediment of the Yap Trench.The results will promote deeper understanding of organic carbon cycle in marine environment. | YAN Yixin SUN Chengjun HUANG Yuhuan CAO Wei JIANG Fenghua YANG Guipeng DING Haibing | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3: | 2 |
| 11 | Composition and origin of lipid biomarkers in the surface sediments from the southern Challenger Deep, Mariana Trench显示文摘The surface sediments collected from the southern Mariana Trench at water depths between ca.4900 m and 7068 m were studied using lipid biomarker analyses to reveal the origin and distribution of organic matters. For all samples, an unresolved complex mixture(UCM) was present in the hydrocarbon fractions, wherein resistant component tricyclic terpanes were detected but C_(27)-C _(29) regular steranes and hopanes indicative of a higher molecular weight range of petroleum were almost absent.This biomarker distribution patterns suggested that the UCM and tricyclic terpanes may be introduced by contamination of diesel fuels or shipping activities and oil seepage elsewhere. The well-developed faults and strike-slip faults in the Mariana subduction zone may serve as passages for the petroleum hydrocarbons. In addition, the relative high contents of even n-alkanes and low Carbon Preference Indices indicated that the n-alkanes were mainly derived from bacteria or algae. For GDGTs, the predominance of GDGT-0 and crenarchaeol, together with low GDGT-0/Crenarchaeol ratios(ranging from0.86 to 1.64), suggests that the GDGTs in samples from the southern Mariana Trench were mainly derived from planktic Thaumarchaeota. However, the high GDGT-0/crenarchaeol ratio(10.5) in sample BC07 suggests that the GDGTs probably were introduced by methanogens in a more anoxic environment. Furthermore, the n-alkanes C_(19)-C_(22) and the n-fatty acids C_(20:0)-C_(22:0) were depleted in^(13)C by 3‰ compared to n-alkanes C_(16)-C_(18) and the n-fatty acids C_(14:0)-C_(18:0), respectively, which was interpreted to result from the preferential reaction of fatty acid fragments with carbon 'lighter' terminal carboxyl groups during carbon chain elongation from the precursors to products. The abundance of total alkanes, carboxylic acids, alcohols and total lipids were generally increased along the down-going seaward plate, suggesting the lateral organic matter inputs play an important role in organic matter accumulation in hadal trenches. The extremely high contents of biomarkers in sample BC11 were most likely related to trench topography and current dynamics, since the lower steepness caused by graben texture and proximity to the trench axis may result in higher sedimentation rate. | 12 | Parylene-MEMS technique-based flexible electronics显示文摘This paper reports a novel fabrication strategy for flexible electronics based on the paryleneMEMS(micro-electromechanical system) technique. A set of parylene-filled trenches is used to mechanically connect silicon-based functional units and realize a flexible 4×6 temperature controlling array as a preliminary demonstration. The trench-filling performance of the parylene deposition is carefully studied, and an optimized process is established to minimize the keyhole inside the parylene-filled trench. The effect of trench width on the flexibility and bendability of the prepared flexible electronics devices is analyzed by finite element modeling. Performances of the thermal/electrical isolation and the mechanical connection of the prepared parylene-filled trenches have been tested. The experimental results indicate that the highest thermal isolation efficiency is approximately 72.5% with the 10 paralleled, 7 μm wide and 50 μm deep parylene-filled trenches. The leakage current of the 10 paralleled, 5 μm wide and 100 μm deep parylene-filled trenches is less than 2 p A under a voltage of 100 V. Besides, these parylene-filled trenches acting as the flexible linkage of connected silicon-based functional units exhibit high connection performance without rupture when the loading pressure is under 200 k Pa. | 15 | 3D analysis of in-filled trench as passive barriers for ground vibration isolation显示文摘The three-dimensional (3D) problem of the ground vibration isolation by an in-filled trench as a passive barrier is studied theoretically. Integral equations governing Rayleigh wave scattering are derived based on the Green’s solution of Lamb prob-lem. The integral equations are solved accurately and efficiently with an iteration technique. They are used to evaluate the complicated Rayleigh wave field gener-ated by irregular scatterers embedded in an elastic half-space solid. The passive isolation effectiveness of ground vibration by the in-filled trench for screening Rayleigh wave is further studied in detail. Effects of relevant parameters on the effectiveness of vibration isolation are investigated and presented. The results show that a trench filled with stiff backfill material gets a better isolation effect than a soft one, and increasing the depth or width of the in-filled trench also improves its screening effectiveness. | 16 | Effect of Different Trench Lips on Downstream Film Cooling Effectiveness and Flow Fields显示文摘In the present study, the trenched configurations, including traditional trench(TT), fillet trench(FT) and varying-radius trench(VRT), are numerically investigated at different conditions in terms of downstream cooling effectiveness and flow fields. Different trench width and fillet radii are discussed at different blowing ratios and density ratios. Results show that the downstream lips mainly change the downstream pressure distributions and then change the lateral coolant distribution. The downstream fillet can reduce the penetration of coolant and improve laterally averaged effectiveness in the configurations with the narrow trench at modest blowing ratios. The enhancement of cooling effectiveness near the centerline plane is the positive effect of downstream fillet. This enhancement becomes more obvious with the increase of fillet radius, except for high blowing ratio. The fillet lip, compared with TT cases, also leads to a decline of coolant lateral spread for configurations with the wide trench and large radius, and more decline in the lateral direction deteriorates downstream overall cooling performance. Besides, the increase of density ratio contributes to a higher cooling effectiveness for fillet trench configurations. | 19 | Vertical variations of dissolved carbohydrates in the North Yap Trench显示文摘The concentrations of dissolved monosaccharides(MCHO),polysaccharides(PCHO),and total carbohydrates(TCHO)in the seawater samples collected from the north of the Yap Trench in the western Pacific Ocean were measured by 2,4,6-tripyridine-s-triazine(TPTZ)spectrophotometry method.The results show that the concentrations of MCHO,PCHO,and TCHO ranged from 4.6 to 22.1μmol C/L,3.5 to 27.3μmol C/L,and 13.8 to 36.3μmol C/L,respectively.In different sampling stations,the concentrations of MCHO,PCHO,and TCHO with water depth showed complex variation patterns.In the study area,the maximum concentrations of MCHO,PCHO,and TCHO occurred in the euphotic layer and the minimum concentrations occurred in mesopelagic seawater layer.Generally,the concentrations of MCHO,PCHO,and TCHO decreased with water depth from the euphotic layer to the hadal zone.The average value of PCHO/TCHO was higher than the average value of MCHO/TCHO,indicating that PCHO was the main component of TCHO in north of the Yap Trench. | GUO Chaonan SUN Chengjun YANG Guipeng ZHANG Honghai CHEN Yan YIN Xiaofei JIANG Fenghua HUANG Yuhuan NIU Jiaohong DING Haibing | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,3: | 1 |
