| 1 | Non-linear buffeting response analysis of long-span suspension bridges with central buckle显示文摘The rigid central buckle employed in the Runyang Suspension Bridge (RSB) was the first time it was used in a suspension bridge in China. By using a spectral representation method and FFT technique combined with measured data,a 3D fluctuating wind field considering the tower wind effect is simulated. A novel FE model for buffeting analysis is then presented,in which a specific user-defined Matrix27 element in ANSYS is employed to simulate the aeroelastic forces and its stiffness or damping matrices are parameterized by wind velocity and vibration frequency. A nonlinear time history analysis is carried out to study the influence of the rigid central buckle on the wind-induced buffeting response of a long-span suspension bridge. | 2 | A PIF7-CONST ANS-Centered Molecular Regulatory Network Underlying Shade-Accelerated Flowering显示文摘To compete with their neighbors for light and escape shaded environments,sun-loving plants have devel-oped the shade-avoidance syndrome(SAS),a set of responses including alteration of plant architecture and initiation of early flowering and seed set.Previous studies on SAS mainly focused on dissecting molec-ular basis of hypocotyl elongation in seedlings under shade light;however,the molecular mechanisms underlying shade-accelerated flowering in adult plants remain unknown.In this study,we found that CONSTANS(CO)and PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR 7(PIF7)have an additive effect on shade-induced flowering,but that LONG HYPOCOTYL IN FAR-RED1(HFR1)represses early flowering by binding to CO and PIF7 and preventing the binding of CO to the promoter of FLOWERING LOCUS T(FT)and the binding of PIF7 to the promoter of pri-MIR156E/F.Under shade,de-phosphorylated PIF7 and accumulated CO,balanced by HFR1,upregulate the expression of FT,TSF,SOC1,and SPLs to accelerate flowering.Moreover,we found that the function of PIF7 in flowering time is independent of phyA.Collectively,these regulatory interactions establish a crucial link between the light signal and genetic network that regulates flowering transition under shade. | Renshan Zhang Chuanwei Yang Yupei Jiang Lin Li | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,12: | 5 |
| 3 | Visual-spatial neglect after right-hemisphere stroke:behavioral and electrophysiological evidence显示文摘Background:Visual-spatial neglect (VSN) is a neuropsychological syndrome,and right-hemisphere stroke is the most common cause.The pathogenetic mechanism of VSN remains unclear.This study aimed to investigate the behavioral and event-related potential (ERP) changes in patients with or without VSN after right-hemisphere stroke.Methods:Eleven patients with VSN with right-hemisphere stroke (VSN group) and 11 patients with non-VSN with righthemisphere stroke (non-VSN group) were recruited along with one control group of 11 age- and gender-matched healthy participants.The visual-spatial function was evaluated using behavioral tests,and ERP examinations were performed.Results:The response times in the VSN and non-VSN groups were both prolonged compared with those of normal controls (P<0.001).In response to either valid or invalid cues in the left side,the accuracy in the VSN group was lower than that in the non-VSN group (P<0.001),and the accuracy in the non-VSN group was lower than that in controls (P<0.05).The P1 latency in the VSN group was significantly longer than that in the control group (F[2,30]= 5.494,P = 0.009),and the N1 amplitude in the VSN group was significantly lower than that in the control group (F[2,30]= 4.343,P = 0.022).When responding to right targets,the lefthemisphere P300 amplitude in the VSN group was significantly lower than that in the control group (F[2,30]= 4.255,P = 0.025).With either left or right stimuli,the bilateral-hemisphere P300 latencies in the VSN and non-VSN groups were both significantly prolonged (all P<0.05),while the P300 latency did not differ significantly between the VSN and non-VSN groups (all P > 0.05).Conclusions:Visual-spatial attention function is impaired after right-hemisphere stroke,and clinicians should be aware of the subclinical VSN.Our findings provide neuroelectrophysiological evidence for the lateralization of VSN. | Lin-Lin Ye Lei Cao Huan-Xin Xie Gui-Xiang Shan Yan-Ming Zhang Wei-Qun Song | 2019 | Chinese Medical Journal2019,,9: | 4 |
| 4 | Efficient structural seismic performance evaluation method using improved endurance time analysis显示文摘Evaluation of structural performance under seismic excitations from low intensity to high intensity is essential to verify the seismic resistant capacity of a structure, and usually carried out by the incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) method or pushover method. The recently developed endurance time (ET) method is another method that uses dynamic pushover excitations, i.e., endurance time acceleration function, to obtain results similar to those obtained by IDA or pushover methods with low computational cost and acceptable accuracy. This study proposes an improvement on the ET method by considering more restrictions for both the elastic and inelastic response spectra in the generation procedure, and by specifying a target duration. Four reinforced concrete frame structures with 4, 8, 12, and 16 stories are adopted to verify the accuracy of the improved method. Comparison of the results obtained by the proposed method, the ET method and the IDA method shows that the improved method has a higher accuracy than the ET method. | 5 | Factors Influencing the Emergency Medical Service Response Time for Cardiovascular Disease in Guangzhou, China显示文摘While emergency medical service (EMS) response time (ERT) is a major factor associated with the survival of patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD), relatively few studies have explored the factors associated with ERT. This study aimed to assess the current status of ERT and to identify the factors affecting ERT in patients with CVD in China. Between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2015, EMS responses to CVD incidents in Guangzhou, China, were examined. The primary outcome was ERT, defined as the time from receipt of an emergency call to the arrival of paramedics on the scene. Factors associated with ERT were evaluated by multivariable logistic regression. A total of 44 383 CVD incidents were analysed. The median ERT was 12.58 min (interquartile range=9.98-15.67). Among the risk factors, distance (OR=13.73, 95% CI=11.76- 16.04), level of hospital (OR=1.57, 95% CI=1.40-1.75), and site of the incident (OR=1.53, 95% CI=1.38-1.69) were the top three significant factors affecting the ERT. Our results suggest that greater attention should be given to factors affecting the ERT. | 7 | Improved dielectric and electro-optical parameters of nematic liquid crystal doped with magnetic nanoparticles显示文摘This study investigates the effect of magnetic nanoparticles(NPs) on the weakly polar nematic liquid crystal(NLC).Different parameters of dielectric data were measured for both the homeotropic and planar aligned samples as a function of frequency and temperature and the substantial changes have been noticed for the doped systems. Dielectric permittivity has been increased after the dispersion of magnetic NPs in the pure NLC. Dielectric anisotropy has also been influenced by incorporating the magnetic NPs with the NLC molecules. These results were attributed to the dipole–dipole interaction between the magnetic nanoparticles and nematic liquid crystal molecules. Electro-optical study indicated the faster rise time and fall time of the doped systems as compare to pure NLC. Threshold voltage has been calculated and found to be decreased for the doped systems. Moreover, we have also calculated the rotational viscosity and the splay elastic constant for pure and the doped systems. Both the rotational viscosity and splay elastic constant of the doped systems are found to be considerably lower than those of pure NLC. Change in these properties has been explained on the basis of molecular disturbances created by the interaction between the magnetic nanoparticle and LC director. The PDs exhibited a high photosensitivity(5 103) for 365 nm UV light with a fast recovery time(0.2 s) at a reverse bias voltage of 2 V. The light induced modulation of Schottky barrier and MNW–MNW junction barrier was employed to account for the results. It was also observed that the PD had a high on–off ratio of 800 without external bias. For an actual instance, a large scale airflow circulatory resistance furnace control system with cascades of time delays is developed. In the system, the optimum PID control is used in the inner loop. A nonlinear PI compensation control is applied in the outer loop. The coordinating control among each output is realized by a fuzzy control strategy. | 11 | Testing and Modeling of the Dynamic Response Characteristics of Pulsating Heat Pipes during the Start-up Process显示文摘Pulsating heat pipes(PHPs) are two-phase heat transfer heat pipes with high heat transfer capability and simple structure. Heating power is an important factor that affects the start-up response characteristics of PHPs. The operational characteristics during the start-up and stable operating stages were studied through experiments, and the corresponding dynamic response model under a specified heating power was established based on experimental data and flow pattern in the tube. The starting time, starting temperature, and dynamic response characteristic parameters at a certain heating power were calculated by the dynamic response model. The response characteristics of working fluid during the stable operation of PHPs were deduced based on the dynamic response curve of PHPs during the non-operational and stable operation stages. The response characteristics of PHPs for the step effect(given heating power) were quantitatively described by amplification factor K and time constant τ, thereby presenting the basis for the study on heat and mass transfer mechanisms of PHPs from non-operational to steady operation stage. Results showed that the minimum thermal resistance and the minimum time constant of the PHP are approximately 0.28 °C/W and 75, respectively, obtained at a heating power of 160 W. Moreover, these results indicated that the dynamic response of PHPs demonstrates a favourable performance and rapidly reaches another stable working state when their heat transfer performance is stable. | 12 | Dynamic Performance Investigation of A Spar-Type Floating Wind Turbine Under Different Sea Conditions显示文摘Both numerical calculation and model test are important techniques to study and forecast the dynamic responses of the floating offshore wind turbine(FOWT). However, both the methods have their own limitations at present. In this study, the dynamic responses of a 5 MW OC3 spar-type floating wind turbine designed for a water depth of 200 m are numerically investigated and validated by a 1:50 scaled model test. Moreover, the discrepancies between the numerical calculations and model tests are obtained and discussed. According to the discussions, it is found that the surge and pitch are coupled with the mooring tensions, but the heave is independent of them. Surge and pitch are mainly induced by wave under wind wave conditions. Wind and current will induce the low-frequency average responses, while wave will induce the fluctuation ranges of the responses. Constructive solid geometry cylindrical primitive is taken as work piece and modeling is accomplished for it. Response surface methodology is used to design the experiments and obtain statistical models for build time requirements corresponding to different orientations of the given primitive in modeller build volume. Contour width, air gap, slice height, raster width, raster angle and angle of orientation are treated as process parameters. Percentage contribution of individual process parameter is found to change for build time corresponding to different spatial orientations. Also, the average of build time requirement changes with spatial orientation. This paper attempts to clearly discuss and describe the observations with an aim to develop a clear understanding of effect of spatial variations on the build time for Fused Deposition Modelling process. This study evaluates equilibriuzn conditions using evidence from EOF (empirical orthogonal function) analysis of the coased profile data (bed slopes and associated elevations) obtained from Poole and Christchurch Bays, southem England. The preliminary results show tha the larges eigenvalue is much greater than the other eigenvalues and the temporally-related eigenfunction is staionary;thes observation implies the existence of wilibrium. Further, the spatially-related eigenfunction associated with the largest eigenvalue is used to calculate the actual beach profile at equilibrium. Although the temporal eigenfopction may nuctuate, it recovers rapidly, indicating tha the response time is short. One of the methods is the superposition method of the vibration mode based on fluid slosh in container. Another one is the joining method of the MAC results with the shallow wave theory calculation in time domain. As a practical example, it is conducted to the numerical calculation about 1000 ton TNT equivalent explosion within touch of water surface. The results show that it can be rationally described with the methods to the wavemaking progress and character. The numerical results are identical with the observed scene on the spot experiment.
