1Photon energy response optimization using few-channel spectroscopy dose method for Si-PIN photodetector applied in personal dose equivalent measurements显示文摘Si-PIN photodetectors having features such as low cost,small size,low weight,low voltage,and low power consumption are widely used as radiation detectors in electronic personal dosimeters(EPDs).The technical parameters of EPDs based on the Si-PIN photodetectors include photon energy response(PER),angular response,inherent error,and dose rate linearity.Among them,PER is a key parameter for evaluation of EPD measurement accuracy.At present,owing to the limitations of volume,power consumption,and EPD cost,the PER is usually corrected by a combination of single-channel counting techniques and filtering material methods.However,the above-mentioned methods have problems such as poor PER and low measurement accuracy.To solve such problems,in this study,a 1024-channel spectrometry system using a Si-PIN photodetector was developed and fullspectrum measurement in the reference radiation fields was conducted for radiation protection.The measurement results using the few-channel spectroscopy dose method showed that the PER could be controlled within±14%and±2%under the conditions of two and three energy intervals,respectively,with different channel numbers.The PER measured at 0°angle of radiation incidence meets the-29%to+67%requirements of IEC 61526:2010.Meanwhile,the channel number and counts-to-dose conversion factors formed in the experiment can be integrated into an EPD.Ping Huang Shu-Qiong Li Run-Dong Yang Yun-Tian Sun Yong Yang Wu Gao 2020Nuclear Science and Techniques2020,31,4:1
2Three horizontal muscle surgery for large-angle esotropia: success rate and dose-effect ratio显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the moderate-term success and calculate the mean dose-effect ratio in large-angle esotropic patients who underwent three muscle surgery.METHODS: In a retrospective study, we reviewed the medical records of 37 patients with large-angle esotropia who underwent bilateral medial rectus recession and one lateral rectus resection. Sex, age at surgery time, amount of recessed or resected muscles in millimeter(mm), preand postoperative alignment in prism diopter(D), dose/response ratio, and presence of amblyopia and other associated vertical deviations were recorded.RESULTS: The mean age of subjects at surgery was 12.2±12.3 y(range: 1-57). The mean preoperative deviation of 70.4±8.1 D(range: 60-85 D) decreased to a mean of 5.4±8.1 D(range: 0-30 D) postoperatively(P<0.005). Successful alignment was achieved in 30 of 37 patients(81%) at a mean follow-up of 15.7±20.1 mo(range: 3-90). The mean amount of recession and resection was 17.59±1.29 mm, and a mean dose-response ratio of 3.79±81(range: 2.83-4.66) was determined.CONCLUSION: Three-muscle surgery for large-angle esotropia results in good moderate-term outcomes without high rates of overcorrection or undercorrection.Reza Nabie Vahideh Manouchehri Saba Salehpour Banafsheh Kharrazi Ghadim Erfan Bahramani 2020International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020,13,4:1
3Temperature-induced hormesis in plants显示文摘Environmental change attracts particular attention by biologists concerned with the performance of biological systems under stress. To investigate these, dose–response relationships should be clarified. It was previously assumed that the fundamental nature of biological dose–responses follows a linear model, either with no threshold or with a threshold below which no effects are expected to occur in biological endpoints. However, substantial literature, including widespread documentation in plants, has revealed that hormesis commonly occurs. Hormesis is highly generalized and can be utilized as a quantitative measure of biological plasticity. Conditioning induced by adaptive responses also occurs in the framework of hormesis and is of particular importance to environmental change biology with regards to evolutionary adaptations.This paper presents additional evidence for hormetic dose responses induced by temperature in plants. The current understanding on hormesis provides a perspective for next generation environmental change research.
