1CATHODIC PROCESS AND WEAR RESISTANCE OF ELECTRO-DEPOSITED RE-Ni-W-P-SiC COMPOSITE COATING显示文摘Cathodic deposition current density of the composite coatings increases when SiC par-ticles and rare earth (RE) were added in the bath, which is profitable for Ni- W-P alloyto deposit in the cathod, forming Ni-W-P-SiC and RE-Ni-W-P-SiC composite coat-ings. On the contrary, the addition of PTFE in the bath decreases cathodic depositioncurrent density of the coatings. The current density increases a little when the amountof RE is 7-9g/l; however, the current density increases greatly when the amount ofRE is increased to 11-13g/l. But if the amount of RE is raised further, the currentdensity decreases. Hardness and wear resistance of RE-Ni-W-P-SiC composite coat-ing have been studied, and the results show that the hardness and wear resistance ofRE-Ni-W-P-SiC composite coating increase with increasing heat treatment tempera-ture, which reach peak values at 400℃; while the hardness and wear resistance of thecoating decrease with the rise of heat treated temperature continuously.Z.C.Guo,X.Y.Zhu,R.D.Xu and X.W.YangFaculty of Material and Metallurgy Engineering, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Kunming650093, ChinaManuscript received 26 December 2001 in revised form 23 April 2002 2002Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2002,15,4:16
2THE EFFECT OF POWERFUL OXYGEN EVOLUTION METAL-OXIDE ON THE ELECTROOXIDATION OF METHANOL显示文摘An improved thermal decomposition method is used to prepare modified titanium base anode. Some researches have been carried out to learn about the oxygen evolution properties of RuMn, RuCo, RuCe and RuEu etc. in H2SO4 solution and their effect on the electrooxidation of methanol if added into the catalytic layers of Pt/Ti electrodes. The result indicates that the Pt/Ti electrodes containing RuMn, RuCo and RuEu etc. metal oxide catalysts with the powerful evolution property exhibit a higher electro-catalytic activity towards methanol electrooxidation than Pt/Ti electrodes without composite metal oxide catalysts.X.C. 3Synthesis of ZrAlN coatings with thermal stability at high temperature显示文摘Dry machining will result in elevated temperatures at the tool surface (800—1000℃). So, coating materials that can provide protection for cutting tools at these temperatures are of great technological interests. ZrAlN coating is proposed to possess high-temperature stable structural and mechanical properties due to the addition of the alloying element. ZrAlN coatings were grown using a dc reactive magnetron sputtering. The XRD and nano indenter were employed to investigate the effects of reaction gas partial pressure and substrate bias on structural and mechanical properties, as well as high-temperature stability. The ZrAlN coating, when deposited under optimum conditions (-37 V substrate bias and 2×10-5 Pa N2 partial pressure), showed smooth surface with thermal stable hardness. Its internal stress was relaxed from 2.2 to 0.7 GPa after anneal- ing. Formation of Al2O3 and ZrO2 crystalline phases should be related to thermal stability of the coatings.LI Dejun 2006Science China(Technological Sciences)2006,49,5:6
4CODEPOSITION OF ALUMINUM AND SILICON ON PURE MOLYBDENUM SUBSTRATE USING HALIDE ACTIVATED PACK CEMENTATION TREATMENTS显示文摘A multi-component diffusion coating has been developed to protect Mo-based alloys from high temperature environmental attack. Aluminum addition was made during the coating process to improve the oxidation resistance by developing hexagonal Mo(Si, Al)2 through the development of the halide activated pack cementation coating process on pure Mo substrate. The results show that Mo(Si, Al)2 formed as a main phase on the surface and a little amount of Mo5Si3 also formed. The total thickness of coating is tens ofμm at 1373K. During the cyclic oxidation test at high temperature(at about 1323K in air), mullite (3Al2O3.2SiO2) and some SiO2 formed. The addition of Al is beneficial for MoSi2 coating and the Al-doped coating exhibited only a small weight gain and protected the Mo substrate, while the MoSi2 coating without Al suffered a significant weight loss, indicating a loss of volatile MoO3 after cycles.J.L. 5CRYSTALLISATION KINETICS AND PHASE TRANSFORMATION BEHAVIOUR OF ELECTROLESS NICKEL-PHOSPHORUS DEPOSIT WITH 6-9wt% PHOSPHORUS CONTENT显示文摘Crystallisation kinetic and phase transformation behaviour of the electroless nickel-phosphorus deposit with 6-9wt% phosphorus content were studied. The deposit was heated in the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) apparatus to 300℃-800℃ at 20℃/min, followed by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. The sequence of crystallisation process was: mixture of amorphous and microcrystalline nickel phases → intermediate metastable, f. c. c. nickel and stable N13P phases → f. c. c. nickel and stable Ni3P phases. Preferred orientation of nickel {200} plane was developed after the heating processes. Activation energy of crystallisation process was determined from the DSC analyses at 5-50℃/min. Crystallisation temperatures were found increased with increasing heating rate.K.G. Keong, W. Sha and S. 6A COMBINATORIAL APPROACH TO THE OXIDATION RESISTANCE OF (Ti,Al)N AND Ti-Al-Si-N HARD COATINGS显示文摘The increasing complexity of modern functional materials leads to the demand of acost efficient tool for the development of new products. One possible approach to thisquestion is the adaptation of combinatorial methods to the specific requirements of ma-terials industry. These methods, originally developed for the pharmaceutical industry, have recently been applied to the screening of superconductive, magnetoresistant andphotoluminescent materials. The principle of these combinatorial approaches is thedeposition of large materials libraries in one process combined with fast methods forthe determination of the resulting properties. In this paper, the deposition and charac-terization of laterally graded materials libraries (composition spread) is presented. Thefilms have been deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering, using two or three metallictargets at a low angle to the substrate surface as well as a system of apertures. Toillustrate the advantages of combinatorial approaches for the development of advancedmaterials, the multicomponent metastable hardcoatings (Ti, Al)N and Ti-Al-Si-N arediscussed with special emphasis on the relations between structure and composition onthe one hand and the oxidation resistance of these coatings on the other. The resultsillustrate that the composition spread approach is a powerful and cost efficient tool forthe development and optimization of new multicomponent functional materials.R. Cremer D. 7Effect of Electrospark Alloying Process on Microstructure and Properties of the coating显示文摘Using electrospark alloying machine, a series of experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of electrospark surface strengthening process on the microstructure and the properties of the coatings with ultrafine cemented carbide as electrode material and white cast iron as substrate material. The results indicated that the optimum process parameters to be used reached a satisfying coating surface. Wear test results showed the coatings had a high wear-resistance.狄平 顾伟生 朱世根 2002Journal of Donghua University(English Edition)2002,19,4:3
8HOT DIPPING ALUMINIZED COATING AS HYDROGEN PERMEATION BARRIER显示文摘The hydrogen permeation experiment of MA NET II with hot dipping aluminized coating was performed in temperature range of 573 to 623K, in gas phase and in liquid Pb-17Li phase. The hydrogen permeation reduction factor (PRP) evaluated in gas phase is 620 at 573K and 260 at 623K, and in liquid Pb-17Li phase is 24-45 at 573K and P2-30 at 623K. The self-healing of coating is obvious and effective above 673K. The pressure dependence of permeation flux indicates strong surface contribution. The way of filling hydrogen by continuous flow and/or bubble can increase permeation flux. The result of SEM-EDS shows that the microcrack is on the surface of the wetted part, but not on the not wetted part. The crack is superficial and affects only thin outside layer not penetrate aluminized layer. The surface elemental analysis shows that Al/O atomic ratio changes from 2/3 of not wetted part to about 1 of wetted part. The damage of coating surface seems to be related to the interaction of outside layer with liquid Pb-17Li and thermal stress during heating sample.Z. Y Yao, M. Chini, A. Aiello and G. 9Numerical and Experimental Studies of Substrate Melting and Resolidification during Thermal Spraying显示文摘A good understanding of melting and resolidification of the substrate will help us to achieve better bonding. Anumerical model is developed to investigate the solidification of the droplet, and melting and resolidification of thesubstrate. The molybdenum powder spraying onto three different substrates: a stainless steel, brass (70%Cu) andaluminum by atmospheric plasma spraying has been investigated. The maximum melting depth of the substrate hasbeen measured and compared with the numerical prediction. Experimental results show that the material propertiesof the splat and substrate and melting temperature of the substrate play the important roles on substrate melting.A dimensionless parameter, temperature factor, has been proposed and served as an indicator for substrate melting.H. 10Fe-Cr-Y_2O_3 MICRO-CRYSTALLINE COATINGS DEPOSITED BY SERIES ELECTRO-PULSE DISCHARGE显示文摘A new technique - series electro-pulse discharge (SEPD) - was developed as a sur-face coating process. In this technique, both positive and negative poles of a pulsepower were used as the depositing electrodes with the substrate alloy as an induction electrode. Fe-Cr and Fe-Cr-Y2 O3 micro-crystalline coatings were deposited on stain-less steel (Fe-18Cr-8Ni) surfaces. Oxidation at 950℃ in ambient air showed that the coatings greatly improved the oxidation resistance of the steel. The addition of dis- persed Y2O3 nano-particles into the alloy coatings was found to further reduce the scaling rate and enhance the adhesion of oxide scales.Q. Xu,Y.D. He,D.R. Wang,H.B. Qi,Z.W. 11FEM ANALYSIS OF THERMAL STRESSES IN GRADIENT THERMAL BARRIER COATINGS PRODUCED BY EB-PVD显示文摘Gradient thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) produced by co-deposition of mixtures of Al-Al2 03- YSZ onto metallic bond coat exhibited longer lifetimes than the two-layered TBCs. The finite element method (FEM) numerical models were used to investigate stress and strain states in the GTBCS and traditional two-layered TBCs as they cooled to 750℃ from a stress-free state at 850℃.H.B. 12HOT CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF K38G ALLOY AND ITS SPUTTERED NANOCRYSTALLINE COATING BY PRE-DEPOSITED SULFATE AT 900℃显示文摘The sputtered nanocrystalline coating of K38G alloy was obtained by magnetron sput-tering. The hot corrosion behaviors of cast K38G alloy and its sputtered nanocrys-talline coating by pre-deposited 75wt%Na2SO4+25wt%K2SO4 at 900℃ were studied. The results indicated the occurrence of internal sulfidation in the cast K38G alloy withpre-deposited sulfattes of 0.8 and 3.0mg/cm2. However, the internal sulfidation wasnot observed in the coating with pre-deposited 0. 8mg/cm2 sulfate. The hot corrosionresistance of K38G alloy was clearly enhanced through nanocrystallinzation, althoughthe internal sulfides were still formed for the coating with sulfate deposit of 3mg/cm2.The relevant hot corrosion mechanism was also discussed.S.J.
